If you're only interested in playing backup ISO's, you DO NOT need to run FW 1.5. I don't know why there are all these instructions telling people to load FW 1.5 just to load devhook 0.46 to load FW 2.71. All you need to do is run devhook 2.71 and load FW 2.71. You can download FW 2.71 from the following link:

http://rapidshare.de/files/27505776/UI_v1.1.1.exe.html

I think that file is clean, but you might want to check it for viruses, etc.

Here are some instructions taken from an earlier post, modified and simplified for people who just want to load backup ISO's:

This is how I got HENB, DevHook 2.71, 2.71 FW emulated and ISOs working on my TA-082 2.71FW PSP.

1.)Format your memory stick (back up any game saves/movies/pictures you want to keep.

2.)Get the HENB rar from this site and download it, save it to your Hard drive.

3.)Connect your PSP to your PC via USB and open up the PSP directory.

4.)Open up the HENB rar. Drag the folder SRC into the Memory stick ROOT folder. Open up MS_ROOT select all the files and drag them to the Memory stick ROOT folder, replace all the files it asks you to.

5.)Download the DevHook rar and open it up. Drag the SRC folder into the Memory Stick ROOT, click yes when it asks you about replacing the folder. Wait for all files to transfer.

6.)Get the 2.71FW Dump from this site, save it to your Hard Drive.

7.)Copy the 2.71 FW files to the dh/271 folder on the PSP’s memory stick.

8.)Disconnect the PSP from your PC. Go over to the Photo menu, open up the HEN folder and your screen will freeze for a second then go blue, your PSP will restart, HEN is now loaded.

9.)Now to load ISOs. Connect your PSP to your PC once again and create a folder in the Memory Stick Root called “ISO”. Drag and drop the ISO(s) you wish. Disconnect the PSP and navigate to the Game Menu.

10.)Go to the GAME menu and open the Memory Stick and navigate to DEVHOOK.4X launcher for 2.71. Select it and DEVHOOK will load.

11.) Now in Devhook, move to FIRMWARE and press the O button, select 2.71 and press O again.

12.)Go to UMD SELECT, and select the ISO you want to load, then select “image + anyumd”.

13.)Select START in DEVHOOK and you will be brought back to the GAME menu, go up to the UMD and you will see the Game you selected in DEVHOOK there.

Good luck, hope this helps!

I decided not to upgrade to HEN C since my TA-082 works fine with HEN B. Does anyone tried playing GTAVCS? Any success? I dl'd the ISO but I can't play it. It just flashes back to 2.71 menu (with PSP-HACKS wallpaper). HELP!

hi,
following blackrain's details
load hen *blue screen flashes* it may freez on blue screen, just hard reset
then place any umd into the umd drive *any will work*
go to devhook 2.71
*program launches*
go to firmware, select fw 1.5
go to umd, select your ISO, not the umd, and select “image + anyumd”
then go and start
your psp will restart
shows “game couldn not start”, press 0

But when 'go and start' the psp just turns itself off, regardless whether umd in or not.

What am i missing???!

Thanks

Seriously all this new tools has been great
but i think hackers should now focus on how to by pass Ta-082 and non Ta-082 2.7fw and make 2.7 accept homebrew and run iso and do everything 1.5 does rather always trying to bring up some new tools to downgrade to 1.5 i *maybe* not a psp hacker but o0rk, dark alex, fanjita and etc this is the challenge

@316, I also have a 2.6 ta-082, I used to use the TIFF loaders and loved them. After upgrading to 2.71, not 2.7 I could still do everything that I was able to before, plus run some 1.5 homebrew while in 1.5 mode, plus more!!!

Just read my post @315 and have fun.
