Well I tried this and I can not get it to work. All I got for 2.82 was the brick screen where you can press O to reset the configuration but it did nothing. Can someone post a zipped DH folder that I can drag and drop on my mem stick with 2.82 FW?

For some reason, the photo plugin is corrupted and doesn’t work… does this happen to anyone else?

When I run DevHook 0.50 with 2.82, it loads and then shows the blue screen of death saying my settings are corrupt, whatever. I press circle, it reboots 2.82 and I just get the same screen again.

The only thing I didn’t do according to the instructions was not to flash DevHook to flash0. Is that what is causing this problem?

I think Chaos Zero is out of commission until he can raise enough bucks to get another PSP. His unit got bricked earlier in the month. 2.82 works with my AIO Package.

I have used 2 seperate installer packages and both do the same. I have to move the eboot into the GAME150 folder for devhook to load at all otherwise it hangs at the PSP logo loading screen.

After this it runs and i can see the menu and choose a umd/iso but once press start the psp screen goes black and turns off after a few seconds? Do i have to install the flash1 config file to get it to start as i dont want to do this unless absolutly necessary?

I’ve downloaded the packes (AIO) and does this manually and I can confirm that it just Isn’t working, everytime I got to start, It just shuts off after a few seconds.

Loaded, I followed your very easy to use Devhook pacakage and I got the same result as when I went ahead and decrypted and installed the Firmware files myself; a black screen that lasts 10 seconds and then my PSP shuts off. I am using FW 1.50 and I installed the config files to flash.

Hm… I did put the fixed sound file in there… sound works for me. I’ll upload it separately one sec…

guys i don’t think u can use someone else’s package because the files have a signature which is different for every psp. you probably have to follow all directions and do this urselves.

If you look at the top of your PSP screen, it should say that it has finished (the text overwrites the previous text automatically). I dunno, but you can try pressing Circle or something and see if it works…

Make sure you’re hitting X when decrypting 2.82 and not Square. I was hitting Square on both and getting the black screen problem. After actually doing it right, boots fine.

The problem when choosing Flash1 is that i get an error message saying that the dumper can’t find the folder f1 and then it stops.

I would assume that i could put a folder there called f1 but then again i’ll wait until someone clarifies what the issue might be. Did the installer peeps just forgot this or what?

forgot to add that you need to go into recovery mode(pressing r trigger on load) and change the kernal to 1.5, 2.71 kernal wont work with dev .50, it will just freez on you

That worked like a charm. Because unlike the installers that have been posted here this one contains the f1 folder (for me). Apparently the installers have contained it for the people that have gotten it to work:)

If you follow the fwinstall.txt file included with devhook it will work.

Anyone using firmwares 2.80 and up DON’T READ FURTHER. Theres no way right now for this to work. Just wait for some downgrader or any other Hack discovered. THIS IS FOR FIRMWARE 1.5 or 2.71 SE.

I followed Calo’s guide and it’s now working great, Just to point out, When you first run 2.82 DevHook will say it’s an usupported Firmware but just Ignore this, the PSP will be like a fresh update so you chave to choose language, time settings, etc, all again, but once this is done, you can go and change the settings to how you like and from there on, it works good, I ahven’t tried Web Browser as I don’t use that, but I have tried VCS both UMD and ISO/CSO Work. Only time DevHook crashes is when i try and return to the XMB after playing a game, it just freezes on Please Wait and then turns off.

can I emulate 1.5 using my 2.8 with this devhook?

So, I wiped my memory stick, re-installed HENB, install DH .5 stuff. HENB works fine, but when I go to launch DH .5, I get the “This game cannot be started, the data is corrupted” error. I’m running a TA-082 mobo.

Any thoughts?

OK – Further to my earlier message (#155) whereby I could not get the new DevHook running – HERE IS HOW TO GET IT RUNNING:-

(Before we start, I have a 1.5 PSP running Devhook 0.45 and I have never written to the flash before).

1. Thanks to Ash (Message #180) I too followed Calo’s guide to the letter and it worked a treat.

REMEMBER – I have a PSP 1.5 previously unflashed.

I do not know whether the guide works the same for Devhook 2.71 SE-B or SE-C.

hi does anyone know how to make the internet work when firmware 2.82 is emulated, it just crashes and shuts down for me

and for #187, to get pes6 to work you have to:
1. get UMDGen and open up the .iso
2. delete pes6.pmf
3. open up notepad and save the blank file as pes6.pmf (make sure it doesn’t have .txt at the end)
4. drag this new pes6.pmf into UMDGen to where the original one was
5. convert back to .iso
6.enjoy!

Easier way to get pes6 to work is to use winrar to unpack the iso file and delete the UPDATE folder (located inside PSP_GAME/SYSDIR folder).

Remake ISO using UMDGEN and off you go. Makes the ISO smaller in size too.

Because I thought it was for FW 2.80 also, I was happy to finally see some progress. But I found out IT ISNT for 2.80 firmwares, since it doesn’t even work.

Man… can’t people put somewhere what firmware is req? I’ve been busy the whole day to get it working and then finally notice that it isn’t even for 2.8+. The only thing thats is 2.80 is that this DevHook EMULATES that FirmWare.

The installation hangs at 70% and doesnt go any further. What am I doing wrong, im more than sure i’ve followed the instructions given.

On 20 November 2006, It was confirmed that flash0 access on 2.80 is possible and custom gameboots have been flashed on to a psp running 2.80 firmware. Although a downgrader has not been made yet this has opened up the path to making one.

Ok, now my PSP’s screen has broken, so i’m gonna be going on alot of off guess here in the help [tho DevHook is normally my strong suite for help] so here goes

well, are you running it at the highest speed? 333MHz?, that was always the major prob with 2.71 being emulated, so try a lower CPU speed and once ur connected to a network [i.e.: make it to a web page], then push it up to 333MHz, but to get it running i suggest the default speed 222MHz

i have 2.81…can i downgrade?? if i can how????? plllllzzzzz HELPPPP!!!!

thanks for the reply, i run it using the default speed but had no luck, didnt think to try it in 333mhz but oh wells, went back to devhook 0.46.

additional note which may be useful to some:
1. you don’t need devhook 0.50 to play pes6, works fine in devhook 0.46.

2.when having devhook 0.50 loaded and playing pes6, the psp crashes and shuts down when you try put it in standby. i don’t know if this was just for me or just for this game but thought i’d tell you anyway.

Since using Devhook 0.50 for a day, I’ve discovered that quite a few iso’s crash and shut down when you try to exit them, then the PSP starts back up in FW1.50.

It is a BETA release though, so some teething problems expected.

i can get pes6 and fm2007 to work but the sahara game crashes on the title and genesis collections crashes while its loading a level

OK, here’s another thing – CSO support is 50/50. Sometimes CSO files work, sometimes they don’t. Convert them back to ISO and they work (relatively, even though Devhook 0.50 has some bugs).

Remember People….this is a BETA version. It does exactly what it says on the tin!

Chaos Zero and Booster will get it sorted.

By the way, if I want to go back to Devhook 0.45, do I just format my memory stick and re-install the 0.45 Devhook or do I have to remove the stuff written to the flash. If so, how do I remove the stuff written to the flash with DH 0.50.

I saw some comment that it has been officially tested to work on a FW 2.80. Now I wonder is this really true? Since so far I haven’t seen anything about that yet..

Also if it actually does work, how will I be able to use it? Since the PSU Dumper doesn’t even start.

When I use devhook v.0.50 emulate 2.82 FW or 2.71 FW I can’t play some old game like monster hunter freedom.

If I use HEN-C or HEN-D and emulate fw1.5 using devhook 0.47, will I be able to install this properly?

i installed it and ran it with two memory cards i have a ta-082 i ran dev .45 emulated 1.5 ran it then installed .50 on a sep mem stick =) alot of work but it did work
