DevHook Screen/Video Capture Module

Posted by greg

ADePSP has returned with a brand new creation for DevHook users — a video screen/capture module! Similar to Edison Carter’s Cheat Device for GTA: Liberty City Stories, you’re now given the opportunity to take individual screenshots or a series of screenshots resulting with an animated GIF saved to your memory stick. This works while in DevHook emulation mode allowing screens & clips to be captured from the XMB interface or during game play of any title.

DevHook Screen/Video Capture Module example

Example #2

You can record video in normal mode (half the screen size) or advanced mode (full screen size) and all files will be saved to the PSP/PHOTO folder. It is recommended you use normal mode as advanced mode slows the game down a lot and makes it difficult to play.

The animated GIF files are uncompressed so make sure you have plenty of memory stick space in order to store them (don’t worry, if you run out of space the module will simply stop working). You can compress the GIF files massivly without loosing any quality using the GIFAnimator.exe program provided. It is a very good idea to do this if you intend to post your clips on forums.

Everything else you’ll need to know — requirements, installation, current known issues, etc… — can be found right here in our PSP Hacks forums.

Fantastic work ADePSP!

hmmmm, this looks intresting. but i dont think it has any really practical use.

unless the gifs can be processed into pmf’s so you can use it to help capture custom gameboots

other than that its neat but mostly useless

the only other thing i could think of is if you want to show people glitchs and shitt like that

#7 cababer, Check YouTube out for what people did when this only ran on GTA LCS… Animated Gif files are easy to mess with, why not turn them into avi or wmv files and add sound…?

#25, Look at the Readme.txt and do the reverse of the manual installation… or just remove and reinstall DevHook…
