X-Flash V16f Released
greg | November 13, 2006
Never seizing to amaze is Art with yet another release of the dual-firmware supported X-Flash. X-Flash V16f ensures smooth operation on both firmwares — Dark_AleX’s 2.71 SE-B3 and 1.50.
New for X-Flash V16f (includes V16e changes):
- Bug fix to built in plain black backgrounds. (firmware version 2.71 SE)
- Fixed 2.71 SE file inflation bug. Several rco files, once modified, were being written back appended with zeros to match the larger size of their 1.50 firmware counterpart. This causes more consumption of memory on flash0, and possible verify failures if there is no remaining space. This bug has been present since V16.
- Set PSP nickname to “raw” to find an option to perform a complete 32Mb binary flash dump. The raw dump routine is an sdk sample. (firmware versions 1.50 or 2.71 SE)
- Built in Plain Black Wallpapers are 1×1 resolution to collectively save approx 70 Kb of space over the stock XMB backgrounds. (firmware version 2.71 SE)
Check out “X-Flash V16f.txt” for a complete changelog, including V16c and V16d.
This software enables modification of certain PSP firmware behaviour, it is to be used with caution and at your own risk.

i just wana kno if thers a downgrader for 2.71se-a.i want my hb back!
@4 – There is. Use the recovery menu.
4, you want your hb back? 2.71 se runs “all” 1.5 homebrew, and 2.71 hen c homebrew. And now with X-flash being updated the way it is, there is virtually no use in 1.5 except for legacy purposes. SE has all but eliminated devhook as well, with the ability to run ISO’s from the game menu.

2.8 eloader when?
What that shitting Japanses said on the 7th post?
What F*** is that?
sweet, any1 no where i can get some custom gameboots??
When is there a 2.8-281 downgrader comming out??…….has anyone even started yet?, this has been the longest wait for a downgrader yet
Hey did anyone realize that the person spelled behavior wrong?
@11
It will probably be a while, I know for a fact these new motherboards that come with the PSP will only allow downgrading to 2.50 or 2.60 (something like that).
The best solution would be if Dark_AleX somehow wrote the 2.71 SE installer for HEN C, then atleast people would be able to use that firmware, and get most homebrew capabilities.

how long do u think we have to wait for dev hook on 2.81
I love this line from the readme:-
“The absence of the power adapter (mains cable) will also trigger a prompt to plug it in before continuing
if the battery is not present, or battery condition is very low.”
Just how will it prompt you to plug in the mains cable when there’s no battery present?
Other than that its great, black XMB on black PSP looks fantastic.

@16
You can plug it in and take out the battery, just in case of a power failure. You need to think about things.
@18 Read it again, it says it will prompt you to plug in the power adaptor (i.e. the power adaptor is not present) if there is no battery present. I’ve used it with just a battery and no power cable and it goes off and checks then says power is ok before continuing, Doesn’t say anything about telling you to stop being a dick and put your battery back in in case of a power cut.
i think that there should be a downgrader out there for the 2.71 se B” because i up graded but i can not play socom 2 but on my other psp with FW 1.5 it works fine. HELP DARK ALEX I need to play Socom 2
I noticed the adult friend finder ad was back up and nearly threw up when i saw a woman who looked like she had herpes on her face…while i was eating my cocoa puffs! OMG! TAKE IT DOWN!
PS: they were the cheap albertsons cocoa puffs.
Is it me or did it make my xmb resolution like twice as small. Everything is so big!
@22. Did you change to a custom font? If you did, then it could be the font size is way too big. If not, I have no idea how you pulled that one off.
21—- thats hot. wish i saw that girl. herpes finder!! a new service!!
@ #24. Eww.
@ #20. Just hold R while doing a coldboot and use the recovery option (if you have the 1.5 eboot in your recovery folder).
@12,
Hey Guardian, does anyone know that you Americans spell behaviour, colour, centre, litre & metre wrong?
yo you guys ROCK… i love 2.71seB AND all the hard work all ya all put in… thanx again
@7 I copied and pasted into lfish. This is what (apparently) it means.:
I rather than I eating the lith, eat the cheese of my head which likes the taste where for many juices I am new
Any1 understand?!
