X-Flash V18e Released

Update: X-Flash is now at V18e:
- Fix to the information screen selection for 1.50 firmware PSPs.
- Implementation of TA-082 PSP mainboard detector in the Information screen.
Stay tuned! I’d imagine V18f is hours away from release. ;)
Art is one busy lad… Another X-Flash update for you firmware modders out there. As you may already know X-Flash allows you to customize certain aspects of your PSP’s firmware. Remove the wavy line effect, customize menu labels, game boots, sounds, backgrounds, etc… X-Flash supports 1.50 and Dark_AleX’s 2.71 SE & 3.02 OE.
v18d changes:
- Implemented the SDK Idstorage library, giving the program access to many fields of information regarding the subject PSP unit.
- Added a PSP Information screen with the possibility of becoming an editor.
- Added restore options for 3.02 OE-A, and 3.02 OE-B to both of the version spoofers.
Features currently disabled for 2.71 SE and 3.02 OE:
- XMB Menu Label editor, and custom label options.
- ^ Firmware Version Spoofers.
- Plain Black PSP About Screens.
- * XMB System Sounds.
- Some Easter Eggs won’t work because they rely on version spoofs, detailed name plate picture, etc.
* Implemented for 2.71 SE, but not implemented for 3.02 OE yet.
^ All Version Spoofer is implemented for 3.02 OE, but not 2.71 SE.
As with any application that writes to flash memory — use at your own risk!

HEY HOW COME I GO TO X-FLASH ON MY PSP BUT IT DOESNT START IT SAYS THIS ON MY PSP’ “GAME COULD NOT BE STARTED THE DATA IS CORRUPTED
anyone know if this can brick my psp at any case.
Why the hell there is always someone asking this damn question. All the warnings are there, and I’ve used this app ever since v4 and never had any bricks at all. Used Xflash on every psp I’ve touched (friends, cousins, 4 of my own.)
ill give you my word that you will not brick it by trying this homebrew or any future updates from X-FLASH
it keeps teeling me that my “parental control” is on, its not. anyone know a way around it?
How do i put that on my PSP?
put %__SCE__XFLASH and __SCE__XFLASH folders in your PSP/GAME folder or PSP/GAME150 for 271se or 3.02OE
I like the idea of future implementation of an info editor.

You can change your XMB font, XMB sounds (instead of clicks), Power on screens/sounds. Just about anything

RomComZom i got the problem, you did the system default thing and it turned ur parental controls on.
just to be clear, is this ok to use on 3.02ob despite its warning in the readme?

so if i use this on a 3.02 oe-b psp, and it bricks, then can I run recovery and go back to 1.5?
OE-B already has a recovery option. When you boot up hold the right trigger and it’ll take you to the recovery menu.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to turn the wave effect on with custom wallpapers?

well I restoared my settings to default, but when I was going to turn of the parental controll it said it was on level 9, and that I neaded a pasword to change it. A pasword I`ve never made!!

i had the same thing,..my password was also set as 0000, i gues its standard.
{ btw this is the first time i used x-flash,.. damn, putting trash on flash has never been so easy :).

Thanks Allen, restored default settings and turned off parental control, got it working now! you can download any font from any website, but you have to convert it to pgf or something. search for ttf2pgf converter.

yes and in the readme file for 3.02 oe its rekomented to NOT use it …. but hell it so a great and usefull making ” respect” so i use it anyway ..

okay, you said read the readme.exe file but when i opened the zipped folder and wnet everywhere and cant find the readme.exe file. :(

The file is a .txt not .exe, and what firmware are you using?

i don’t know what firmwear is but if you mean version then im 3.03 and i’ve done everything thats been told what to do and its says onmy psp that i have corupt data.

for all u ppl saying that ur parental control is off but xflash tells u it is on. this is what u do. restore your default settings then go 2 security settings and chang the parental control settings. the password is “0000″ chang it to OFF. and ur finished. i have 3.02 OE-B and it worked for me.
But can someone explain that font thing 2 me. I know it is thousands of fonts on the internet, but I dont know where, or how to put them on my psp. Do I have to do it over x flash? I have 3.02 OE-A….
On x flash u can change font but it`s only one font to change to am I right?
I got the ttf2pgf converter but what to do with it? When I run install nothing happens.

Well it is easier to use X-flash to put custom font.
Yopu click the modified folder in the X-flash folder. And Get birdmans font from psp update.

I found out that this x-flash gameboot only allows up to 164kb but the older x-flash b lets you have up to 500kb of gameboot…
funny iv flashed mine with and bloody 512KB gameboot file … without probs
Yeah I discovered the same thing. Really annoying, cuz I cant find any gameboots that are 164 kb`s.

and i think that these costum firmwares have to have better names, because everywhere you look, and some one mentions CF like say 3.02 then always morons are there who have regular sony FW and ask can they run this and that. OMG

it says next one is hours from release ;) and its been like 5 days now :O
i used x flash 4 a few days and it worked great but after i tried to restore everything i t did my psp wont boot up any more. it looks like it will but after the mem stick light flashes it stops then it does it again and i hear this sound in the speakers like its starting up again. i just wanted to kno id my psp bricked or wat and is there any way i can fix it
