I’m sure you’ve all read about Sony’s Chotto Shotto digital camera accessory for the PSP. And I’m sure you’re aware FW 2.82 is required to actually operate the camera; the FW update is included on the camera’s software UMD. But we all know that’s hogwash — below are some PRX modules for 2.71 SE that’ll get your camera working without 2.82!

This is a simple flashing application that allows you to flash the usbcam.prx & usbmic.prx over to your custom 2.71 SE fw. It allows SE users to use the USB camera aka ChottoShot on the SE custom firmware without upgrading to 2.82.

Note: the software UMD is reported to work fine under DevHook.

You can but usbcam.prx & usbmic.prx in the dh/271/Flash0/kd folder(replace the old files) and devhook still works i don’t know if it will make the cam work but it my

good job, but like is thee anyway to like put the prx modules in the devhook 2.71 or like flash it to plain ol’ 1.5, cuz i would rather keep my 1.5 b/c ive done so much to it and i dont feel like doing it all over after i switch to 2.71 se, yea but i guess if it is impossible then ill just have to get this damn 2.71 se that all these young kids keep talkin about

I took a long shit for about 15mins. Thats a record! But I’m scared this might be because i have aids. I was wondering if the psp hacks could work on living bodies. I want my body downgraded to its last formal self. Can someone please give me pointers? Thanks.

Has anyone got the camera? I’ve search local online shops and have not found one so far. Seen the Vid. the Camera looked pretty cool.
Having the webcam requires us to buy somthing… Isn’t that against the point of the homebrew scene?

@13: Dude, the point of the homebrew scene isn’t for you to not buy any shit and just play ISOs. It’s for all possibilities. Who knows, a homebrew IM that utilizes the webcam and mic might just come out soon. And we can start using our PSP for Video IM.
Unless it’s cheap, then i won’t be buying it, this might be something fun, but a pretty decent camera (which is way and way better then this) doesn’t cost that much.
Knowing Sony they’re probably asking like 80 euro for it.
@14: Yeah, I found that. After searching more into the PSP cam, In Japan it’s called Chotto shot.
As for the specs of the cam. I sorta agree with @15. It’s not that good of a cam. 1.3mega pixels. I have a cheaper cam then this and it’s a 2.1 mp. More mega pixels the sharper the image. Inless this is sold cheaper then $55 US then this little unit will be just another thing that is on stand by.
But, On the other hand. Using that for a camera would be cool. Being able to see a huge pic of the pic you’re about to do would be better then looking into a ½ inch to an Inch viewer.

I downloaded the prx files and slapped then into the PSP’s dh/271/flash0/kd Replacing the ones there. Restarted the PSP into full devhook 0.45(2.71) and have no problems running the 0.45(2.71) or the games off the Extreme Links usb or the Memory card. I do not have the Software nore the Cam to test to see if it’ll work after doing so.

I’ve gotten the Chotto Shot iso and put it on the 0.45(2.71) DevHook and it ran fine. Although I couldn’t understand the language, the software ran fine under 2.71. I could tell that it was saying that I was missing the cam.
If this helps any one. It’s pretty much confirmed to work here under 0.45(2.71)
Buy the cam. Use the iso or the UMD.
