VSH Analog Revision B

greg | February 8, 2007

Now with many of the previous problems fixed, VSH Analog is officially one of my favourite 3.10 OE plugins. The coder formerly known as Insomniac197 has done a terrific job with Revision B. The improvements over v0.1 are quite pleasing.

Revision B changes:

  • Analog stops working after using some VSH options (FIXED)
  • Analog/D-pad messed up when using VSH options that actually use analog (FIXED)
  • Added option to enable/disable the button swap in VSH
  • Added short message displaying current status when enabled/disabled
  • HOLD key will stop analog movement
  • Added a power tick to keep PSP awake

To install:

  1. Copy “vshanalog.prx” to ms0:/SEPLUGINS (X:\SEPLUGINS — if your PSP is drive letter X:)
  2. Create a new text file, vsh.txt, and add this one line:
    ms0:/SEPLUGINS/vshanalog.prx
  3. Save “vsh.txt” to ms0:/SEPLUGINS
  4. Enable plugin via the Recovery Console (hold R-trigger while booting your PSP)

To enable/disable the analog and d-pad swap, press the vol+ and vol- buttons at the same time. You will get a short message telling you if the plugin is enabled or disabled.

Known issues:

When launching items from the game menu on non 3.10 OE firmwares, the PSP will crash. Unable to fix as this is not an error on my part. Only 3.10 OE is fully supported.

3.10OE-A needs it’s own coded plugins, i’ve never really been a fan of them but some can do amazing things. this one i’ll pass on.

i think this is a great plugin i have not problems with it on 3.10OE-A2 but i think the great part it that u can also use it in GAME to have analog control in game that don’t have it

When this is “enabled” I lose control of my standard D-pad… I expected to be able to use both! :( Also, when I have this plugin turned on, but have it “disabled” by pressing volume – and volume +, my home button doesn’t function (I complained about this in the last release… I’m pretty fond of my home button), however when I enable it again, the home button goes back to working. My only other complaint is I don’t like how it says “VSH Analog Enabled” in the top left corner on bootup… I just don’t like that to pop up :/

how do you get outta a game screen if your home button dont work ?

Well, I only had this enabled for the vsh (menu) so it wouldn’t affect the game… but if you have it enabled in game and your home button doesn’t work, just press Vol- and Vol+ at the same time and “Enable” it and the home button will work.

If this is possible there must be a way to dissable the analoge stick. Mine was broken twice and really bugs the hell out of me moving in all directions. I don’t want to blow another 40 dollars, I tried the forums but I can’t log in…

This is made for 3.10 OE… and it should work on game if you make a text file called “game.txt.” in your SEPLUGINS folder and put the ms0:/SEPLUGINS/vshanalog.prx line of text in it and enable vshanalog for game in recovery.
