This just makes it easier to use 0okm’s downdater

It will work on PSPs with ALL Motherboards BUT must have Firmware 2.80

I submitted this app to PSP Hacks much LATER than to QJ.net

I have tested this on 2 PSPs and QJ.net’s Vincent has tested it on his. Every time it was tested, it worked.

I am a complete “newb” to PSP hacks/exploits and homebrew, and pulled off the downgrade fairly successfully. I can confirm 100% that this package does work, as I have successfully downgraded my one and only TA-082 with Firmware 2.80, down to Firmare 2.71.

the diference is psp TA-082 can downgrade to 2.80 2.71 and then 1.50 3.02OE-B thas it and for the others motherboards you can do it with the 2.80 to 1.50

hey this has nothing to do with downgrader but i was downloading 2.0 and it seemed like my psp froze so i took the battery out and now when i tyr to play it the green light only comes on for 45 seconds then shuts off again. the screen stays black. does anyone know whats wrong plz tell me if you do.

if it dont star , ther is nothing to do , if you still have your garanty with SONY tell them that when you was updating with a official update example 3.03 it get bricked if that doenst work , you can use it as a keychain

Another update for you folks. You might have read earlier I (a major newb) had downgraded to 2.71, then 1.5 on my TA-082. I am now running 3.02 OE-A! I used the basic 1.5 easy upgrader provided a page or so earlier on this site, and it worked well.

OK for the Brick guy look im from mexico so i dont know any sony shop on the other side of the river but it easy just go to the official sony web page and check the adress for your state .

and for the Motherboards guy , look that downgrader is for any kind of motherboard , but look open the UMD and if thers a scrip in gold letters IC1003 is a TA-082 and you must use this downgrade first and then the Downgrade 2.71 to 1.50 0okm , but

is thers some letters that is almost imposible to se because thers a metal cover and you just see the middle then you must use the downgrade 2.80 to 1.50 , i tested with my friend´s psp and it really works .

Ok so good luck both and remember that write on flash is always dangerous but come on!!! if your psp doesnt run with the OE-B then ur psp is almost useless

and dont forget to buy the good games on original

Quicky Question i’ve noticed when reading about these downgraders that they all say something of the sort as TA-079 to TA-086 pcb’s only or TA-082 can someone please explain quickly how I can check this on my psp, when I look @ my umd it has no writing what so ever as say the TA-082 has, i’ve had this psp since it was first released, and I’ve been stuck w/ 2.80 4 ever crossing my fingers and hoping 2.80 dg’er would be here, now just to be safe can someone explain, very sorry if this question as already been asked else where.

if ur PSP has that, it’s TA~082. Otherwise, it is TA~079 or TA~081

open ur UMD cover, look at the back of the PSP.

If there is a number at the top right corner, that means that your have a TA~082 or 086 PSP.

If the number is on the left side, means u have a TA~079

it is listed under “Homebrew enabler for 2.71″. Download the “Rev D with Devhook”

By running Hen-D you go to photos and go to Hen-D. Your PSP should flash 2 colors i think it was blue and green then you should be at the menu again.

I have downgraded a TA-082 (IC1003 in the UMD drive bay) and a NON TA-082 but I have a question…how are the mobos being identified in the first place (besides knowing that a TA-082 is ID’d by the IC1003 in the UMD drive bay? For example, how do I know exactly what version my mobo is if there is NOT any IC1003 in the UMD bay? Is there some sort of identifying program code that can be run on the PSP to find out exactly the version the mobo is?

For the people at the top of the list who have analog stick problems, I had the same problem so I contacted Sonys tech help line and I followed their advice and bought a new psp and viola the problem is solved. Sonys help line is always there to help with your problems… HA HA

Yesterday I took the first Easy Downgrade for 2.80 (the one with v0.1) and had a successull downgrade.

Now my PSP is fw 1.5 with 3.02 OEB emulated.

I have read all the comments here and most other places i can find regarding psps, I am coming to terms with the fact that i am going to have to wait for a downgrade for 2.81.

I was just wondering what i CAN do with this firmware version.

Also how do I play games that request a higher firmware version without upgrading??

ok i got it no need for help thank, this downgrader works, i just did my friend fw 2.80 TA-O82,downgrade it to 2.71 now i’am going to Use HEN-D and the generic downgrader to downgrade to 1.50 so I can install 3.02OE-B and the new Easy 3.03 OE-A Installer i love this lol i will put the steps i took .

1= Install eLoader 0.995 you can get the auto-installer from this site. http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=88888898
2=Now browse to your PSP’s photo menu, and open the folder ‘xLoader 280′. If everything has worked, you will see 2 file icons, one a round blue circle, the other a ‘corrupt data’ icon. So long as your PSP hasn’t crashed at this point, then xLoader is now running
3=Alternatively, highlight the ‘xLoader 280′ folder and press START, to attempt a slideshow of the images in the folder. The PSP will complain that there are no pictures to show - this is OK, so long as the PSP hasn’t crashed, then xLoader is now running.
4=Browse to the homebrew you want to load, in the PSP’s ‘GAME - Memory Stick’ folder, and press X or O (depending on your PSP region) to start it.
5=tart 0okm’s downdater straight from the XMB, thanks to xLoader.
6=Cross fingers and wait… It didn’t take long at all, maybe 30 secs or so.
7=when you are doing this do not turn your psp off or take the power cord out put your psp down let it finish,when it’s finish it will tell you to turn off the power you will do so.
Confirm the almost obligatory BSOD with ‘O’ and restart.
Check system settings, firmware is now 2.71 again.
Use HEN-D and the generic downgrader to downgrade to 1.50 so I can install 3.02OE-B
you should be fine lol.

Okay, so xLoader REFUSES to open now
that i’ve installed the downgrader .exe thing.

eLoader works fine, but xLoader won’t work,
meaning no downgrading =[[

my psp has no letters or any thing in the umd bay i bought it july 2005 what motherboard is it?

So, now that it’s been a while and a ton of people have tried it, how safe would you say this is? I REALLY want to take every single precaution. Is there a way to brick it besides turning your psp off or removing the battery? (like a missing folder in my mem card, sheer bad luck, not praying? :)) tx!

Well, I bricked mine. Fortunately, bought at Costco less than a year ago, so they will refund money [~$330] for my bricked PSP and two crappy games [NHL and Socom 2].

I tried running the xloader, and all I got on the screen was the xloader screen, then when I browsed over to Eloader, eloader started.

I thought that maybe eloader running was through the tiff exploit, and the fact that I saw xloader meant I was using xloader.

Then I ran the downgrade. Errors from hell. A message to turn off and turn back on to recover.

A brick.

Looked over the internet to see if there was any kind of io connector or such in the PSP to do a consumer downgrade. Nope. Sony doesn’t take ANY precautions in case of a firmware fault. Unlike 99% of other consumer devices, there isn’t a monitor rom that it reverts to in case of a bad firmware image.

The whole bricking issue is more of a Sony design issue, and Sony trying to prevent people from being able to use the hardware the consumer purchased however the consumer wants to. You _SHOULD_ be able to upgrade or downgrade any product to ANY version, including open software, but the pinheads at Sony and major media conglomerates disagree.

So pirate all the movies and games you can, because the bastards at Sony and in the media companies are DEFINITELY out to screw you, for money, which is like digital prostitution.

I’m sure I will feel better after I have more money and a PSP running homebrew after my return to costco.

got myself a brick…EXACTLY what happened to DogNo7. I don´t know why, but when I tried the xLoader it did nothing. When I got to eLoader 0995, it displayed the downdater and the installotron. I chose the downdater, the image “we´re all noobz” appeared and then the program said there was an error and that it failed and told me to shut down in order to cancel the operation. brick.

for those afraid of downgrading, i suggest checking the procedures for where we had it wrong. as the file was downloaded from psp-hacks I find it hard to be a bricker-virus.

ya the menu was there , i dont know if it was xloader or eloader but i know i started xloader and so thats what it shouldve been but im assuming eloader started instead, i still had a menu and was able to start the downgrade then about 1 second after i press o to continue , boom failed

I see what the problem is.

Eloader is needed by xloader, but what is happening is people are getting into eloader, and running the update from there, instead of using the xbox standard menu, going to games tab, and doing the downdate there.

If you are doing this and see the eloader screen, exit out of it to the standard xbox menu, go over to the games tab, then down to memory stick at the bottom of that tab, and press x, and then select downgrade from there. That will make things go wooshy wooshy instead of brick brick.

ok first try the downdater in game menu it wont run now go over to photo icon and start x loader NOT eloader a pic will come up press o to go back and now go back to the game icon and the downdater will run and prompt you to press o if you get a kernel error power off manually holding the power button up for 10 secs and retry again took me 4 times to get it to run it will then power itself off when you turn back on you will get bos just press o and you will be back at 2.71 IF YOU GET THE ELOADER MENU WITH THE DOWNDATER IN IT DONT RUN IT IT WILL BRICK YA PSP

can anyone (as in a dev) tell me if this will work for a finding exploits in the psp fw.
1) first get a copy of 2.80fw and 2.81fw
2)compare the sections of each fw and find the different program codes to the fw then base the exploit off of the changes made to the existing 2.81fw for a downgrader
