Howto Load Custom Gameboots from Memory Stick

Here’s a quick ‘n dirty guide to loading custom gameboot videos off your memory stick instead of flash. It’s probably a wise practice if you’re scared to flash due to the certain risks involved.

first off get a decrypted 2.71 dump
get a hex editorwith your hex editor look in vsh/module/opening_plugin (of the decrypted dump)
do ctrl+f and find gameboot.pmfflash0:/vsh/resource/gamboot.pmf
i changed to
ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/gameboot.pmf
start from the F in flash0:/ and rewrite the whole line
use filer to flash modded opening_plugin to flash0:/vsh/nodle
this is a great mod for those of you who have jamesbdx’s patch and want a custom gameboot.
if you dont have a memory stick in and load a umd, it will just show a gameboot similar to the 0kb gameboot. and game will still work!

Yeah, this should be safer than X-flash or similar.
Once you use X-flash you can’t run a update ever without your PSP bricking, I think it’s got to do with rewriting files to flash that have been deleted or altered so they don’t match the files being copied when updating- but who would wanna update anyway!

U must have custom firm ware then connect your psp to you computer Via usb then make a new folder called ISO (use all caps) then drag ur game in and ur good.(and if you game is zipped and is a cso you will need to get winrar and unzip it then copy it to your ISO folder
