Beware: “Ljk-Sang” Phishing Scam

greg | October 30, 2006

A warning for all you Lik-Sang customers… As you’re aware Lik-Sang closed up shop. Obviously someone saw this as an opportunity and now there’s some phishing scam running ramped through the Internet. I received a sample one from crimson, it looks like this:

Your Login/Email is: xxxxx
Your password is: ********

As of today, Lik-Sang.com will not be in the position to accept any new orders and will cancel and refund all existing orders that have already been placed. Furthermore, Lik-Sang is working closely with banks and PayPal to refund any store credits held by the company, and the customer support department is taking care of any open transactions such as pending RMAs or repairs and shipping related matters. The staff of Lik-Sang will make sure that nobody will get hurt in the crossfire of this ordeal. To read the full article please visit: http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3901

Our records indicates you can retrieve an additional $ 9,99 USD refund in your PayPal account. In order to successfully retrieve the refund please confirm your existing PayPal account on this page. Please notice that the confirmation of your PayPal account is needed to have this refund send into your PayPal account.

If your PayPal account is no longer active on this (xxxxxxxxxx) address you will have to create a free PayPal account at: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_registration-run to retrieve this refund. Once your account is created and activated please confirm your account information at the above page.

We feel very sorry for any inconvenience and trying to make all refunds to take place as soon as possible.

Team Lik-Sang

“this page” is actually a link to “http://www.ljk-sang.com/refund/?code=< some code >” — notice “ljk-sang.”

Good lookin’ out.

there’s actually more to the URL which I omitted from the post. It brings you to a paypal landing page asking for your paypal credentials.

disgusting.

some people are just scum, fact is someone will fall for this, thank god its only 10 dollars.

A person in my area (Vancouver) lost 100,000 dollars to a scam. He was on the News but was so embarrased he used the name “bob”. I felt sorry for him and at the same time laughed that he fell for something like that. (crappy scam – Clients” pay you, you bank, wire to us, Client check is a fake, your screwed)

yeah, their’s another scam going on to, I got an email from some company called, “lick-Sam”, but i’ts hard to call it a scam though…i mean the guy had never even heard of psp..or the 2X charger i purchased..he was doing underwear research for his company..so he made me try on all these different types of underwear while dancing..to check the durability of the material..and afterward..THE IDIOT PAID ME!..i guess I scammed him.
