X-Flash V15f Released
greg | September 15, 2006
For all those 1.50 owners wanting to be cool; Art has released a new version of his popular firmware manipulation tool — X-Flash V15f! Once installed you’ll be able to customize various aspects of your firmware: menu labels, fonts, custom game boot video/sound, etc… And much more!
X-Flash is a firmware modification program written primarily for my own use. I wanted a way to quickly apply newly discovered firmware hacks, and to automate the process of customising any new 1.50 PSP units that I might purchase in the future. Not all of the firmware modifications performed by this program are my own, but I use all of these modifications permanently on my own PSP units. The X-Flash program has followed a logical progression, and now features some firmware tools that I did not consider when I started the program.
V15f (15/09/06):
- Added a prompt to auto install Dark_AleX custom firmware files if there is no custom firmware installed on the subject PSP unit for the first use of X-Flash.

GOTT DAMIT DIESES IST DAS 5. PSP I BRICKED WEGEN DIESES DER PROGRAMME DER AUFSTELLUNGSORT-SHITTY
Lol mad German people. cheers for this, i like having the windows login sound on my psp!
well my psp is bricked… i think… it just sits at a black screen…
I love this. However, this being like the 23894398294829482 millionth thing I have tried in the hopes of ridding my PSP of an annoying error I started getting after using the new IR Shell + Devhook (it was one of the two, or both, probably both…yeah I’m thinking both)…I still havent been able to rid my PSP of this awful curse. Though I do feel that the person who made this program is totally uber and could probably come up with some kind of patch to heal PSP’s of this awful sickness.
It involves the HOME exit menu (”Are You Sure You Want To Quit? Yes or No”) freezing with none of the buttons working except HOME. This problem also extends to general decline in functionality of most of my homebrew apps, as some buttons seem to be inoperative while others are stuck in some kind of ‘rapid fire’ mode. PSP Kick no longer works because of this, same for PSP SEQ. IR SHELL 2.2 wont load past the intro screen. Devhook ISO/CSO mode no longer seems to function at all. Also, when I try to rename the PSP in the System settings, the keys are all messed up and stuck in a ‘rapid fire’ mode on the space bar or something. Some guy in the UK had this EXACT same problem as I found a matching thread today (no url handy, sorry!). So I am thinking this is not a unique problem.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!
And once again I want to thank the creator of this new app for doing a FANTASTIC job. It’s totally smooth and possibly the most interesting and well programmed thing I have ever seen for the PSP. Hopefully this will be the guy to break the curse I just ranted about and save countless hordes of frustrated PSP users, or at the very least myself and that person in the UK. lol
pretty fuckin awesome BUT, and that a big but…im not ganna risk it lol, FW1.50 with no TA-820 (somink like that) code in the umd are hard to find now days :D
