i have gta vc working with devhook. with no problem :-)
1.6 gig is a BIG game, but i haven’t got a 4 gig mem disk for nothing :-)

i can confirm gta vcs works on devhook 44 and 46 just fine dont cso tho as this makes the game all jerky

i am playing the iso from the xmb in 2.71 se-b wiht no problems .. ?If you bought it dump the umd and rebuild the iso and play

the umd or off memory stick because i want the umd

yeah the iso works for 27.1 under devhook (well no Sh@t)
and as for it being so big
just take out the update with UMDgen, and then compress it into a cso
not that bloody hard

I finished this all in the morning, took like 10-15 mins tops

new to this but I’m running devhook .46GuiCustomFirmware that was from this site to allow usb play of iso’s and my psp is at firmware1.5 and I have no problems running this game from iso.
so ya it does work on emulated 2.71.
I just took the umd rip and compressed to about 800mbs and it runs fine but I like the idea about removing the update.
Is there a how to for this?

And I think he has a modded PSP with video out to his television i have a video of it being installed on a psp. It gives you tv outs and a controller port for a ps2 controller right on the back. It looks cool but you have to replace a lot of wires in your PSP when you do it. Major Mod.

i have the euro iso removed boot file plus update and cso at869 mb it works perfect if you over clock in xmb with dev hook .46

hey guys for the guy who asked for the how to its very simple d/l winrar and umd gen.i have a legit copy i ripped the umd with fast loader to my 4gig and then using winrar i extracted the iso look in one of the folders in psp game for the update folder simple as deleting it and using umd gen to rebuild iso takes no time at all very simple hope it helps

I haven’t tried this yet (I’ll be buying VCS tomorrow) but if you have v2.71 se-b, you could just download SXT Chager which supports spoofing the psp into thinking it’s a different version (it goes up to v7.00). Using that VCS should boot fine…

Never mind, the SXT Changer isn’t supported for 2.71 se-b….

ok whats the deal with the 4gb memory sticks anyway? I just saw this thing listed on someone’s store on Ebay where they said you need to upgrade to 2.81 to use a 4gb memory card. I also saw somewhere on THIS site where it was listed that one benefit (the only real benefit apparently) of the 2.81 upgrade was 4gb memory card functionality. So previously I was under the impression that a 4gb card would work, regardless of firmware. On Ebay, the person also said that if you dont have the upgrade it will “crunch” your data. I recently had purchased a 4gb card on Ebay and I had to return it because I thought it was one of the fakes they are supposedly having sold on there. It worked fine up to 2gb, but anything I put on there afterwards became a totally corrupted file. So, is that the way it works if you are using a 4gb card on a 1.5/2.71 PSP? Please let me know…ANYONE??

Ok im confused. I have the GTA VCS iso running perfect from the game menu in 2.71 SE B’. Whats different about the actual UMD that doesnt allow it to launch in 2.71 SE-B’ as all other UMD’s seems to launch for me no problem.

What firmware does GTA VCS actually require to run officially??

I can confirm I have it working on a 1.5 with the most recent devhook… no problem. Not tried compression yet.

Yeah, to make GTA working with DevHook 0.46 just extract your iso with UMDGEn, delete the UPDATE directory, rebuild your iso as CSO and playyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Ive got the CSO running on devhook .46 with no problems. just a little lag, but it fits on my 512 stick and im stoked about it. Neat trick.

just run the iso or cso. there is no loading time execpt for like a second at the beggining. also if u use dev hook u can put the cpu right up so even the cso runs smoothly. also if u are on 2.71 se-b then u can still use dev hook so u can still change the cpu. just my opinion

When loading any game that requires 2.80+ using DevHook you MUST ENABLE the 2.xx -> 2.00 option under devhoo, other it will say you need to update, so all you people asking how you get GTA: VCS ISO to run under devhook or UMD there is your answer, if you want to play the UMD just select UMD DISC in devhook but DONT FORGET TO ENABLE the 2.xx -> 2.00 option first…

for anyone that has a 2.8xx game i think that for now all you have to do is rip the game from umd and then delete the update folder i can confirm this with gta vcs and snoopy vs the red baron both work great !!!!!!!!!!!

The umd switch works too.
Socom works, the demo disc works
VCS doesnt use 2.81 PRXS it only does the firmware check, putting a 2.71 disc or below bypasses the firmware check. Putting in the VCS umd at the right time gives the disc the “RUN eboot” command, and dosent look back.
Now shut the fuck up and play the game!

I read that the new Custom Firwares dont support DAX loading . . . so would it be possible to load DAX files by running Devhook with the DAX support mod while running a custom firmware?

I commpersed the iso with dax creator and downloaded the devhook plugin that supports emulating .dax files and i put in any umd and just emulated 2.71 firmware and it started instantly……with no disc swamping……

or deleting updates…….

Thats cool. But i downloaded it converted it to a cso and played it from my memorystick.. Right from the game’s menu with no devhook or nothing.. works better, no UMDs nearly 0 loading and there you are!

dude all u need to do is download the cheatthingy 2.0 then use the installer then start it up normally, then theres an option to do a video, i hanvt tried it yet but will post back if it works when i have.
