something weird… i can load the devhook, but when i go to load up the psar dumper, it locks up and shuts off my psp anyone else have this happen?

Thank god…I hate flashing anything to the PSP. This is much more easier and less riskier than downgrading and upgrading. D_A is the man forever.

..i tried..i used a 2.82 dump and ..loaded my 2.71 beta for .51 …but as i went to FlashRom to install flash 1 ..laoded screen was blue…still a hoax!!

One question, does anyone else find that hard resetting the system and then reloading into 3.01 makes it so you have to go through the initial settings again (choose language, nickname, etc)? I never had to do that with previous versions before.. But still, this is a great release!

The next step with the HEN-D for 2.71 is to somehow make it possible to install 2.71 SE with it.

When DAX figures this out (if it is possible) TA-082 problems will be behind us.

Do I still need to do the “FLASH INSTALL” from the devhook 0.51 menu?
When I tried without the flash install, it just returns to normal 2.71.

Ok, I know that this sounds totally like a noob thing to ask, but I’m having major issues here . . . I do the HenD Tiff, load up the new DEVHook 2.71 Beta, choose my backed up iso, it only gives me a few choices for firmware (from 2.71 on up), default the CPU speed, and start devhook. Nothing ever happens. What am I doing wrong?

uhhh, its not working. i did all the extracting psar and stuff
and its all in the right folders.
i ran hend. went to dev051b.
i selected 301 and started. didnt work.
becasue it said
“startup the devhook
save launcher setting
loading devhook
dh ver 0.45.0000
reboot system”
and it stayed at that screen till i hardresetted.

then i did all that again, and in devhook i did the flashinstall devhook thing.
then selected 301
and still didntt work.

I did not believe in Miracles until now… this is AWESOME! You guys are amazing! WOW! After hours of doing this i finally figured it out.. you have to run the HEND, and use the devhook to go to 1.5, this worked for me, then you go on USB, then put in all the necessary files, like the DATA.PSAR, (I did 3.01) and the PSAR dumper, and run all that, after all of it, delete all the dh files you use (I had 1.5, and 2.6, it is good to copy them onto your desktop, so you can just re-install them later) and restart the machine, you then run the HEND again, and launch the .51 devhook for 2.71, and follow all the steps as the 1.5 version (I did it to a buddy’s psp, so I was able to follow the same steps, although i refered back to the site for guidance) then after all that, it should run, if yes, re-put all the files for the original devhook for 2.71, so you can emulate 1.5 ( and any others) again, It worked for me, although I hate the fact that when I start the 3.01, it boots that setup screen, where you choose the language and stuff, but I guess beggars can’t be choosers, and it beats not having it, hope this helps! One again, Awesome work! Keep it up! WE ARE NOT WORTHY!

Doh, stupid me *smacks self for not reading the description*. I have psardumper downloaded, however my PSP is a japanese one. Will I be able to use the 3.01 US firmware on my japanese PSP to get the dump?

now my 2.71 can run 1.5, 2.71 and 3.01.

hey #37 i figured it out, make sure you Go into the “301″ directory, move the reboot.bin into the f0 folder.

so there is no way to use homebrew besides iso’s with this package. at least for us ta-082 2.71 users. hopefully we get 1.5 support. for everyone having problems there is an auto install on qj.net

yes i have a 2.71 psp with hen d. use the 4X devhook launcher go to 1.5. then follow the instructions for the install. after it installs you have to remove the older devhooks from your memory stick. it should work, i had no problems. i’m glad the autoexec mod works with hen d

so then doesnt that mean you cant make an ‘easy installer’ for this thing? i saw one posted up above but i think it could be the “some kid” person from the previous thread trying to fool us again. though it is on the qj site, so it may be legit. still, they could have overlooked it maybe? i dont see how you can make an easy installer if prepared dumps cant be installed.

i really hope Dark Alex finds a way though. I’m kind of fuzzy on the whole PSAR Dumper thing, and PBP Unpacker, and stuff like that. Im not a noob, but im not a computer engineer either. Some of this stuff kind of leaves me scratching my head. I never got Stella working for example. the only instructions that came with it seemed to be for other versions of stella, like for windows, linux, and mac. so yeah, some of us need things explained and dumbed down a little.

This is what I did and it worked first time.

1. I already had HEN-D and the Dev Hook Launcher installed with 1.5 firmware files
2. I installed the .51 port so all the files were there 3.01 etc
3. I installed the 3.01 Firmware installer
4. I put the 3.01 eboot in the root.
5. I loaded the 4.X launcher port to emulate firmware 1.5
6. I ran the firmware installer from the emulated 1.5
7. I did a hard reboot.
8. I loaded the 0.51 port and select 3.01 firmware and the default cpu clock and an ISO I had and it worked fine.

Uhm…whats Hen-D ? Ive got a 1.5……i use DevHook 0.46 to emulate up to 2.71 ?

Can i use this, and what firmware can i run. i have lumines 2 and killzone waiting to be played

I can get devhook .51 working on my 1.5 fine,

but when trying with my 2.71 it does not work!

When I get to the install firmware part my devhook has a different menu than described.

for 1 in the top menu of devhook, I have FLASH INSTALL.

secondly, when I enter this menu this is what comes up:

install configfile to flash1
backup DH config from flash1
uninstall DH files from flash 1

install PSP font to flash0
install kd/resource to flash0
uninstall DH files from flash0

I get the same menu with the 1.5 version also, with my 1.5 I choose to install configfile to flash1 and I installed kd/resource to flash0, this worked.

but with the 2.71 all I can get is that:

startup the devhook, blah blah, reboot system.

can anyone help, I feel ashamed to ask and will now hang my head in the shame of being a NOOB!

With devhook 0.45 for 2.71, emulate 1.50 and use psardumper to extract the firmware/s you want (remember that from 2.80 and greater this is specific to each psp so you can’t just download a prepared dump).

Here are easy to follow instructions, posted by Steven-style:

1. Remove all previous DevHook files from your memory stick.
2. Copy the DevHook 0.51 package to the root of your memory stick. This would be ms0:/ and the two folders should be “dh” and “PSP”.
3. Download the 3.01 update (search Google) or PSP Hacks.
4. Get PSARDumper
5. Extract the DATA.PSAR from the 3.01 update you’ve downloaded with a program such as PBP Unpacker. Once thats done, copy the DATA.PSAR over to the root of your memory stick.
6. Run PSARDumper on your PSP, once its loaded up press X to dump a sigchecked 3.01. Once its done your PSP will return to the main menu.
7. Open up your memory stick, you will now see that there is an “F0″ folder in the root. Move that to the “301″ folder inside of “dh”.
8. Go into the “301″ directory, move the reboot.bin into the f0 folder.
9. Launch up DevHook and go to “FLASH ROM” settings, choose install dh to flash1. DO NOT touch any of the other settings unless you know what you’re doing.
10. Finally, choose “FIRMWARE” from the DevHook menu and pick 3.01. Now start DevHook and you should be good to go!

I’ve got a TA-082 + 2.71. Here is my problem. I went through the calo install/instructions of HEND/dh .51. Everything works perfectly fine during the install. After everything is said and done, I try to emulate 3.01. So, in dh, I select the 3.01 fw emulation (and choose an iso to emulate), and exit dh. My PSP reboots just fine. However, 3.01 isn’t emulated. I go to the system info, and it says that system software is 2.71 HEN-D. Also, the file emulation doesn’t work at all. When I put a UMD disk in (as with dh .46 – which worked absolutely fine for me), it just displays that actual game in the GAME menu.

Thoughts?

i have a 1.5 psp. with this program am i able to upgrade my firmware to the recent 3.1 so that i could play the official games, and then use this to emulate my old 1.5 firmware so i could still use homebrew applications and run roms and what not? thanks ^^

To anyone still checking this thread. Is anyone while attempting to emulate 3.01 getting the Blue error screen with all the text, but the devhook menu is still up. I know I am doing everything right cause I did the same thing for 2.82 it keep doing the same thing
