thats good for 1.5 users but i dont understand how this helps people on se-b because i can already run iso’s that require 2.81 from the game folder liberty city stories is a key example so how does this help?

This is NOT a bloody downgrader. It’s a version of devhook that works for 1.5/2.71 SE-B so it should, now, work with 2.80 game ISOs.

Doesn’t seem to work for 2.81 or higher (Gitaroo Man Lives! umd, but oh well.

I was gonna test this out for the Regular DevHook 2.71 and IT DOES NOT INSTALL ANYTHING. If you install it to a empty folder the folder is still empty when finished. The installer does not contain Normal 2.71 files. Inless I’m blind and the Invisible file selection is blind. It doesn’t contain normal 2.71 files.

I triend Running this with Hen C emulating 1.5, but devhook for 2.71 freezes before loading 1.5.

So once the installer is perfected, we’ll be able to emulate 2.80 w/ DH on a 1.5 or 2.71 SE? Will this mean that we can play 2.8 content directly off of the UMD? And if so, how much longer till we can play 2.81 and 2.82 games directly off of the UMD, Ace Combat X, for instance?

The new 2.8+ games wont run with stock SEB, you either need to modify the iso (pain) or use modified devyhook.

lets hope SEC gives us this, or better yet sec.

This doesn’t work with untouched Thrillville, it boots then goes to a black screen and then ur psp turns off.

i have a frimware 2.71 ta-082 i cant load isos that are firmware 2.80 or 1 is there a 2.71 loader that loads 2.80 isos for ta-082?

@ alex, yea just load Dev Hook 0.46 and change the Umd Version : 2.xx -> 2.00 in Dev Hook.

Umd Select : your iso game
Boot Select : Reboot XMB
Umd Mount : Iso Anyumd
Firmware : 2.71
Cpu Clock : No Change
Umd Version : 2.xx -> 2.00 (IMPORTANT!!!!!!)

@49: Yes it should work with UMDs as well, as the same PRX are loaded for ISOs as they are for UMDs under devhook (as i understand it)..

But yes, please remember people, DevHook will only be able to play 2.80+ ISOs/UMDs if you enable the 2.xx -> 2.00 option

how do i enable 2.XX?? by just selecting it from the memstick. do i have to do that first. then load devhook? or viseversa.

Thrillville FULL iso still dosnt work for me, gets past the first loading screen, and the save game screen, then screen just goes blank, and PSP shuts down, but oh well :)

@55: This is basically a new version of Devhook that has 2.71 firmware, BUT with a difference, the Games run under a sort of hybrid 2.71-2.80 firmware, currently if you try to play 2.80+ ISOs that arent hacked to make them run under 2.71 properly they wont work with the normal version of 2.71 emulated firmware for Devhook, this new version is meant to make those ISOs and UMDs run straight under devhook without any patches made to the ISO. Usually when ISOs go on the net, the full ISO RIP will be uploaded first, then someone will come out with a fix to make it run, otherwise we wouldnt be able to play the new ISOs at all, but dont forget, its still emulating firmware 2.71, so you still have to have the 2.xx -> 2.00 option enabled under devhook so that they actually run.

This is a hybrid version of fw 2.71/2.8 for devhook 0.46.

It is only used for 2.71 se-b and 1.5.

It is not a downgrader

The theory is basically extracting some files(PRX) from 2.80 update and combining it with 2.71 firmware update(DUMP).

This is to enable certain 2.80 games to be played(THRILLVILLE,YGO GX)Yes, without this hybrid there will be prob loading these games.

Finally, if u own a 2.80 psp or u dont have a Devhookl, u cannot use this.

I hope this clears things up for most sheepos…….

Hi all. I just Flashed 2.71SE-B onto PSP over 1.5, thinking this is a Good idea.
Now I’m stuck in it, can’t read the MS and it crashes while trying to open the \GAMES folder.
Tried downgrading the Tiff method, but also crashes after a While.
Does anyone have A idea what could be done?

Use recovery mode. Hold down right trigger at start up then choose the recovery mode option.
