PSPoste Beta 5 Released

greg | January 27, 2007

The PSPoste Team has released Beta 5 of their popular email client.

As I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again, PSPoste is the first and only fully functional email client for the PSP; supporting both POP and SMTP protocols. Compose, send, receive, and organize all your mail while you’re on the go! Perfect if you’re in area blanketed with free WiFi. :)

PSPoste Beta 4 Main Window Screenshot

Beta 5 changes:

  • Completely re-wrote the contacts editing window.
  • Fix crash when adding a new account.
  • Fix crash when going to the compose window from the contacts window when no contacts exist.
  • Fix a bug that caused the default “PSPoste Team” contact to be added multiple times.
  • Changes to the controls to support the new contacts edit window.

INSTALL/UPGRADE NOTES: unzip the PSPoste_Beta5_FW15.zip file to your PSP/GAME directory. Existing settings, contacts and mail will be preserved.

As requested by the team, the download link below will land you on the sourceforge project page.

What firmware do you need to run this? If it’s 1.5, can you emulate 1.5 then run it?

put it in your X:\PSP\GAME150 folder and yes it SHOULD work, if the file name is something lone like “__PSPOSTE___BETA5__” or even just “PSPPOSTE BETA5″, you might want to rename it to something smaller as that’s how I got the genesis and gameboy emulator to work, it didnt like the uber long names in 3.02OE-B I guess. Make sure to rename both folders, it should have a kxploited folder, example:
“__SCE____GAMBEOY___”
“__SCE____GAMEBOY___%”

rename them to:
“gameboy”
“gameboy%”

Then it should work, no need to set kernel mode to 1.5

I am still very new to the whole E-mail system and haven’t gone far from hotmail and gmail. Will this work with either of those, or is it for something like your ISP email?

Gmail offers free POP, so yes. However, hotmail does not, at least not for free.

it works on the custom firmware 3.03 in the 150 folder but firmware 1.5 doesn’t have WPA support :/ cant this be written to work with newer firmwares which have WPA support?

Nice app but it’s still a bit buggy, the field box selection keeps moving when I’m trying to input my details.

Why can’t these developers use the 3.03 OE firmware to enable WPA? There is not one homebrew “net app” that does this. As far as I’m concerned these apps are as good as useless, since everyone with a brain uses WPA on their access points.

I have a question… ive bought a psp memory card from ebay.. a 4gb.. but its fake cuz it only uses about 1gb of space.. but that 1gb works perfectly.. do you think if i use that memory card to downgrade.. it may result in a brick ?.. ive got 2.80 psp.. so just thats all i need to know

ALSO, can i downgrade using a 4 GB memory card.. since they say that only firmwares over 2.80 are able to use 4 gb memory cards

….and your PSP version is the entire reason why….upgrade to 3.03, then downgrade to 1.50, then upgrade to 3.03OE-C, then run it….then your PSP won’t turn off…..

To users experiencing crashes on 3.03 OE-C: please send a mail to psposte@gmail.com.

To RSX: In the settings / account tab, bring down the context menu (triangle) and expand (left) the quick add menu entry. Then select (x) the GMail option. It will prompt you for your username and password and the server settings will be automatically populated.
