2.71 SE-B” MP3 Module v0.3b
greg | November 21, 2006
joek2100’s mp3 module allowing in-game mp3 playback under FW 2.71 SE-B” has been updated to v0.3b — and the change log says…
- Added an independent volume button
- Should make startup faster
- Made the on screen display stay on when Note + Square is pressed
- Added volume and filename to the on screen display
Copy Install and PSP folders to the root of your memory stick.
Then run UMFR2 For GAME mode and/or UMFR2 For VSH(XMB) mode depending on where you want the module to be loaded.
Finally, the controls:
(The Note button is to the left of select)
- Note + Left Trigger = pause/resume playback
- Note + Right Trigger = switch playback mode between random and sequential
- Note + D-Pad Left = previous song (only in sequential mode)
- Note + D-Pad Right = next song
- Note + D-Pad Up = Volume up (for the mp3)
- Note + D-Pad Down = Volume Down (for the mp3)
- Note + Triangle = Change CPU speed
- Note + Square = Toggle On Screen Display (default off)
- Note + Circle = Reload list of mp3 files (needed if you change the files in the music folder using usb)
- Note + Cross = Change brightness level (from current up to maximum)
When READY is displayed in the bottom left hand corner, press Note+Left Trigger to start playback.
Enjoy!

Very nice, But when is someone going to make this firmware run 2.81 games?
like GTA VC and Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force?
Good work any way!
ummm VC plays fine on 2,71 se…. Hope this release is stable i really want to try this .. will wait and see what other say
Sweet that you are making hacks for 2.71SE-B”, but don’t just about all games have enough sound? I mean, wouldn’t it conflict with the game sound, even if you are mixing them? Or does it completly disable the game sound.
it is mixing the sound of the game and the MP3..
Upgrade like you was doing a fresh install?
just install the module..
finally..the NOTE+SQUARE button will permanently display the information..unlike the previous version where the information is briefly display…
everything works fine!
All my install are with custom gameboots/backgrounds/other prxs/etc. I know abt the reduce compatibility on the psp.
On the previous version i can install the XMB installer, it works but for GAME it semi-brick after install. I can only use the XMB.
Now i can both install it without hassle. Now the problem is i can’t run cso games. It hang after gameboot screen. I can only use the XMB like last time. Hiaz~
This mod works great while playing both ISO’s/CSO’s & UMD’s.
HOWEVER, If you have another Overclocking Mod, This will conflict with it.
So if you want to play Multiplayer in a Game, you can’t use this
Correction, It will work, but you can’t change the clock speed
#7 i have the same problem. i tried to install this (i think i messed it up some how), and then i completely removed this software, now i cannot load cso’s in devhook…. how the hell do i fix this ??? if i brick my psp its suicide again for me
does anyone know how to change the mp3 speed in xmb mine play’s 3x faster and it plays 3x fast on irshell does anyone know how to change it please? or where to download irshell for se-b thanks in advance
#10 Just Uninstall the GAME prx. Or maybe both of them. If fails reinstall se-b.
i hav no idea wot the GAME prx is and i still hav no idea how to install this homebrew….woteva, i jus put 2.71se-b on so im happy :)
#8 i play socom online while using this
does this flash to the psp’s internal memory or does it only mess with the devhook files? I dont’ touch flashing programs as i don’t have extra cash to get a new psp or too send mine away.
i got a 2.81 psp i downloaded the software but i can only play songs(MP3) in the music folder at home page place but how can i play whilst playing grand teft auto vice city stories?
#16 this involves flashing so u need kernal access which 2.81 doesnt have. you cant use this.
#3 most games u can turn the in-game music off and juz leave the sound effects on and play. most emulators have this option to turn all in-game music and sound effects off except for the gpsp.
