PSPoste Beta4 with TrueType Font Support

greg | January 7, 2007

PSPoste Beta 4 is now up for grabs.

PSPoste Beta 4 Main Window Screenshot

Beta 4 features TrueType font rendering and many other changes:

  • Interface and email text now rendered with TrueType Fonts. Thanks to FreeType and the Bookr project for the code.
  • Skin and font textures are now swizzled.
  • Rendered fonts and skin pngs are now cached in their swizzled state. That means rendering of the .ttf and .png files will only happen the first time the app is launched, subsequent launches/quits will be much quicker.
  • We no longer ship with “default” settings and contacts xml files. They will be automatically generated at runtime if they don’t exist. This means users no longer need to backup their settings.xml and contacts.xml files when upgrading.
  • Fix a crash and some rendering bugs in CText.

For those who are new, PSPoste is the first (and only) fully functional email (SMTP/POP3) client for the PSP — compose, send, receive, and organize all your mail while you’re on the go!

INSTALL/UPGRADE NOTES: unzip the PSPoste_Beta4_FW15.zip file to your PSP/GAME directory. Existing settings, contacts and mail will be preserved. Simple, huh?

Any questions, comments, bug reports or feature requests can be sent to psposte@gmail.com or visit psposte.org.

Slap it into the GAME150 folder or the GAME302/GAME303 Folder.

Program runs for me on 3.02-OE-A but crashes to blue screen when I select settings. Anyone else get this?

FYI – I put it in my GAME150 folder too.

i have 3.03OE-A’, it works….except for the key reason that i can’t use the special characters, so i can’t use the @ symbol or the . or the _ or anything else….so i can’t do shit with it, except stare at it’s nice GUI [[i put it int the GAME folder =P]]

running 3.03oe-a
crashes when setting is selected, I turn on wifi switch
then it doesn’t. but now it crashes when I try to set up new account, so i just used default account.
After puttin all the info there(Gmail) when I try to
retreive mails, it says connecting, and stay that
way.

Just like version .2 Nothing changed, except
it crashes even more.

Finally got it working !!
Here is what I did.

* bluescreen
-turn on the wifi switch before launching app.
-make sure you have set up wifi connection
in PSP xmb menu.
* Failing to retreive mail
– when setting up ur account, use pre-defined
account from menu(for now, they got Gmail,
and yahoo and something else i
dont remember, I use Gmail) -> avoid
any mistake you make during inputing all the
info about ur account(smtp, pop, all that crap)
– It seems all spam mail is retreived as well,
so clean out ur spam mail section of ur GMail
for it will take forever.(Mine tried to store
272 mails..)

Any other info would be appreciated.
