pSPC Beta 1 — a PSP Calendar and More…

greg | January 9, 2007

Introducing Reefbarman and PSP Super Portable Calendar (pSPC). pSPC is on the path to becoming a personal organizer for your PSP. It’s intended to help manage your day-to-day life while on the go; much like other hand held devices available on the market.

At the moment Beta 1 features an interactive calendar supporting:

  • Dynamic Calendar Generation
  • Current Date and Time Display
  • Today marked on Calendar
  • Calendar Navigation
  • Customizable Backgrounds

I know it’s not much considering pSPC is in the early stages of development, but the future looks promising:

  • Day by Day notes
  • Text input
  • Reminders & intergrated XMB Reminders system
  • Picture Drawing
  • Phone & Address Book
  • To Do Lists
  • Budget Calculator
  • Customizable Themes

Usage:

Use the D-Pad to navigate the calendars

Select the Month at the top and press Left or Right to access more months and years

Press Home to exit

Current Selected item is green, and todays date is marked on calendar in orange.

To customize backgrounds, place custom images in /data/gfx/bg/

Images have to be in format bgJan.png, bgFeb.png, bgMar.png etc…..

If you have ideas or feedback, you can find Reefbarman’s contact info in “ReadMe.txt.” Personally I’d like to see synchronization with iCal. :)

You know if you upgrade to 3.03 OE-A you can do anything you can with 1.5.

Oh, I’m sorry that this guy didn’t please you with his 10min downgrader. Cause obivously that thing is exciting. Don’t get me wrong, downgraders are awesome. But please, this helps people that would like to have these features without having to buy anything like an expensive palm pilot. Great Job Reefbarman. Don’t let this guy beet you down. (but give him a break, he’s a dumbass who either updated or got his psp 2 years late compared to us)

I’ve been waiting for something to show up like this. If I knew more C++ or Delphi or something I would’ve been working on something myself also.

Right now I’m tobusy redoing Extreme Link to check it. I’ll wait till the Phone Book and Date Reminders come forth. :d Keep up the good Work.

I’ve been waiting for a program like this. Can’t wait for the future functionality. Tip: Make sure to also add future months and years past 2008 since it stops there. It would suck to use this for a couple years and then suddenly have to stop using it cause the calendar doesn’t go past 2008.

The calendars are all created dynamically meaning that no matter the year it will always display the right calendars,

eg. if it is the year 2111 the calendar will let you see 2111 and 2112

atm i put a limit on it so it was doing too much work creating calendars, and so you dont get lost in the years cause finding the current could take awhile if i let you see a whole lot of years and i didnt think people would want to see too far into the future but i can always up the limit if its a problem for too many people

1st off thanks for reefbarman, awesome app in its beta stage, i can see where ur goin wi this an love it already.
2nd…Heyyy malistix, how do m8 ;-)
yeah id like to donate too, not for so much as a rhymin dictionary as im a geordie (ant & dec spoilt rap for us brits).
id use this every day in my job & its handier to flip thru my psp menu than to pull a laptop out me bag or print the shops calendar before i leave so i know whats on the day after.
Last (but always will be)…..hey DANIEL, for the first post ur comment stinks…… can tell your checkin the site for that downgrader regular…. Guess what? karma rules!!
everyone wants a 3+ downgrader, but why hassle reefbarman or any other coder, youd be sick if you were on first post and reefbarman was testing a new downgrader that DIDNT work….fancy that? ill make u one if so, mail me and ill send u a fancy new downgrader wi a big sparklin menu, and 2 options,
1.turn off & restart (with 3.0+ (as norm) or
2.or turn off & stay off (not what make psp happy)
hehe, thanks again reefbarman, will be checkin for updates ;-)

This is awesome. I am definitely looking forward to further updates, as this program is the last piece I need to fully replace my pda. And my girlfriend just thought the PSP was an over-priced toy! (Okay, so she was right, and this software isn’t going to change her mind, but I’m excited about it!)

Nice idea. Couple of ideas for future additions.. a calculator and an alarm for the clock. Don’t know if the PSP supports it but a wake-up feature from standby would be great too, so the alarm could bring the PSP out of standby when it was time to go off.

I am having trouble getting this working. I am new to PSP world. I downloaded the zip file, unpacked it, but how and where do I download these files on my PSP?. Please help.

Comment by reefbarman

the two folders in the zip file get put under psp/game folder on fw 1.5 or the psp/game150 folders on the special edition firmwares
