Beware firmware flashing fiends… The official 3.11 firmware update is now available via Network Update. Supposedly it focuses on fixing compatibility issues for certain PlayStation Network titles.
If you wish to check it out, download it here.
Updating to 3.11 will render your PSP incompatible with homebrew.
And, so you know, Team C+D’s decrypter for 3.10 works on 3.11, too.

Bah, POS Sony trying to keep us from having fun with our PSPs. I just finished (just now) upgrading to 3.10A and to A2. Then I reload the page and I see this crap. Oh well, another one to get decrypted and released in about a week and a half.

There will be no PSP2 in the near future or pretty much the far future, Sony’s “credit” advisers have told them the PS3 id doing more harm than good and at the moment, they are losing money and will continue to do so for quite some time, much more than though of previously. It’s their fault for rushing out that big bulky piece of shit and horrible collection of titles, etc…
BTW – stay tuned as Sony is going to releaase some “news” about the PSP and their “firmware”

I for one welcome this update after all if the PS1 emu is updated and once DA release 3.11 OE-A maybe we will get to play FF8 without crashes.
I reckon DAX works for Sony anyway, its all a big money making scam by Sony!! If you can play homebrew then you are going to sell more PSP’s and in turn more memory cards!! Plus not everyone can downgrade so they still make money from UMD sales!!

If you want to downgrade to 3.03, that means you were stupid enough to update from 3.03 or lower. Pretty much every PSP site threw up red flags saying “WE CAN DOWNGRADE ALL PSPs NOW! BUT THERE’S A NEW FIRMWARE A-COMIN, SO LOOK OUT!”
So, in short, if you’re at anything higher than 3.03, its your own damned fault. Nub Cake.

It isn’t Sony per se. Sony is a bunch of smaller (but still quite large) groups: Sony Music, Sony Pictures, Sony Consumer Electronics, Sony Computer Entertainment, etc. It is the content groups (Music, Pictures, et al.) that are screwing over the customers. Excellent case in point: MiniDisc and NetMD. Cool ideas, very well implemented by Sony Consumer Electronics, utterly crippled by Sony Music. The content groups are doing exactly the same thing with PSP. By all rights the UMD should be recordable, and PSP should be the next generation of MiniDisc, and in fact PSP should be 100% backwards compatible with MiniDisc. But, no, Sony Pictures and Music don’t want that because MiniDisc failed — never mind that it failed *because* of Sony Music crippling it — so PSP can’t have it.

you are lying. Any of DA’s custom FW has protection built in so that you cannot run official sony updates whether from network update or the sony website. If you try to run it, you get the error (DADADADA). Who the hell are you trying to impress with you lies?

Gi133, try booting your PSP while holding the right shoulder button, to see if you can access the recovery menu. If you can, you could use recovery to save your PSP and revert to 1.5 by enabling USB mode, dropping the 1.5 updated EBOOT into the recovery folder (/PSP/GAME/RECOVERY) and naming it EBOOT.PBP then going to “Run program at…” on your menu.

i just “downgraded” to 3.03 OEC from 3.10 oeA2 and then ran it again in 3.03 OEC. Didnt do anything except reinstall 3.03 OEC. Whoever screwed with your psp probably turned it off midway through the installation and it never reinstalled the recovery files. Looks like you need a modchip

Complain about updates if you want, but if Sony NEVER updated from the first firmware, then there would be NO PS1 emulator for the PSP. We’d be on firmware 1.0–which wouldn’t be too bad, but still doesn’t beat playing playstation games on the PSP.
The reason third party Developers aren’t able to make a PS1 emulator as well as Sony is because Sony doesn’t have to reverse engineer to make an emulator. Sony knows EXACTLY how their hardware works, third party PSP developers have to guess how the hardware–they aren’t given the hardware/software specifications to be able to optimize their emulators. DON’T PUT THE PSP DEVELOPERS DOWN.
If Sony tried to make a N64 emu (yes that’ll never happen, but just bare with me), I bet they wouldn’t do too much better than Daedalus, since they don’t have the hardware specfications for the N64. They would have to start from scratch and reverse engineer until they had a workable speed for games.
How the hell do you have this posted BEFORE the Sony PSP site has it posted. I wouldn’t bother with working on this decryption untill the real 3.11 is posted.

Honestly, I think it would be a great idea to put an iso blocker on the OE firmwares. What keeps a system alive is its games. Sony isn’t selling the number of games they should because they are being pirated. I have no problem with homebrew, but with piracy I do. A majority of PSP games suck because the developers don’t want to spend $hit loads money to make a game that will be stolen. Hell they might as well spend $2 million dollars to develop a AAA title and give every single copy away for free. You don’t want anyone else to steal your $hit, so stop stealing theirs. I don’t blame developers for not wanting to develop for the PSP. Sony doesn’t mind homebrew, all they want is to stop games from being pirated. Keep homebrew, but block isos all together. If we don’t, then expect to be stuck with a handheld that’s no longer supported. Thanks for fucking it up for the rest of us.

You’ve got a very valid point, but one person’s complaining wont stop the piracy. If your against ISOs that’s fine. It’s your own buisness. But if your like me and thousands of other people in the hacking community, you’ll download the ISOs for free.

on further inspection of PSX titles, I recon this isn’t a secuirity patch as i first thought. Some games just do not go past their WARNING screens or their copyright screens, like spiderman 2: Enter Electro and Resident Evil: Nemesis

id like to see a custom firmeware that drops ISO support for PSP games (not PS1 games, some people actually OWN the games themselves and burn them- you know…. actually buying it at least once) and add plug-ins to support other console games (so you could go directly into the GAMES menu and go to your memory stick, and have them like PS1 games currently on OE firmwares, not needing any specific emulator
Hi i also updated coz i thought they wont ben HEN for 2.81 or a downgrader….. o.k i know y some of u try to decrypt their psp, it won’t work unless its downgraded and it sorta works for me… I rename psardumper2 and psardumper2% psardump and psardump2 and copied the eboot wich was from psardumper2% and owerwrote the oda file. when i started the game, it would start and when it says PLAY STATION PORTABLE(in da begining) it would get stuck for 10 secs and then would turn off. but it didn’t get decrypted…
