PSX Ultra Ripper v0.2

Are you running low on memory stick storage because your PSX games occupy a nice chunk? Well if that be the case then you may find interest in PSX Ultra Ripper (or PSXur for short).
PSXur is developed by PSPSpectroplasm and permits ripping of audio and/or videos from your PSX ISO images. The ending result: a smaller sized image, and after compression, even smaller!
Rename the image’s file extension (.iso, .img, or .mdf) to .bin to ensure the app recognizes it. Details on usage can be found in “README-v0.2.txt.”

so this removes sound from games?
I am with ? Does this remove the sound from the games because for some of my PSX games that wouldn’t do. if this just compresses the video and sound that’s okay. Maybe I will try this when I get home from work.

yeah i had this last week, u can view or listen to a track or video from the game & take it out or leave it if u chose

Whenever I click “Open BIN File”, nothing happens. Any help?
Same here…open bin file, and nothing comes up — error or otherwise. I know it’s a good image since it’s the same one I used with popstation to play the same game…

you CAN, but why would you do that?
as for the info on how to use it….actually, i’m pretty bad at explaining, sorry.
look around for a forum, or check out the source, they usually have the info on how to use it
..i feel stupid.
it does take out the cutscenes and stuff if you choose to, and that’s how the games get smaller…
if you’re still willing to do this to make your games smaller, by all means ^-^
it made ff7 disc 1 729->229…that’s pretty significant
I beta tested this for a week now (Actually thats true) & as for its compatibility in ripping games, this is the best, This will even fix Tekken 3 from crashing before the credits and this can even rip RESIDENT EVIL 2 (both discs) to just 120mb, however it still does not fix the crashing at RPD.

hi great appz can someone help me i make the PSM on PSXur-scanner then i open PSXu-Ripper i rip all videos and then i used PsGUI221beta to make my EBOOT.PBP and keys and i try to run on psp i see playstation logo then nothing blank screen if im doing something wrong can some one point it out thanks

Ok, I read the instruction from v0.1 to make it work…I was able to rip the videos, but afterwards, the image is still exactly the same size — isn’t it supposed to have made it smaller? Or is it only smaller after you compress it?
Aren’nt these programs called pmsplay , and psxldr, and havent they been used for yrs and yrs and yrs to do this to psx games , I have been using this method for about a month now for eboots. Is this just a gui for those programs or are they rewritten or updated? just curious.
Same here… rip videos and music, but afterwards, the BIN is still exactly the same size.

i rename it .bin and yet doesnt work…
after you rip the videos you supposed to shrink it with psgui221beta and make eboot and keys and it would shrink but the problem i am having i try it and i see the playstation logo and then nothing anyone that could help me thanks
There must a step missing… I stripped Tekken3, and it’ll play, unless it tries to play any video (including the intro movie). So it’s likely that it needs a blank put in place of the movie you’re ripping out.
If your extracting the iso from an eboot, make sure that the eboot is NOT compressed first. Other wise the iso is useless.
Nothin happening when trying to open files. Gonna try just doing what i do to xbox games, ie, delete files from an explorer and then just load it up on the unit and see what happens

Open PSXur-scanner
Select “Analyze DAO Image” from the File menu.
Browse your computer and select the .bin file
Only check the STR and XA boxes, then hit Start.
When that is done it will ask you if you want to save your data, hit yes.
Now open PSXu-Ripper
open the psm file.
Then open the bin file
Press Rip All
Once that is finished you may close it
Then use whatever program you use to make eboots for psp, the game will appear to be the same size till you make the compressed eboot.

DBCAB i did that and made eboot but when i try to play the game i see the playstation logo then nothing black screen working on tony hawk
Well I have been using this method for quite some time now with the original pmsplay and psxldr, these programs are the same just in a packaged folder with I think new blank files but method is the same, I have had quite a bit of success on several games heres what I know about the method as for use with eboots. One its better if you start with a fresh bin and not just rename it, or decompress it. Two it may not be compatable with every single game, Its kinda try it and see if it works. I do have several games Ive done myself if anyone wants the game names and sizes let me know and Ill post them. Maybe we can start a list.

finally i got it to work i deleted all videos on tonyhawk and got 46.6 MB compare to 386 MB great appz thanks

Nice app very useful but Silent Hill and Resident Evil 1 and 3 dont work when I rip them but its an awesome app good work.
My silent hill works perfect music and all maybe try with an untouched bin file and seee what happens.

this seems way too confusing, and downright impossible without the instructions. the guy actually said “im too lazy to type this, go find version 1″ in the ‘instructions’…
THAT is very annoying, considering he could have just copied the text file he had sitting around from his previous releases and given us that.
but what really made up for it and brightened my day, is when he talking about using this app for “raping” things…that was fucking hillarious. He must have meant “ripping”, because so far I have yet been unable to “rape” anything or anyone with this app…god knows I’ve tried…*shakes fist*
