Ah ha! Good morning, and what a morning! Team C+D has done it again with successfully decrypting the latest PSP firmware — 3.10.
- Download the firmware 3.10 update and the new PSAR dumper
- Copy “psar_dump2″ and “psar_dump2%” to the correct location on your memory stick (GAME or GAME150 depending on your configuration — must be ran under the 1.50 kernel)
- Use PBP Unpacker to extract DATA.PSAR from the 3.10 update EBOOT
- Run PSAR Dumper

actually i believe you are wrong, see, sony is not stupid. They make the firmware not all that hard to decrypt so that hombrew users will be able to still use the firmware (via devhook, cw, etc…) and so then they would still buy games. If sony did not do this than all of us hackers would then just decide to never upgrade, and thus never buy anymore psp games, of which would be fine since we would have out homebrew games and now ps1 games. So to sum up sony did not get owned, they are just playing smart so as to keep everyone buying games.

You also can think Chony being cool with scene, or, maybe? being not able to produce something undecypherable.
And not all sceners are hackers but users and programmers. -Users- are all. -Programmers- are the ones that -make- programs for the scene, and -hackers- are those user-programmers that also solve the riddles of encryption and walls of protections. Users, again, are the ones that could decide not to buy a game from Chony. The point is that scene benefits Chony, as you say, because scene makes Chony sell more consoles, and those -introduced by scene- PSP owners could decide to buy some games “to see what they look like before risking my PSP or I am legal, so I’ll buy a game from time to time because i like it and want to support all those programmers work, although if games were cheaper surely I would more, but I can’t afford it”. Otherwise, those “new-sceners” wouldn’t spend a dollar, yen or euro on any Chony related company.
What Chony should have to do is to open the firmware to scene, they’d spend less time with silly protections. They also know that there are no unbreakable protections. Maybe a matter of image or prestige?
i understand what you were saying about the whole not everyone is a hacker thing, i just couldnt think of a better name but i guess -user- works. And im not sure though i still think sony is making them not that hard to decypher on purpose, because is it really that hard to change up the encryption and tweak a few things to make it so hard that it isnt worth decrypting? and like i still see it as them taking a gamble if they make it undecypherable since they would either get a lot of people to upgrade since they cant use devhook or anything, or they would be stuck with a majority of their consoles downgraded and -users- not caring that they cant use the new firmware since their downgraded firmware lets them play a good amount of games, whether they be homebrew or ps1 games.

heres something all of you are missing cause your all too busy talking shit to each other, first off the firmwares are NOT truely decrypted or cracked or any other word you might think of using in place, CAUSE something you all are not seeing is that DV and DA cfw’s DO NOT give you full decrypted access to the newer fw’s like old school 2.0 and 2.5 did, those were TRUELY fully decrypted fw’s and since then theres been 2.6,2.7,2.71,2.8,2.81…you get my point All of which have not been able to be by definition 100% “DECRYPTED”, have they? and before any of you stupid asses make any kind of responce thik of it this way, we still have to use decryted 2.5 files for us to be able to have custom menu icons and texts and menu names… so yes C+D and DA and BOOSTER have all done great great great work, but its been lets count them together guys 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8…about 10 firmware updates since we have ever had full 100% “DECRYPTED” access. So…..no sony didnt get owned and we as a figurative hacking scene did not lose either…its more or less a stale mate of sorts.

i use .52 (the latest) and that runs 3.03 firmware
look around in forums and you find out how to set it up.
Your a noob sweetheart… I play gta vc on 3.03OE-B and it works fine… devhook isn’t needed anymore. Thats fact. Maybe reviewing the various readme’s will help you solve your problem… no more devhook!! out with the bad, in with the good! noob!

I got GTA:VCS the day it came out, and played it on the custom firmware that was most recent. Wasn’t it 2.71SE then?
Ah well…I hope DaX blesses us with some custom firmware soon.
Oh, and a little suggestion: To free up flash memory, wouldn’t it be possible to make a plugin for 3.1OE to redirect the BROWSER icon to a PRX/EBOOT on the PSP, to run a homebrew browser? That browser’s a resource hog, and I’m sure it eats up a decent maount of flash.
More flash = more features for DAX to pimp out his FW with, including .dax support. ;)

gta vc runs fine for me. boots straight of stick with default settings in recovery. but need to use devhook for cheatdevice with gta as like everyone else
OMGZ what i friggin noob, VCS plays on any of the 3.0x oe firmwares! Try changin some of the settings in the recovery menu. its not hard.
simple FACT for here ya sweety – DevHook provides NOTHING that 3.0x oe does not also provide. It’s time to move over buddy. geez its as bad as when all the die hard Windows 98 users refused to go to XP. technology evolves and its a good ides to try and keep up with it!
P.S if its cos you dont wanna flash, its really not that scary look at the 3.03 installation success rate thread in the forums. 3 bricks / 100’s of successes!
gtavcs runs perfectly for me on 3.03oe-b i dunno … if you are using a backup iso you still need a umd for vcs so put in ANY umd and run recover and disable no-umd if you havent already done this…works for me….

you can just downgrade your office firmware, do that first before you can even try to dump, cause with your’s official 3.03, the dumper wont even run. So take my advice, and DOWNGRADE! (to 1.5) THEN to CUSTOM FIRMWARE 3.03OE.

yeah i guess props goes all round for this. i don’t think there were any huge security changes on this round though. thats why it was so easy to get this far within release.
Would make life easier if they didn’t lock the fw and force devs to open them. but then again, if they did, they’d loose face. and also open up talks about piracy and corporations allowing it…esp since sony is huge in entertainment (movies, music, duh games, etc…). they prob dun care secretly, lol. they keep releasing, and dev’s keep hacking. so it works out for both parties.

This is pretty big for the scene to un-cover so quickly…I mean I just upgraded to 3.03 OE-C like 2 days ago…all I will ever need for my PSP now is a 100% perfect emulation SNES and better compression for ps1 and UMD isos

Nothing unless you use devhook. With this and devhook, you should be able to play games that rely on the new f/w.

when i try to recover my 303 oe c it doesnt work i gave the recovery folder in game150 folder with the data.dxar and it still doesnt work please help?
This firmware is not meant to be used with the 3.03OE-C recovery. This may brick you’re PSP if you tried. So don’t do it!!
the instructions on this page are all you need to do, right. you dont need th LCS anymore do you? please answer logicaly.
This has nothing to do with the LCS save exploit, this is just to decrypt the 3.10 update.

No. Do not run the update under any circumstances. This is only for people with firmware 1.5 and devhook. I would suggest that you would benefit from running one of the custom firmwares for now (if you aren’t already doing so) and wait for a 3.10 custom firmware to be released.

You should be able to run any new game releases which rely on this new firmware. You can do this by using devhook. Check the forums for more info.

Excuse me could someone please tell me if this downgrade is compatable with TA-082.
This isn’t a downgrade, this is a firmware decrypter for use with devhook, which only 1.5 users etc can use. Try the forums for info on how to downgrade your psp- currently only 3.03 downwards can be downgraded. Once this is done, either use the latest devhook, or get the latest custom firmware. ^_^

It decrypts the new 3.10 firmware for use with devhook. It is completely different to just downloading the undecrypted version which cannot be used with devhook. Devhook allows you to play games which rely on the latest firmware version. See the forums for more info.
Actually that’s not wholly accurate; the psar dumper itself does exactly what it says on the tin- dumps the psar. lol
guys, think for a minute, do you really think that sony gives a damn anymore about the exploits! after all they receive lots of money for doing nothing but endorse software that is created by others, if anything, hacking the psp has helped them sell more. I still believe that sony could zip the firmware shut permanently if they really wanted to by removing the ability to communicate with the flash chip via xmb or usb

i dont know what is wrong but i cant get this thing to work at all. everytime i try to run the PSAR Dumper on my PSP it says “the game could not be started.” i wanted to know what might be the problem.
we shoulnt wait.. i mean look at the past handful of upgrades! theyve upgraded only cuz of the hacks and decrypts done by us. i fu ask me, i think wed still be in the 2’s if it wasnt for us hackin em within days to force em to upgrade

To the ppl who cant get the gta vcs iso or cso to work in the game xmb of the psp u dont need to use any devhooks, in the recovery mode on configuration -> disable the Use NO-UMD (currently: disabled) and in the Advanced -> Advanced configuration -> make sure the Use isofs driver also in UMD-inserted mode (currently:disabled) then when u go to load the iso from the game xmb put a umd in any umd and the iso will load. The gta vcs iso will work with no umd only on 2.71 SE C hopefully in 3.0x OE etc it can be sorted so the iso plays without a umd ive been testing prx files by adding them to seplugins to see if i could get the gta vcs iso to load without a umd but no luck yet i need the prx files from 2.71 SE C i think its a plain.prx but how to get it any ideas ppl? lol because it wont be in seplugins if u flashed 2.71 SE C its in the flash i think? and only 3.03 SE C can access the flash0. (damn i just gave myself an idea lol)
That’s a three step process, my firend.
1.Downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade to 2.71SE
2.Use XFlash to dump your flash, then use USB mode to make sure you have the full flash dump; included in the dumped files will be your PRX
3.Upgrade to 3.03OE-C and work your magic with the PRX from the flash dump you made with XFlash. Congradulations, you have the 2.71SE PRXs for your mad experiments. ;)
Also, which PRX is it that allows for the full NOUMD emulation? If it’s virtually the same or similar to the corresponding 3.03 PRX it might be possible to use PSP Filer with “hackker mode” enabled (L+R+dpad left) to copy the prx form your memcard to your flash.

EDIT: I forgot about the Flash-USB mod in 3.03OEC. You could just use that and drag+drop the prx yo your PSP’s flash. Instead of messing with PSP filer.

in the recovery meny setup like this to play GTA VC
under configuration :
skib SCE logo enabled
hide corrupt icons enabled
use no umd disabled
fake region europe
under advanced configuration:
plain modules in UMD/ISO enabled
use isofs driver also in umd inserted mode disabled !
put an DEMO UMD IN THE DRIVE
if u test prx plugins u need to put the lines of text in the game documant text
not this way …. its directly to the flash overwriting the old 1 !

ive always wondered if sony makes their products crackable to draw attention as most avrage users are not technical enough to play copied games. however if a novice hears about playing copied games gets a psp and decides its too diufficult they end up buying games. its probably not true but sometimes i like to think they use this as a publicicity stunt more hacking = more online news = propfit

I agree. We all got along OK with DevHook between 2.71-SE and 3.02-OE. We can be patient until 3.50-OE (because of course, FW 3.50 will be here by March), or whatever, as long as quick decryption continues.
damn i didnt think of using X-FLASH good idea thx man, its just knowing which damn prx it is to use? lol for gta vcs iso to load without a umd ima go do some flash playing with my psp i dont think ill brick psp im starting to understand this stuff now (recovery mode anyways woooo! lol) if ya do brick either make a folder in GAME folder called BOOT then all the files in 3.03flasher the eboot etc put them in BOOT folder and the 3.03flasher5 in GAME in recovery mode under configuration run the /PSP/GAME/EBOOT.PBP enabled and away u go flashing it back to 3.03 SE C or get the 1.5 update and ename the EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP and put that in the RECOVERY folder and run it from the recovery mode menu u will go back to 1.5

Ok Ok hacks and custom firmwares are great but the main reason sony is so pissed about them is beacause most of the people that do this only do it beacause of iso and thats stealing before you go and say haha sony is so dumb hackers rule remember one thing sony made the PSP! and if you want to see a PSP2 or somthing like that this has got to stop now homebrew is Ok but isos are not

Second of all, i really dont want to brick my psp so i am wondering if it is even wise to try downgrading on a Japanese PSP ?!? .. Please Help
umm legal isos are cool, but those that are downloaded from sites or torrents instead of ripped from an already owned umd are crap.
the ones downloaded from sites can be the full iso or ripped and the full untouched so how i figure there crap? lol pspiso.com is a good site have a look for yourself then judge

Unfortunately there is currently no way to downgrade your PSP’s 3.10 firmware, but keep watching PSP hacks for further developments.
