I was impressed by booster on emulating the 3.01, since i thought the reason for 3.01 release is to correct the bugs in 3.00…However, booster simply emulates the 3.01 instead of working on 3.00. Booster pwned Sony, and 3.02 would not be a problem.

Who the hell cares about this firmware anyway? It’s not like any game will ever require it, and there are clearly no real features. Even if it couldn’t be easily cracked (which it was), it wouldn’t be worth doing.

I wonder why everybody is so negative about Sony. Thanks to this corp. we have the mighty machine that keeps amazing me. Obviously they have faith in a successfull future for the PSP otherwise they would not be so active in spending money to improve it. We can only benefit from their efforts. Advice to Sony: Support Home-brew, it’s gonna happen anyway..quit wastin your time updating the PSP with useless updates and get to workin on the PS3 games. I’ve heard alot of bad things about the PS3 as far as games!!!

steps to add firmware 3.02 to your psp devhook 0.51 beta installation:

1. create a folder with the name 302 in your memory sticks /dh directory
2. copy the f0 folder from 301 of the original devhook 0.51beta into /dh/302
3. know copy your dumped f0 folder over to /dh/302
4. copy the f1 folder from /dh/301 to /dh/302
5. open the file /dh/05beta/menu/menu_fw.txt and add the following:

#55, just go back to you original FW, rebbot you psp, turn it back on, and go again on DH but this time set it on the CPU CLOCK 266/333 and choose the iso. once it loads go on the umd game and it should work. dont change it from the menu That shows up from the XMB

Sony should have done that a long time ago.

The problem wif sony is that they are trying to be a luxury brand (higher price,higher quality games).Their constant security updates is just for the purpose of getting money from new users(those who bought new psp and those who can’t downgrade.)What keeps the new users from paying is that they are at a platform where is that cant access to homebrew applications and they cant wait for homebrew.So some users will keep buying games and upgrading reluctantly.

The tragedy is that all this security has prevent homebrew users from spending $$. I mean right now besides from getting a bigger memory stick, i can’t pretty much buy any psp games cause of the firmwares upgrades and stuff even if there are games that i want to purchase.

If sony could just charge certain aspects of the psp but not the games, i think they would have earned more $$ since they are prob losing make more security upgrades than getting the revenue from the minorities who could buy games and play on their psp.

You guys are wrapped in your own little hacker world though…… HONESTLY, what percentage of PSP’s are hacked…. probably about 10%,,, if that….The majority of PSP owners (little kids or what have you) have no idea that a PSP could even be hacked. I hacked a friend at works PSP and he had no idea that such a thing could even be done. Now he thinks it’s about the coolest thing. Most people when buying a PSP (i.e. the parents buying one for little johnny this weekend at best buy for xmas) have no intention of ever even imagining of possibly hacking the thing…. Little johnny may if he’s savvy though, but the majority of people out there ARE NOT SAVVY.

I don’t think that these updates have anything to do with us, and sony isn’t losing all that much because of us. These updates are most likely b/c of the PS3.
If sony was losing too much on PSP, they’d abandon it instead of develop features for PS3. THey’re obviously headed in the right direction concerning our PSP futures.

I got a sony future prospectus thingy in the mail about the ps3 that outlined the future compatibility between the two, and it talked about it being a radar mapper, rearview mirror for racing games, PS3 controller,,,, etc etc…. it said to wait for further developments. It’s possible that MGS is waiting to come out b/c of all this updating also. Many people may not be able to play it when it comes out briefly b/c they didn’t know they were 3 weekly updates behind.

Well, gAys, I’m SCE CEO & the next firmware 4.00, which will be released by 1’st Jan 2007 will allow loading unsigned code from MS, as well as it will allow loading ISO files of PSP & native unmodified ISO files of PSX without any certificate.

theres no reason to download this unless you PLAN to use your PSP in conjunction with a PS3
and even then its likely to not be required
its a security and probably a fix with PSP-PS3 combination features

if you dont know how to run this firmware on devhook, dont bother, your not missing anything new, and it will save you alot of time and trouble on trying to figure it out

OK guys i have installed this in Devhook and have it running… just do everything as u would with the 3.01 instruction… as there is no 302 folder i stuck it in the 301 folder and it works just fine

Be careful with these devhook things, on the very last version of devhook that only supprorted up to 3.01, I almost bricked or semi bricked my PSP. My ACTUAL flash1 got corrupted just simply from pressing the “Start Devhook” button on top. It had been working fine previously, until all of a sudden in this instance, it quit back to the actual flash XMB and showed the blue screen of death that Flash1 was corrupted. Thankfully it was properly reflashed, and it deleted the devhook files from flash1. It was still able to run with full functionality without the flash1:dh files.

Now im using the 3.02 devhook. Works like a charm. MAKE SURE you use the devhook easy installer. Makes your life a hell of a lot easier.
