Any programmer with a lick of spit and some C/C++ can write programs for the PSP. All thats need are the PSPSDK from ps2dev.org and a 1.5 PSP. Granted it’s not kosher by Sony’s standard, but that’s how I got started before I got my current job. There’s tons of resources and sample code to show you how to do just about anything.

They were made so developers could make 3D homebrew, but I’ve only seen around 2-3 3D homebrew games…
This will be the third set of tools hopefully when it gets released and cracked people will actually use it…

depends if youre running 2.71-SE or not.
the BEST thing (not the easiest or cheapest) is to get a mod-chip, because it has a secondary flash which can run many things, including other firmware or unbricking utilities.

I think PSP wont have the ability to render such graphics as shown in the video. It just stream the data from the PC and the one who’s doing the rendering job is the PC… That’s why there’s a black cord behind the PSP! (my assumption only)

i’ve installed virtools, and its working,.. not very easy to use,.. but luckily there are tutorials and demo games in the virtools directory( its always fun to mess arround with this stuff :P ).
And for all the people who need help finding and installing it,… dont bother to search any further,… cause if thats already to difficult then im sure you dont understand shit from this app anyway :P

We all already know that everything is pirated. You want it? Go get it. Thats the rules now. You don’t even get arrested for it.
I do not encourage this, but it is the easiest way to get these kinds of things (major company-only software). Either get the $3,000-$100,000 for these for get the pirated version.
Virtools 4 is so hard to use I don’t suggest getting the pirated version anyway. And yes, don’t get pirated content if you can go to the store to buy it, that is just plain lazy.

This software is only avaliable to developers because of how sony wants to kill the source of any importers of the hardware, and any homebrew developers, because they don’t want people to design their own games for the PSP because they won’t get the money for it. This is because in todays society, all companies want is money. If they won’t get lots of money from a product, they don’t want it.

Whats the point of showing us this video if we cant get the software? i mean thats just plain stupid.
Even if you download it nothing can be made for psp, for it requires the full SDK to compile anything for psp… and no one has that. It is a dev only program. And for any dumbshit who thinks you can make psp games with this is a fuckin’ tard. Only 1/2 of the sony psps sdk was thrown into the public, too bad that’s not enough to make a game for it.
I think that being able to easily develop homebrews for PSP would actually convince people once and for all that it’s much better that the DS, and seeing this software really made me think it would finally be possible.
After a few searches, I found out that yes, Virtools 4 is downloadable by torrent, but that the crucial PSP module is only available one request to the company…so not much chance for the moment…
As for the DevKit, I don’t actually see one in the video, so I don’t think you actually need one, although I might be wrong…
To finish, I don’t think it’s an unreleased, advanced version of Flash, because my up-to-date PSP can’t run some of the flash animations and games you find everyday online.
