Update: Maybe not so remarkable afterall… I’ve received numerous emails indicating Yoshihiro has actually ripped most, if not the majority, of code and released it as his own. In actual fact this is PacManFan’s PSPSone emulator released a few months ago. We’ll continue to keep it hosted for now; nice work PacManFan. ;)
Wow… Another remarkable accomplishment today… Yoshihiro has released the first beta of PSX-P.
PSX-P emulates the Sony Playstation (PSOne) which marked its spot on the scene back in 1994-95.
PSX-P has been confirmed to work on firmware 1.0 - 1.50, and 2.00 - 2.60 via eLoader. Of course this remains in the early stages of development so you shouldn’t expect complete stability just yet. In fact it’s mentioned that execution is slow due to lack of an optimized dynarec (dynamic compiler). Nevertheless — give it a try and provide your feedback below!
ROMs are distributed in ISO or BIN format — we will not provide links to these; however, we will gladly provide you with the URL to the required SCPH1001.BIN file, the PS1 BIOS.
Place the BIOS file in: ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__psxp/bios
Place the ROMs in: ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__psxp/rom

well, i wouldnt suggest getting this if u dont have a 2 or 4gb mem stick, cuz ISOs are 400mb +

Its gotta start somewhere, this may be a shaky release but it will develop either by these fellows or by others who improve on it.

how the fuck do L2 and R2 work? i havent tried this yet but thinking about it nah! ps1 was good in the day but graphics now suck lol id prefer the n64 emulator to run full speed and goldeneye = be fucking good on psp

damn,now am worring,cool emulators,cool games only for 1.0-2.71,damn waiting for a 2.8 downgrader or eloader
some good work and although it may not be stable, its one hella of a proof of concept. I cud see a few work arounds the L2 and R2 buttons, my idea wud be use the D pad left and right buttons. Since the PS1 didnt originally have 2 analog sticks, there wudnt be a problem with movement as the analog stick on the PSP wud be used as the PS1 D pad or use the analog stick for L2 or R2, whichever prefered. as for disk swapping, i think there may have to be USB/WIFI implementation to support all the large ISO files, or just run it through iRshell! anyways damn fine work.

It’s a good start but not really playable right now. The only ISOS i have on my drive that work (well load up) are street fighter ex2 and Raiden (shooting game). Castlevania doesn’t work right now. This emulator shows a lot of promise. I just hope we can start a thread of working games when the emulator has other releases.
Is there a list of working games somewhere?? I just need to know if ridge racer works…

You say it has to start somewhere. No shit, but don’t “start” a homebrew app that hardly works at all, and release. It can start wherever the Hell it wants, but the Finished product is a completely different story. I don’t understand people who use that N64 emulator. It’s bullshit, and I’m sick of seeing worthless apps that come out just so the coders can say, “Yeah I made this.” Sweet, what exactly is it that you made? An emulator that runs 8 FPS? Hardly an emulator. Just because it can load most/some/hardly any games, doesn’t make it worth time. And as for you saying, “If you want one so bad, make it yourself.” No, dumbass, haha. Just because I can’t make an emulator doesn’t mean I do not have the right to say it sucks. That’s like going to the movies but you’re not allowed to state your opinion, we’re the audiance, we decide the popularity of something, food and bad. I say WAIT until you have something A LOT better than this. THEN release it so I don’t have to put up with 18 updates a week.

THIS IS GREAT. WON`T NEED TO UPDATE TO 3.0 TO GET PS1 EMU AND WON`T HAVE TO PAY FOR GAME IMAGES IF YOU HAVE ORIGIONAL PS1 GAMES.
Just rip them with ISOBUSTER to get the bin files.
Nice work and much respect. ps you don`t need the ps1 bios for this to work either. It works as is. So don`t bother with the stupid bios. PASSWORD for the zip file is http://www.pspgen.com yust copy and paste the website address into winzip. place bin files in folder f:\psp\game\__SCE__PSXP\roms\

Now guys, this is a very good thing. Can you imagine playing PSX games on your PSP? It’s probably the best thing to happen to homebrew since GBA become fully playable.
Think about it, if Sony is releasing PSOne games for your PSP via emulation, then it is possible to have a great emulator homebrew, IMHO.

anyway on a PSP you just drag the psp folder to the root folder in your psp. then drag your PS1 images into the folder named “ROMS”
and again, Everyone that flames saying it “dosent work” needs to get a life, or preferably end theirs. Lets give these coders some credit and do the bug testing.
