For one, these software are free and we should be thankful to those generous developers who spent a lot of time and effort to provide us with these software/cracks/updates. yes it works with ta-082

and hardware reset just means turning off your psp and turning it back on. so if you want the xmb loader to still work you will have to sleep your psp instead.

first of all, good work, second, for all those people with 2.81 fm its now time to test your patience, I got the same problem when I updated my psp (recent bought and did not know anything about the homebrew and cool stuff) to 2.71; the month, 5 days and 7:31 hours of waiting for a downdater were the most long of all xD.

so… as @33 said before, we should be thankfull or start programing our own downdater (good luck, if you get it, post it xD)

Hi, i m new here. I have installed the software according to instructions. My psp, FW 2.71 upgrade from 2.60/ TA-082, just froze the first time, blue screen 2nd time and i cant play the samples.

Am i missing something or is TA-082 that strong?Appreciate any help needed.

Also, can we use this to load DevHook?

For TA-082 owners. I wouldn’t touch a damn thing, until something concrete is released. Just stick with what firmware you have right now.

i have a 2.80 and i dont mind the wait, there doing the best they can so just hold on

I have a TA-082 and was twiddling my thumbs for some time. Then I saw this and waited like a coward, hoping some other TA-082 owner would test it first. Then Seink came forward with his own problems and put me to shame. If I want to be a part of this homebrew world, I realized I had to grow a pair and try it myself. Well, I ran the HEN about 5 times, getting freezes, black screens, and yes, a blue screen, but no green! Then, like magic, it happened. I got a green screen and was in. I was able to play the polyphonic program and let me tell you, nothing could have sounded sweeter.

Then I thought I would go for the big guns and run the Trumd from Train2335 (found at http://www.deviantpsp.com) but unfortunately that isn’t quite working yet (at least for me, please don’t let that stop you from trying it though).

So to sum up, I have a TA-082 2.71 and was able to get Dark_Alex’s HEN working. I also tested the hard reboot and had to go through another 3/4 cycles to get it to run again, but then I was back in. Seink, my advice to you is to keep running the HEN until you see the green screen. It will happen, just keep at it.

My sincere and deepest thanks go out to Dark_Alex and all those who brought us to this day.

answer : as far as i know you need a program like devhook to change the cpu clock speed, programs like that require “kernel access” which is currently only available in 1.5 but is being developed for the higher firmwares as we speak

answer : no not at this time. currently most homebrew is geared toward the 1.5 and upgradeing now would limit what you can do as far as homebrew is concerned

will this work in devhook with 2.71 emulated on a 1.5?
answer : probaly yes, im at work and cant test this yet but most things of this nature can be tested in devhook emulating 2.71

what is a hard reset?
answer : a hard reset is when you hold teh power switch up until the green light stops flashing, meaning when you turn your psp on again it starts up fresh.

what is the difference between hard reset and sleep?
answer : sleep mode is basiclly like pause-ing it but the battery also shuts off. to enter sleep mode tap the power switch up for just a split second

will this work on 2.70 ?
Answer : possibly because they have very similiar security checks, but the post did say 2.71 and dark alex is always very detailed in his posts. so i must say no at this time but if u gott the bullets give it a try

why not make avirus that deletes all firmwares and forces the psp to think it is 1.0 -9.99?
answer : firmwares are more than just a number that says what version you have, every thing your psp does is controled by firmware, to delete it all would create a bricked psp, as for tricking firmware a program called x-flash already does that, and its nothing speacial, just tricking it doesnt give you the function of the actual firmware

no one cares about 2.71, do 2.8 cause it has more features
TRUTH: 2.8 only has one different feature and that feature is high capacity memory stick support(greater than 4gb) and since you cant even buy a memory stick that is bigger than 4gb what is the actual point to it. also the new version of devhook will provide you with these added features once it is released

i think if you did then you would relize that it is physically impossible right now to hack 2.8+ with anything worth-while because it dosent have enough “kenal mode” access

also if you understood the hacking process you would know that any advancements made on 2.71 will allow people to eventually make advancements with 2.8+
