gpSP: Gameboy Advance Emulator v0.8 KAI 2.4 Released

greg | November 12, 2006

Update: Yet another gpSP update from takka! Rolling down the bug-fixing path, this one corrects some video mode issues, leaving us at gpSP v0.8 KAI 2.4. Download link below has been updated.

Update: takka has updated to gpSP 0.8 KAI v2.3 with a fix for the Sound I/O bug. The download link below has been updated to reflect this version.

takka has released an unofficial version of gameplaySP, also known as gpSP — the Nintendo Gameboy Advance emulator. Due to a messy translation of the release log I won’t bother posting it; rest assure it’s primarily bug fixes to improve stability and performance. If you’re interested in knowing more about gpSP, check out the original v0.8 release article from Exophase.

Download: gpSP v0.8 KAI 2.4 (includes 1.0/1.50 EBOOTs, and source code)

this one isn’t “new” but just very cool. supposedly, the update is just faster loading and saving. just minor but, wat the hey, it’s cool.

Not a huge change, but it’s always good to see improvements. Keep up the good work.

Somebody confirm if Mario Tennis works yet. That’s pretty much my only gripe with the real emulator.

@Gangstamalu
Don’t you realise when you first load the roam, there are some error string, then you see the game intro. Maybe some improvements from what i see. But minimal though. I experienced sound bugs and sometimes game fails. That’s all. I have yet to find bugs with this release.

I tried Zelda -Minish Cap with the normal gpSP v.08 and its working like on a gba. But at the middle of the game there is a boss in the ice-dungeon were the emu crashes after you hit him the second time and starts to burn. I hope this also is fixed or will be fixed soon.

@18, There are various tutorials on this website on how to downgrade, but the safest way is to upgrade to 2.71 and use dark_alex’s generic downgrader. If you need me to walk you through it, email me skoomaeater@gmail.com or aim skoomaeater

No offense, but if you can’t find the BIOS on this website and have to ask for it, you might have bigger things to worry about. People have already directed you to links and have told you it’s on the forums.
