PSP ISO Shrink v2.32

greg | August 30, 2006

Update: Maverick has addressed many of the issues you discovered & reported with the earlier release of PSP ISO Shrink, thus the release of v2.32 - from the ChangeLog:

  • The Auto PSP detection so it no longer accesses the A:\ drive when checking for the psp
  • Decompression issue resolved
  • The “ISO not showing issue” in the drop down list
  • PSP detection now begins once you start the app

Download: PSP ISO Shrink v2.32

Yup, another one… From developer Maverick comes PSP ISO Shrink v2.3 (PSPISOS). Requiring the .NET framework PSP ISO Shrink provides an easy-to-use graphical interface supporting ISO to DAX/CSO compression, and vice versa; it also yields the functionality to directly transfer the resulting ISO image to your PSP’s memory stick without any hassles.

Quoted from the README:

PSPISOS was created to make it very simple to compress, transfer and manage your ISO compression. Not only does PSPISOS manage the compression to different formats, but it also manages the PSP memory card through intelligent PSP detection and game management.

Doesn’t work for me, it can’t see my ISO, and it keeps trying to look through the floppy drive, even though I double-checked my path to the ISO folder.

Yep I have the same issue. Can’t see my ISO, even though I specify the directory. Also, it doesn’t do batch jobs. Only one at a time. Yes bring on v2.4 with batch functions.

Looks really pretty though.

Simon, rocket34psp, get in touch i am sure i can sort your issues. Things to check, the compressor function (start), will only show images that are .iso in the input folder & sub directories.

The manual download will search through the specified output directory & sub directories for .cso and .dax currently. Email me a screen shot of the options page, File > Options and i will try and provide you some assistance.

@21 - DevHook plays almost everything, but the iso compression varies by game, and some games dont play in iso form so run it via USB (there is a dehook mod for that) and try the CSO before moving it to your pspif the CSO doesn’t work then you will have to load it from ISO format, BTW - pirate, some of us actually have the games but don’t like switching UMDs, i have made isos of games i own because im too lazy to change the disk (polly want a mother fucker)

Hmm, seems like a problem with the psp autodetector. Maybe since it’s checking every single one of my drives even after the psp is detected. Anybody know how to contact Mavrick to tell him to fix it for people who have problems, problem ask him to make a manual drive selection rather than have the suto selection.

Why are some of you saying “fuck sony” when you decided yourself that you would by their PSP. YOU made that choice. And if you were on top of your game, you would know that Sony is not making it’s profits from the PSP console, it’s from the games. Hence the expensive games and relatively fair priced PSP.

Right, version 2.31 is nearly upon us, addressing some of the more urgent issues, of accessing the A: drive and not seeing your ISO’s. This is currently in testing and will be released shortly. Meanwhile as fix to see your ISO images if you cant now. Select the input folder as the next folder up, so if you have C:\PSP\ISO\ as the input folder select C:\PSP\ a minor bug which is fixed now. Many thanks to everyone that has tried it.

Hey for both Pirates and Non-Pirates.

Never say fuck sony. Cuz if you really want to get technical. Sony let us have homebrew. I can think of some serious ways to just disable homebrew in total. So be thankful that sony didn’t lock down the whole system. They let all of the first buyers promote the PSP for them and for that more people went out and bought one. Now. For those who are saying we are too cheap to buy a UMD. For fucks sake. Fucking 50-60 $ for a fucking UMD. Thats ridiculous. Are you kidding me. I can get 2 blowjobs for 60$. =)

It’s really high priced. Same thing with DVD movies. It boggles me how DVD’s have been out for almost 8 yrs now and still cost 20+ $. Ridiculous. So whats the outcome. ISO’s. Simple easy and effective. If sony weren’t such idiots they would make ISO’s instead of UMD’s. Match the ISO’s to each MAC address of each PSP and sell them this way. Any newb could’ve thought of this concept. There is no way you can Clone Mac Addresses on a PSP either because you can’t fit 2 NIC Cards on there. =)

@Pirate - For you to say “Fuck you pirates” and shit like that, ya need to realize you are on a website called PSP-HACKS…..if you hate pirates and ISOs so much, why are you on a website that has the word “HACK” in the URL? People that don’t have anything to do other than insult other people for their personal decisions need to get another life or just blow their brains out. If you don’t like Pirates and ISOs, avoid sites that have words like “Hack” in the URL. If you still feel tempted to do something so immature; get a program like ZoneAlarm Pro that has a Web Filter that automatically blocks websites for “hacking” content on them. @COCKMEISTER…don’t give Sony any ideas of the Mac Address thingie…they may haven’t thought of that! LOL

I took maverick’s advice of setting the iso directory up one level, and then the ISO appeared properly. but when I tried to do a compresstion, it just immediately made the output CSO as a 0-byte file.

Anyone Having Decompress Issues?? I keep getting this message:

System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The system cannot find the path specified
at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithCreatProcess
at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start
at PSP_ISO_Shrinker.ISOCompress.CSODecompress

Then the windows crash screen comes up and the program closes. Just looking for any one else that might of had that problem.

Hey people, don’t worry, PSP ISO Shrink build 2.3.2 will be out soon. It is a quick bug-fix release which addresses the floppy issue, the decompression issue. Comestic changes will come soon. I’ve just tested out the pre-release build for Maverick_PSP backstage, and I’m using it with no problems. ^^
