It sure feels like Christmas with all the amazing accomplishments happening. And here is yet another… Team C+D have successfully decrypted firmware 3.03! Uh huh… The fine folks who granted us with the 2.80 kernel mode exploit have proven themselves again.

okay, LOL people have no idea what the hell they are saying, cause first off fw 3.03 has nothing to do with being able ps1 games, cause that shit is already out since 3.00. and no until someone like DA finds a way to be able to trick the fw into thinking that psx isos are the same format as the game dl’d from the PS3 store, having the FW is completely USELESS to us. Not to sound like im bad talking the magic making programmers bringing us DEVHOOK and custom FW se’s, but considering the instability i am experiencing with 3.02 right now i think ima drop back down to my old school 2.71 and just stick with that. Its a shame that emulator prgression is not moving as fast as the FW’s are being cracked… it would be nice if we could have an all in one devhook or se that can handle all emulators and all the games. knowing that the FW SE still has certain games that can not be played correectly on it and none of the classic nes or snes emulators being converted over to a 2.00+ compatability status to operate in a emulated FW devhook enviorment. At this point im just going to quite up a little seeing how i have no idea how to do anything i just suggested. Would just be nice to have things a little more organized… maybe a combination of DEVHOOK and FW SE to have all options someone could want in one place. 1.50 emulator usage and full psp game iso compatability.

Dude, your a MORON. YES 3.03 Has been confirmed to be NEEDED to play the new PS1 for PSP games. It does check that you have the firmware 3.03 to boot them. So go back to your 2.71 and STFU. You know this lets ppl in on how to get into the Decryption of 3.03. So go smoke another fatty and stick with your 2.71..
Wow…you are truely retarded. The psx eboots such as medieval require 3.03. So therefore this does have something to do with being able to play Ps1 games. The new custom firmware runs all my homebrew fine…it sounds like your just to retarded to get it to work.
3.03 increased the limit on the games you can download, it was previously limited to 5 games for each MAC address (5 per psp unit essentually)
FOR ALL THE PEOPLE ASKING UHHHHHH Does this work on 2.8 or 2.7, yes and if it didn’t you can always downgrade unless you have a TA-1763 Motherboard

can someone please explain exaclty what this does…. And is this good for me, i currently have a 3.02 but not planning on getting a ps3 and the ps1 deal, im more into the whole “lets pimp my psp with fonts and games and other ultilities” ordeal. Should i do this?
So, are u currently having the official 3.02 or 3.02 OE-A by Dark_AleX? If you still have faith in firmware 3.xx to be downgradable, den i think you should just stop at 3.02. Don’t upgrade anymore. Now 2.80 can be downgraded, you’ll never know what the future lies in 3.xx!

i wouldnt say so NEAR, but its possible
it just needs a kernal exploit to be found, which isnt always easy

I just got my PSP for christmas, and upgraded it to 3.0.3. Big mistake, I guess. Will the 3.0.3FW on this page help me downgrading/running homebrew/whatever? If so, how do I install it? When I drop it onto my memory stick duo, the PSP claims it is “corrupted data”. Thanks for any help.

this does not help in the downgrade process, nor is it possible to currently downgrade a 3.03 FW PSP
it is also IMPOSSIBLE at the moment to run homebrew on this firmware
this program allows people to create custom firmwares with 3.03 features, and allows devhook to emulate this firmware on 1.50 PSPs
ohh ok… sigh… they just released a 2.80 downgrader but i’m using 2.81 darn it.. oh well i can wait.. i’m sure the hackers are doing their best ^^

can you return to fw 1.50 after installing 3.02 OE-A?
Yes you can, use the Chaos Zero Installer and select the Recovery option back to 1.5, and you be on your way. I did it myself and it worked. So to say :Confirmed!:
2.71 to 1.50? yes you can downgrade 2.71 fw. Just go to PSP Hacks on this website and find ” how to downgrade 2.71…etc.
So I guess this means that for those of us with 2.81 its still not downgradable..or am i wrong?
well eventually someone somewhere will discover an exploit for 2.81… eventually… =/

raymond, you get that error because you are running 3.03 you cant run the dumper under that version.
the dumper is to emulate 3.03

Eddie, No it is not possible to downgrade 3.03 yet. You can only emulate 3.03 if you have a version of firmware 2.81 or earlier that has been downgraded.
