gpSP v0.8 KAI 2.6 Released

takka pleasing the homebrew audience with yet another gameplaySP release. This here solid Nintendo Gameboy Advance emulator, originally developed by Exophase, comes in 3 separate packages: binaries for 1.00 and 1.50 users, and we won’t leave eLoader users in the dark, a fully supported eLoader binary is also available. All 3 are included in the RAR archive below.
What I’m able to gather from the poorly translated changelog is primarily bug fixes and optimizations. Rest assure this emulator remains fast and stable… So enjoy!

On a side note: this is an unofficial gpSP release. Sorry if I gave the impression that Exophase has halted development on gpSP — this is not the case; gpSP 0.9 is currently in the works.

You all are the most ungrateful bunch of losers ever. Just because the “bug” fixes might not effect your favorite pokemon game, doesn’t mean the emulator isn’t making progress. And just because your not seeing a 30% increase in performance you cry.. get a life..
I for one thank Exophase for all the hard work he’s been putting in.. and if you look at the readme.txt you can clearly see, his intentions aren’t for features, its stability and performance.

stuuuuuupid… can’t you see this is not Exophase work? This version of gpSP is by a japanese guy he fix 3 bugs here so insertjapanesegamehere can run properly and breaks 6 things there that makes some other game work if you look on the src you will see he does a pretty half-assed job on it, just wait for the real deal (v0.9 by Exo) then you will see some nice improvement
Dont you just love the psp, all this homebrew goodness (and somtime’s some fag’s make bad one’s that brick our lovely psp’s)

I dont understand, why does this even need updates? It’s 100% fast and even has save states.

Um, kingdom Hearts has been working since before KAI. When Exophase was still running it.
well not 4 me and it still doesnt work? did u dump ur bios urself?for now ill stick with 2.4 i dont really c a difference except for no more sleep mode support
guys, Exophase is still working on this.
KAI releases are unofficial and are somewhat bothersome to Exophase, as he says it’s like competing against himself over his own project.
Latest official release is 0.8
Exophase said 0.9 is underway. No release date though.

uh ???? your an idiot, i stated in last string thta it does work, the problem wit hthe intro… heres what you do when you load it, you press like start or x rapidly till you see the collors get all fued up then you stop, when the intoro is over, itll look normal again

ok stupid question…you are all (presumably) owners of a psp, one of the (if not the) most powerful handheld consoles on the market atm, and you use it to play gambe boy advance games….WHATS WRONG WITH YOU?!!?!
well, while you’re at it why not ask us why we play Nintendo games on here, and SNES, Turbographix 16, Sega Genesis, PX1, MAME arcade games, etc.
OOOOH I know…because ‘most powerful handheld consoles on the market’, which affords us the luxury (thanks to homebrew) of being able to emulate lesser consoles and play any of those games we want. The GBA emu being only a small part of that. Its very nice to be able to play whatever games you want from such a wide selection of systems.

uh hey thanks for the emulator. im kinda new to this stuff and kinda suck at this. can someone tell me how to get the emulator to the psp? like how to get it to build or something. there are lots of files and the only one that says anything about this says ”The makefile is in the psp directory, simply go there and type make. make kxploit will build for 1.5 firmware. Be sure to include
game_config.txt and gpsp.cfg in the same directory as EBOOT.PBP, as
well as gba_bios.bin (not included).”
I can find where the makefile is but how do i actually get it to make the stuff for fw 1.5.=? thanks a bunch in advance.
just put the 1.5 folders in your game directory get a gba bios and name it gba_bios.bin and get some games.(be sure to put that in the gpsp folder not % one)

just to clarify ………kai is not exophase…and yes he is doing great improving exophase work but i should say that minor improvemets just don´t benefits us….. we are as well testing all this versions and finding bugs …all to say….hey this game works a 5% faster than the previous version…its great!!! ……i think i prefer playing than testing. however i´m grateful…
yeah. Exophase is working on 0.9, and rtaher than a bunch of lesser updates, he’s waiting for 0.9 to have a good and proper changelog.

I am glad to hear that Exophase is still at it. I never bothered trying a Kai release- it’s like when you want to buy a tool, do you buy one made in Germany (ie, Exophase), or do you buy one made in china (ie, kai). Lol, that sounded racist, but be assured that it’s simply a fact that Germans rock, even (or especially) amongst the white people (I’m not German ok..).
I installed kai 15 and the sound blew, so I reinstalled gpsp 8 by exophase, much better
um when i put the rom in the game folder it doesent show up on the load new game thing do i have to rename the rom or something.

I hope this emulator will someday get a great GUI like SNES.
I just want it to play Kingdom Hearts (no, it doesn’t load it). But it’s a very good program and I bet noone can program another worthy GBA emulator for PSP. So everyone should be grateful for every little change happening every once in a while.

I think certain games work depending on your firmware version. I have 2.80 and i cant get any games over 8mb to work like kingdom hearts of Legend of zelda: the minish cap, but any games under 8mb seem to work fine.

do you still need a BIOS file? where can i get one
i love this release. It runs perfect on fw2.60 and most of my games run at full speed and if they dont, frameskip 2, and they run perfect. all my games work except yugioh duel monsters experts 2006, maybe cause that is a 33MB game.
