Are you sad and/or upset that you own a TA-082 PSP? Do you want to downgrade it and take advantage of all the glory 1.50 has to offer? Well guess what — you can!
Downgrade your TA-082 PSP running 2.71 with HEN-D; this made possible by none other than Dark_AleX, Mathieulh, and Harleyg!
This is an application to downgrade a ta-082 unit running 2.71 firmware and HEN-D to 1.50, although theoretically can downgrade to any version, but only 1.50 has been tested.
The application, at the moment of writing this readme was tested in 5 psp’s, with 5 success. As always, this kind of application have risks, this one in concrete write to idstorage area of nand.
READ CAREFULLY THE INSTRUCTIONS AND DON’T SKIP ANY STEP
Instructions
- Copy the UPDATE and idstoragechange folders into /PSP/GAME/
- Get the official sony 1.50 eboot and put it in the /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder with the name of UPDATE.PBP
- Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
- Execute the idstoragechange. It needs 75% battery. It will change some keys of your idstorage needed to downgrade the ta-082.
- The program will exit to the XMB. Now execute the generic downgrade, which will show in the xmb as “Update X.YX” in the psp language.
- The generic downgrader will also need 75% battery. IT will downgrade your psp to 1.50.
- At the end, it will ask you to press X to restart the psp. Do it.
- If all went fine, you’ll receive a blue screen telling you to press O. Do it, and reenter your settings. Welcome to 1.50.
- If things didn’t go that fine, you’ll have a non-functional psp, aka brick. You accepted that risk, remember.

The program Reflash-X for psp’s that have been bricked will be coming out soon in a couple of weeks or month. Created by your truly Black_omens the program is intended to UNBRICK psp’s . Also creating a beta 3.0X exploit for running homebrew
I may be a bit slow here, but how could you unbrick a psp without a modchip? Wouldn’t the psp need to be on to run the program?

Just a personal thank you to anyone involved in the creation of this beautiful hack. I’m not going to o it yet, as i love HEND with DH. But when the time comes when it is needed, it is good to know it is an option. Now just to help thoe people like my friend who has 2.8 with TA-082

The authors don’t get responsabilized of any damage that may happen by the use of this
unlicensed software. You are on your own when doing it.
The method of ta-082 downgrade is based on research on hardware-downgraded ta-082 selled in ebay.
We realized that the process was not very complex, and easy to imitate by software.

If it’s 2.81 then it may be a TA-086… I’d suggest checking the box code to confirm it.

woot isnt it ironic i just traded my friend my ta-082 yesterday after x-mas and *then* the downgrader comes out but even still this is the breakthrough of the century so in the future if we buy a new psp most likely can be downgraded. I want to thank dark alex for his hard work and dedication to the scene and all the other devs on this project and the rest of the scene cause without you guys we would be nothing so thanks.

yes this ta-082 downgrader works and is confirmed by everyone pretty much. i have successfully downgraded to 1.50 and then upgraded to 3.02 OE-A -> 3.02 OE-B and now the ta-082 BRAND is just a memory!!
