PsxDecryption Tool Released

greg | January 6, 2007

Dark_AleX never ceasing to amaze… Now those running 3.03 OE can decrypt & decompress PSX games purchased through the PS3 online store. It will also decrypt the document.dat of those games.

Instructions:

  • This program is only for 3.03 OE. It won’t work on any other system
  • Place the folder psxdecrypt at /PSP/GAME303 or if you have configured the GAME folder for 3.03 kernel, you can also place it in /PSP/GAME150.
  • Place the game from the ps3store in the same directory of the application with the name “GAME.PBP”.
  • Place also the keys.bin and the document.dat in the same directory.
  • Execute the program.
  • Press X to decrypt ISO header, game special data, and decompress the ISO image. Press O to decrypt document.dat.

Some notes:

Note: For decompressing the iso, you need a LOT of free space in your memory stick, since the decompressed iso will have more size than the pbp’s.

If you have a fake/bad memory stick, better not to use this program.
If the dxar generation took you more than 10 minutes, better not to use this program.

In good memory sticks, the process may take between 10-20minutes to more than 1 hour, depending of the size of the iso.

so what exactly does it do?

If I’m not correct, it takes out all the inards of the eboot.pbp, keys.bin, and documents.dat. Which means thiss could lead to making your own documents.dat rather than use Hot Shots. Also, someone could find out how the keys.bin works and creat a reverse way of playing the games for people who upgraded and don’t have 3.03 OE. I myself won’t try it cause I have a fake memstick and I don’t want to spend the time. Also, I could be wrong.

its a memory, not made by neither sony, or sandisk, that is the same as a original sony or sandiskk memory, but is made with cheaper materials

Make an iso folder in your ms root and put the iso in there. the game will be under your memory stick after.

x:/ISO/guilty gear

Yep, you just have them on the wrong path. The ISO folder needs to be on the root of the drive (x:/ISO/Guilty Gear.iso)

OK, for those of you who are confused. The only reason you would want to decompress the game.pbp to an ISO is so you can play the game on your PC using an emu and so you can remake the ISO into your own game.pbp with custom graphics and such. This only applies to the pbp to ISO portion of the proggy. There are other reasons people would want to decrypt the .dat file and the keys.bin. You don’t want to make your compressed pbp into an ISO unless you want to play the game on your PC or you want to remake the game.pbp… ALSO there is a PC tool to make game.pbp into ISO which would be faster and easier if you only want to get the ISO file out of the game.pbp… here is a link to it

it should be accessable through your memory card. (click on it) and if you have the setting umd needed enabled in the recovery menu of oe-b . a umd in the psp is needed.

are you trying to run an psx iso on psp ? If yes, the answer is No, you can’t play direct psx iso from psp. First you should convert it to pbp using popstation or other tools, then you put it in the game folder, and last access it like other homebrew.

Maybe well be able to rip the iso’s, and make ripkits to make the games even smaller.

Comment by locoloco

it always says corrupted data or the game doesn’t appear

Comment by Paul
2007-01-06 15:22:14

That’s because you put a game ISO file into the game folder.. LOL you need to use the standard popstation or a variation of it to turn your ISO file into an eboot.pbp file so it can be played.

Comment by sammy
2007-01-07 05:03:39

any psx isos need to be converted to eboot.pbp and placed WITH keys.bin in their own folders which are placed in ms:\\psp\game

any psp isos should go into ms:\\isos
go into system settings if all this has been done by holding R while turning the psp on and select
configuration-> and make sure that “use No-UMD ” is enabled…hope that works for you!

why would you buy it from $ony when you can download it on the net for free? that defeats the purpose of even trying to buy through sony ps3.

YOU CAN NOT RIP A PSX GAME INTO A ISO AND PLAY IT IN THE PSP. THAT ISO NEEDS TO BE CONVERTED WITH A POPSTATION GUI TO EBOOT.PHP FORMAT FOR IT TO WORK IN THE PSP. THOSE FILES THAT ARE GENERATED FROM POPSTATION NEED TO BE PUT IN THE PSP/GAME/SLUS000001 FOLDER(YOU MAY HAVE TO CREATE THIS FOLDER). GOTO MEM STICK AND PLAY THE DAM GAME.

Can I put these files in just the GAME folder and not the GAME303 or GAME150 folders? Would it work? I’m about to go from 3.02 oe b to d_a 3.03, but I’ve found that homebrew is easier to access, and psx games both run out of the GAME folder; I leave GAME150 and GAME271 empty.

is better to use only the game folder not game150 nor game271.yes i can run psp isos thanx Oozic and omega for the help.

get a program like 7zip (free-google it) and extract all the files at the same time…this should yeild an iso or whatever you have downloaded (7zip should work with zip, rar and 7z files which are the most common)

Yes its fake, if unsure ask what colour the packaging is, if its red its fake, if its blue it may be real, but its from china so its fake, best bet is buying from a reputable retailer

even if seller states its real still question them before buying
ask for a close up photo of card in packaging and compare them on ebay’s counterfeit card site here http://reviews.ebay.co.uk/FAKE-Sony-Memory-Stick-Pro-Duo-MagicGate-Cards-Exposed_W0QQugidZ10000000001535763
