it will be a while before this is run on Devhook or a 1.5/3.0 hybrid (3 SE) is made because 3.0 uses a whole new filesystem.

I say wait it out a bit longer, see what more tricks they have up their sleeves. Sony hasn’t released the PS3 worldwide just yet, so expect a few more Firmware updates soon enough, I’d say wait until a month after it’s out in Europe before starting on cracking/downgrading/exploiting etc…

Next thing u know, Sony will release 3.02 and by the time PSP-hacks.com posts it, they will say “Sony releases 3.02 firmware. 3.02 Firmware has been decrypted already! 3.0 was supposed to be a MAJOR release, and as long as we waited for the firmware, seems like Sony would have done more to encrypt it, but sucks for Sony, good for us :)

well, that didn’t take long. thing that sux is that we’ll still have to pay for the games and have to buy the ps3 to get ps1 games. Good thing though, once devhook gets support I bet sony will be scrambling.

This is nothing more than a program that allows you to decrypt the 3.0 and 3.01 FW files so you can learn how to develop homebrew for it.

It will still be some time before they can use this to emulate it (in devhook) or even build a 3.0 SE.

On a side note, this is welcome news. I was just coming to the site to remove 2.71 SE as the only thing it can do that I want (SNES emulation) it sucks at. Now, I have a reason to stay.

It certainly is a surprise, as it has just come out within a week, is supposed to be more secure, and people hadn’t been able to crack 2.8 yet (or so I hear).

Hmm, I suppose in theory that any PS1 game downloaded to someone’s PSP would be either:
A. Available for use in PS1 emulators for PC and
B. Able to copy the file to another PSP and run it there.

Unless they have some copy protection or w/e that makes the PS1 game download specific for your PSP (like encoding the MAC address into the game iso). I doubt Sony’d let people just transfer the PS1 game freely.

Assuming anyone here actually upgraded one of his PSP’s to a FW that we do not have a downgrader for and probably won’t for months, it would be a file that would only work on other PSP’s that are also of this new FW.

Basically, until we can get this into devhook or we go to 3.0 SE, it would only be for non-modded PSP’s.

I meant ISO’s too. Until we can get the 3.0 FW to run homebrew software (by emulating via devhook or by a 3.0 SE) the PS1 emu program should be off limits to anyone but those with unmodded, normally upgraded PSP’s.

Unless they came out with homebrew that runs in native 3.0 FW (like some work for the 2.71 NON-SE for the TA-82 users), TA-82 is incapable of running any kind of FW related to FW older than 1.5. Since 2.71 SE (and probably 3.0 SE) runs on 1.5, that is why TA-82 users CANNOT use 2.71 SE.

I do not see you using a 3.0 SE FW, but I can possibly forsee you running some HB on just plain 3.0 (or 3.01, whatever we adopt).

Anyway, as for 76, I believe you can run devhook for 2.71 NON-SE, so if your PSP’s already 2.71 or lower, you should be able to run ISO’s on a TA-82.

Not much else, but devhook works on it. :D

Just wait patiently for a 3.0 devhook. It should allow you to run ISO’s on your TA-82. Worst case scenarion, there’ll be a 3.0/3.01 downgrader available too (WARNING: YOUR TA-82 CANNOT BE DOWNGRADED, IF AT ALL, BELOW 2.50.)

i have a frimware 2.71 ta-082 i cant load isos that are firmware 2.80 or 1 is there a 2.71 loader that loads 2.80 isos for ta-082?

i downloaded this but I have no idea what to do, it didnt come with any instructions. I know where to put the two folders, in the GAME folder, but the “makefile” and “main.c” files…I have no clue what to do with those. Also, how do i extract the PSAR from the Eboot in ‘the usual way’? Whats the usual way for doing that? Throw some of us a bone here and dumb down the instructions a little so they are a little more clear. Also, I was wondering if the 3.01 upgrade comes with the PS1 emu and if you can just load PS1 files you have on there or if you have to use a PS3 to get them loaded.

ALL YOU DOWNLOADED THIS PIECE if your NOT a developer don’t bother asking question ‘how to use this / please give step by step help’ because it’s not for you… otherwise you wouldn’t have asked in the first place. IT WILL DO NOTHING… best is to wait for future updates.

PLUS I have ta082 on 2.71 and I can play ISOs, and emulate 1.5 for some homebrews, and also have a loader for those compatible. Its just too bad I cannot make use of the 271SE custom fw, but I’m pretty cool with my ISOs (cause I use my psp for gaming only and I’m not that interested with the other homebrew apps coming out).

Hope Dark_Alex will make a way for the custom firmwares to be available for ta082 mobos. To all those who say that it is impossible - suck you tits at the same time, you’re just too damn illiterate technically.

OK, for ll of u that don’t know, dumped means they pretty much extracted the files from the update’s eboot. decrypted im not quite sure but i belive thats what they do so devhook can run the FW dump. if you don’t know what devhook is, devhook is a program that lets people on versions 1.50 1.00 and 2.71 to change there version but be able to go back to the previous version. devhook is mainly used for loading games that require higher fw versions on a lower version psp. thats about as much as i can tell u off the top of my mind. hope i helped.

may take a long time but sony will never get rid of all the hackers in this world/other planets lol
