Does no download mean that it’s only for professional developers, or it’s just not out yet? I sure as hell hope its public; because I would LOVE to see what people come up with.

I dont know, but I would love to see how far people will be willing to push the envelope with this thing, in terms of creating games so messed up and offensive you couldnt possibly buy them in a store. thats what im waiting for. i want to see games like GTA, except with no lines drawn on things like pets and handicapped people. that would totally rock

2006-12-14 07:08:55

how about we creat a game with handicaped peole who go around in there eletric wheel charis and blow the crap out of people like you insted.

just becasue some one is handicaped it dosnet meen they are any less of a person.

no offense, but i didnt enjoy that site at all. the video was cool, but when i went to the site I found myself lost in corporate hell. site’s like that always kind of bother me, because there’s no download link or any kind of ‘buy it’ button for this product. is this thing even available to the general public or do you have to be a developer licensed through Sony to obtain it?

Cindy,

Any programmer with a lick of spit and some C/C++ can write programs for the PSP. All thats need are the PSPSDK from ps2dev.org and a 1.5 PSP. Granted it’s not kosher by Sony’s standard, but that’s how I got started before I got my current job. There’s tons of resources and sample code to show you how to do just about anything.

From virtools.com:

“We’re now looking demonstrating our newly available solutions for the “PSP®” to studios and interested in high quality titles developed smarter,” says Virgile Delporte, vice electronic entertainment for Virtools.”

This devtool is for licensed Sony PSP developers only. Sorry guys.

thats about the same price as Workbrain. that whole 10,000 dollar software thing is bullshit. i think software developers are turning towards that price as a standard fee for big business software because they know they will have companies willing to pay that much.

This will be the third set of tools hopefully when it gets released and cracked people will actually use it…

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Dassault Systemes Virtools v4.0.0.26

The Virtools 4 Life Platform ushers in a unique solution for pervasively
developing and deploying 3D experiences on personal computers, game
consoles, Intranets and the web, demonstrating Dassault Systemes
commitment to bringing the power of 3D to all user communities.

The open-ended architecture of Virtools 4 supports a wide variety of 3D
formats. 3D Content Capture plugins support most commonly used DCC
software formats (3ds Max, Maya, XSI, Lightwave, Collada) for importing
and exporting 3D XML files, making real-time 3D technology easily
available.

Now based on the new Product-Context-Scenario (PCS) paradigm, Virtools 4
allows users to imagine, share and experience highly interactive 3D
content. This new paradigm represents a highly intuitive means of
capturing the 3D experience and easily mapping product behavior, along
with contextual environment scenarios.

With PCS, the Virtools 4 Life Platform enables easy development of
virtual experiences such as driving, shopping, product use, maintenance
and marketing tests.

Virtools 4 also extends the range of target environments for deploying 3D
experiences: Microsoft Windows and Apple MacOS computers, Microsoft Xbox
and Sony PSP game consoles, Intranets via 3D Office and 3D XE Players,
Internet via the 3D Life Player, as well as immersive environments via
the VR Library.

This broad scope highlights the diversity of potential deployment options
and provides a large range of communities with a powerful solution to
create and experience life content.

depends if youre running 2.71-SE or not.
the BEST thing (not the easiest or cheapest) is to get a mod-chip, because it has a secondary flash which can run many things, including other firmware or unbricking utilities.

I think PSP wont have the ability to render such graphics as shown in the video. It just stream the data from the PC and the one who’s doing the rendering job is the PC… That’s why there’s a black cord behind the PSP! (my assumption only)
