Extreme Link v1.4.0 Released
greg | January 23, 2007
Extreme Link is certainly coming along nicely… Quake has just released v1.4.0 and it features an ingenious way to create your own PNG images for the PSX docmaker. Take a look below, you’ll see what I mean, and how useful it can be:
Ideally you’d have a screen shot, or a few screen shots, and you’d lay them out as desired. Then you’re able to add your own text: strategic details, guide snippets, etc…
PNG Imager is distributed as a separate executable; however, it is included in the Extreme Link v1.4.0 RAR archive.

Lookin good !! Thanks
Next Release I’ll be working on maybe a Menu Favorite computer side click. Meaning, By setting a favorite for computer side you can click it on it with the menu click on PSP Explorer form. This is something i’ve been looking into and have idea’s for. I just felt the Extreme Link: PNG Imager needed to be first hand release. Stay tuned for more release’s in the future.
Quake.
P.S. PSP Rules, Thanx Sony for the Release.
Side Note: For you Dixkless wonders out that keep responding to Fuck Sony. I have one thought. If it wasn’t for sony puttin there $$$ money into the Product your Dumbasses wouldn’t have something to use Homebrew and Hacks. Keep you mouth shut and live the ride cause it’s ride to live mofo’s…
Hey…your image is from http://www.wincustomize.com...
too bad they still havent figured out a way to play games from the pc hard drive to the psp like the usb link you made… now that WAS kool … i miss that feature
120 gig pc memstick :)
Wait…I’ve been out for Extreme Link at the moment. Can the USB thingy still works on 3.03 OE B? I mean like loading off ISOs from my computer?
Anyways, Nice update!
Slap in the 2.71 – 3.01 Hybrid on the 3.03. Still works. Just change the 3.03 OE Boot. many ppl have said this does work still.
P.S I didn’t make the USB APP. My Software is a front end to there Command software. Read the shout outs on about. I’ve stated there names.
Anybody else have the feeling that we are in the Doldrums? Just sailing quietly along with no new updates from $ony, some serious time off for Dark Alex and just nothing except these little proggies that are not worth much to disturb the waters like little wavelets. I wonder just how much longer this will last untill the next big storm. Just musings people.
no new games is ages … i think sony is giving up if you ask me.. but the game companies are prolly see the psp as a high risk envestment thats why no new games .. any quake i do know you can slap devhook 4.6 in a directory and run games from the pc but it wont work for the newest games when they ever come it only goes upto 3.01
It’s the post xmas blues. Nothing ever goes on in the gaming industry in january and february. Sit back and enjoy the 1000+ titles you now have access too via psx :)
Yep Yep, Im with ya! =]
You do realize that the usb.prx was patched on firmware 2.80 and above. It’s not the usbhost that doesn’t work. I’ve seen places where they were replacing the 2.71 with the new. I don’t know if that worked or not. could tell you. Maybe someone with High enough skill can fix that. =) I know nothing of the coding language the PSP uses. If I could I’d fix itbut i can’t. Anyways, Like I said. If I could fix it I would. But I can’t. As you brought up. no new games are being put out. So hopefully Dark_Alex or someone of that High enough LVL Fixes that feature too.
Final 1.4.0 A
14. Fixed Ontop PNG Imager Control form
15. Added Count option – Sorta dumb
16. Added Last filename Saved – Sorta dumb
17. Fixed Overwrite. Now warns you on overwrite.
18. Resized the Text area
19. Fixed WordWrap
You can get this on my site. Open Options to update to get the link.
So, all in all, is it possible to load ISOs from the hard drive using the latest 3.03OE-C and just this installer? I mean, without having to use DevHook. Also, this usbhosts thingie, is it included in the installer?
Anyways, thanks to Sony and you, Quake for all your efforts :)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone give me really really really BASIC instructions on how to get this to work, I’ve gone through the instructions and I get lost at “Dev Hook: Install
1. Install Dev Hook v4* full(USB MOD’ed – Must Have)” where do you download devhook 4 from… I can only find 0.5…..
You can find torrents with devhook 2.71 full hybrid 3.01
1.4.1 Has been released.
New Features:
1. Added Explore Favorites
2. Added USB NET Favorites
