I use UMD Dumper to get a dump of the UMD, then I open the sucker up in UMDGEN and remove the UPDATE folder, then run the pad remove option and the optimize, then compress it to CSO with level 5 compression. I get the CSO and put it into my ISO folder, but when I try to play it, all it does is boot to a black screen then to an error message "The game could not be started. (80020148)." What could I possibly be doing wrong? Ok. I do believe there is a version for Mac OS X, it will emulate windows programs and since the UMDGen is probably just a simple app, im sure it will function properly under wine.
