no one will believe me but I had that touch screen idea a long ass time ago. I’m just glad someone with greater engineering skills thought of it as well and is putting it in motion. Only when I can make calls, surf the web, IM, play games, and e-mail with my psp without using a keypad or some weird O + X = some letter crazy keyboard will I be happy!

Its lame peopel are actually happy after ditching the touch screen “gimmick”. Even more lame that despite the fact that people were saying the PSP was so superior, now it eventualy needs a touch screen to revalize the DS which is btw owning the PSP. Sony fanboys are so stupid. #17, dont waste your money, i know waiting is hard, but the 2.80 dg will be here soon enough. and seriously, i garuantee that when you do buy it, the dg will come out, its simple murphy’s law. just be patient. again, i know waiting is hard, but your gonna kick yourself if you do get one. and besides, you have no way of knowing what firmware is factory loaded until you turn it on and look. you may very well end up wasting your money on a factory 2.81!!!

So this is a third party gimmick eh? It won’t last long or even “last” at all. Unless sony makes their very own, official psp touch screen ad-on , then game devs might try and make real good use of it. Whats sad is that most game devs aren’t even making much use of the wifi, all games should have online play of some sort. Well anyway, I hope to see some interesting homebrew for this and a low price!!! Imagine emulating DS…that would totally own! 0_0

psp sucks ds owns…i dont actaully have one but atleast it has some decent games psp has maybe 2-3 mediocre games and the rest are insanely horrible

1. PSP will never be able to emulate a DS successfully, if at all.
2. The only reason I still use my PSP is for emulation…of Nintendo games. Oh, and free Monster Hunter.
3. Even with the PSX emu coming soon, I’m not shelling out cash just to play them. F-that, I’ll wait until someone hacks/makes their own, for free.
4. I like chicken, and malt liquor.
5. Sony’s foray into the handheld market has so far, phailed. Where’s their killer app?

This is the PERFECT “HACK” at last I can put my psp on the car and have an easy and perfect use of it. Just an GPS support with the touchscreen and we are done.

The only good game that I see out for DS is Jump Superstars. I’m not sure if it’s worth the space on my memory stick…

I’m a proud owner of 3 (well, one. but I’ve gone through 3) DS’s, and 2 (one now) PSPs. I personally like both systems. PSP, for the price, is not worth it… I have an iPod for my music, and I don’t really want to watch movies on a PSP.

But, it is a slick machine. I absolutely love Lumines. That, and the many emulators available make it an awesome system. It’s also relatively (compared to the DS) easier to program for.

I think my DS Lite is better than my PSP. But then again, they’re their own systems. If Sony would stop being dicks, and just let us use our emulators (NES, Genesis, NeoGeo, etc.) and it were the same price as the DS, I’d totally justify getting one.

The only reason I have one now, is because my sister’s dad (note: not my dad) bought it for her birthday.

The fight between DS and PSP, is idiotic. As much as Nintendo fans shout fanboy to the Sony fans, anyone who argues in favour of their own without legitimate cause or giving reasons, is just a fanboy.

If you want to say Nintendo games are for little kids, for people like poster # 50, I suggest you seriously reconsider how mature you really are.

There are usually three stages to maturity:

There’s the infantile/child stage, where you will do anything, and can easily ignore adult worries or personal image problems.

Then, comes to the preteen/denial stage, where you relinquish any and all feelings for things ‘kiddie’ in nature (Pokemon, Nickelodeon, stickers).

Then, comes maturity. This is the one where you realize what it is you indeed enjoy, can allow others to enjoy it without being a bigot, and can also SOMETIMES enjoy these things, too. I’m 15, and I understand that I’m not alive, at this age, to watch Barney, eat lollipops, and wipe my ass with my hand (though I do, on occassion). But I, on top of the many things I do (I’m a programmer/3D artist for my own game development studio startup here in Miami, FL) can still take time, and enjoy a little childish fun: a game of Hide n’ Seek with my younger sister; pretending I’m Darth Vader and she’s Luke Skywalker and we have lightsaber battles with brooms; and a good game of Pokemon Ruby or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles In Time.

It’s all about understanding, that liking something aimed at a seperate age group, doesn’t mean you have to act like that age group.

I have both a DS and a PSP, and I play both equally. They’re both great in their own ways, but each has their flaws. So what I’m saying is that I’m a Sony AND Nintendo fanboy. (PS3 and Wii for me!)

It’s the X-Box that sucks. (Just joking. It had JSRF and other good games, which rocked.)
