@#168: Indeed, so far it seems that the only advantage 2.71 SE-A offers over Devhook 0.46 is that you don't need to boot in 2 different modes to run things.

Obviously I appreciate the effort Dark_AleX put into this, and it is rather amazing. However for people who are just interested in running homebreweds and ISO's in a safe manner (without flashing our PSP's) and don't mind rebooting (which only takes like ~5 seconds anyhow), then Devhook is our cup of tea.

Also in regards to newer games, when the emulator and the flash for 2.81 come up, it may be more feasible to run a 2.81 emulator on Devhook, rather than having to flash it into 2.81 which may be another cryptic lengthty and risky process.

last nyt I updated my psp to 2.71 but i did not play my smackdown vs. raw 2006 umd, I got this error 8002012d, but my street fighter alpha 3 umd disc works fine, I downgrade my psp to 1.5 again, then install 2.71 SE-A, But still didnt play SVR2006. I use devhook to try to load it using 2.71 firmware, it did not worked.., I have solved this problem by installing a 2.50 firmware in my devhook, using devhook firmware installer and my umd svr2006, so when i want to play my svr2006 i just need to set the firmware of devhook to 2.50! weird huh? is der others games that 2.71 cant play? g

@#164: I guess it's just so people who have UMDs can still run UMDs (except for the new ones with version 2.8 or 2.81) directly without the hassle of the prompt to upgrade to version 2.xx when the UMD is put in? I'm just taking a stab... lol I'm still trying to figure out if this 2.71SE-A will work on a version 2.6 PSP as a direct flash or if I had to downgrade to 1.5 first...

[FW 1.5 with Devhook 0.46 versus FW 1.5 flashed to 2.71 SE-A]

Besides the fact that you don't have to boot in 1.5 or 2.71 modes to run homebrews, emulators, and isos, what advantage(s), if any, does this 2.71 SE-A has?

I had FW 2.6, I downgraded to 1.5, installed Devhook 0.46 and everything is just perfect. I run homebrews and emulators directly in 1.5 mode, and use the 2.71 emulator that Devhook includes to run all isos. So far I haven't had a single problem.

So pretty much my question is, are you willing to risk bricking your PSP and performing a rather obscure flash of it, when you can just install Devhook and not risk anything, just so you don't have to boot in 2 different FW modes? Or is it that 2.71 SE-A offers any advantage, like it is faster or something?

I know this msg is going to piss a lot of people off, but I've got firmware 2.6 on my PSP, can I still apply the 2.71SE-A or do I have to do something else before applying it. Sorry, I'm just a noob (just got my psp) and I don't wanna brick it either lol
