greg | September 15, 2006
ZX-81 delivers another blast from the past with a new version of his SamCoupé emulator for the PSP. PSPSIM emulates the SAM Coupé — an old 8-bit, Z-80 based home computer system released by Miles Gordon Technology in 1989.

v1.0.3 changes:
- Icons and background images designed by Mr Nick666
- Emulator menus reorganisation (new menu for settings)
- The percent of battery left is now displayed in the emulator window
- Add a watchdog to automatically return to the emulator menu when the battery is very low (< 5%)
- New feature to save and load a distinct setting file for each games
- Add keyboard change skin option (you can add your own virtual keyboard images in the graphics directory).
- Delete files option (in the file selector)
- Screenshots are now saved in PNG format instead of BMP

cool man trip
who cares about these crappy emulators for real. a while ago he was trying GBA and couldnt, now hes gone to this shit. seems desperate.
im really wondering…who actually plays this
yeah, good thing he’s not wasting his talent on something that nobody will every use or anything. ;)
would you guys f***ing stop whining because he quite GBA? for christ’s sake at least thank him he tried. If you want a f***ing working GBA emulator, try to do it. If not, you should stfu and wait.
What the hell is this bullshit?
@5
easy tiger
If I wanted a GBA emulator… Oh wait, I have a GBA itself! Silly me.
PSPSIM? Juh? Sam coupe? guh? Well, good news anyway!
I totally agree with 5, wtf is with all you stuck up know nothings bitching and complaining about things that you your self couldn’t do even if you wanted to. fuck, every hacker/programer/psp fan who takes they’re time to code and program a neat little app, just to spice up life, deserve all the respect that any one does, regardless of what it is they have acomplished, ffs, its all good. perhaps you all recall that age old proverb; if you cant say anything nice, dont say anything at all. well thats probably one of the best, so listen to it god dammit!!!!
is this a old computer for a psp?
ah the good ole Sam Coupe. Keep up the good work!
Man, if every homebrew developer actually LISTENED to these crybaby assholes whining about what emulators they should make, the only ones we’d have are GBA and N64 emu’s.
OMG, ZX-81 made something in his spare time and shared it to the internet community, for FREE, bitch bitch moan moan. Idiots.
He’s probably doing it for the experience with coding games/consoles/OS’s and is nice enough to share his work. This would definitely look good on a resume if he applied for work at a company. It would show he really knew his stuff since he has made so many emu’s.
Good job on the emu’s ZX-81. Keep it up.

You rock. You have lots of common sense, and rationality. It’s so refreshing. [/end sarcasm]
you basically said,
“if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. you stuck up know nothings.”
You DO understand that if you want to make a point like that and have it actually mean something then it requires that you follow your own advice right?
Dumb ass.
You think I care that he quit GBA? I own one.
Do you think I care if there’s an N64 emu? Not at all, there aren’t even any good games for it.
Some of you people would lose it if someone laughed at him for making a hello world program. You’ve lost perspective. Get a grip, and maybe some anger management therapy.
Growl! Give the guy some cred for making yet another pice of gigantic hardware into a small piece of convience. You don’t understand, ZX-81 doesn’t create these things so masses of people can go to their favorit rom site and play games that some people haven’t even heard of (seroiusly, who’s heared of Sam’s Coupe?) for personal enjoyment. It’s weather it’s possible to do these things, to find ways to do what was thought impossible (if you think about it, when the nes came out it was top of tech and now it’ condenced to a small portable convience on the psp whith a possiblitiy of thousands of games in a stick more than 9/10 of its size. Come on guys,, without these guys like ZX-81 the psp would have been and overpriced toy that you had to be rich to fully enjoy. (You’d have to buy $50 games, and good $200 memstick for vids and music, the list goes on and you’d need hundred to fully enjoy the psp) The psp can do so many things now that whould never have happend cause sony would never ever dream of doing it. The psp can streame media in realtime over wifi from a pc thanks to PimpStreamer, it can play a multitude of games from other systems thanks to the emulators, it can produce great ports and other homebrew that are fun and entertaining like PSP Revolution (useless without the mat, which will never come out for the psp, but it’s still fun). Without guys like ZX-81 the psp would just be sitting in your closet collecting dust like your previous game boy or game gears and what not. ZX-81, you rock, great work on all these emulators. Hopefuly with all these emulators out you’ll find answers to psp hidden powers.
haha this things way better then a shitty ass GBA emu u guys really ought to try this
miles gordon is related to jesus
Yeah, seriously..! You all need to stfu…Your making yourselfs look like idiots…Come on now..! I live in L.A. Were we respect people for their talet…Has anyone here hear of, “Keeping it real.” If anyone is going to say someing usefull…I think this is dope…We also need to get the ps1/psx emu, up and running…You know what!!! Why not even a Dream Cast emu…That would be some sick ish!!! Peace for now…Sober bastards…Were I live we got that Cali-Kush…What you guys need, it sounds like. Peace for now…One Love..!
stfu and get lives. ur all a bunch of assholes. the psp should actually just have systems like the snes, nes, sega genesis, soon to be n64, and lots more. these systems we have for the psp can’t b carried around bcuz then u won’t b able to play them unless u hook them up to a tv. we have the ability to play those games on a portable device. u want a gba emulator go fucking buy 1 or u should at least have 1.
great work ZX-81 keep up the good work
okay, granted that what i said in 10 was kinda hyporcitical, i get that, and thanks for pointing that out Snarg, but still, you have to see my point, theres no shame in anything released on this web site, and no one, and mean no one has the right to put people down about it.
Fair enough
