Hello PRX!
RaiderX | August 29, 2006
HelloPRX was written by Sousanator to add a simple, yet personal, touch to your PSP. Much like your cell phone, which is probably customized with a welcome/hello message, this PRX module does the same. Used in conjunction with custom firmware, Harleyg’s for example (with the SCE intro off), you’ll be able to create your own welcome message everytime your PSP starts.
In the words of Sousanator:
This is a simple prx for Custom Firmware, to load up on boot up.
When you start up, it will display a custom message(of your choice), then go to your regular XMB. Currently its says Hello in ASCII text, but you can can it to anything else, (Including ASCII graphics)Add to the config.txt
# Extra PRX’s to load on boot.
loadmodule0 = “ms0:/psp/system/Hello.prx”
or loadmodule1 = “ms0:/psp/system/Hello.prx”
or loadmodule2 = “ms0:/psp/system/Hello.prx”
etc..Please report any problems, and/or Bugs
Bug Report – This does not work with LordSturm’s Casual custom firmware, This should be fixed in a later version
Bug Report 2 – AIOmod does not work with this
Now all we need is it to play a short mp3 or display an image! :)

err what is this usefull for?
probably just as usefull as your coment
Thats pretty cool I hope they can soon change the pic or even have it animate just like the gameboots.
I’m going to make one that says ‘you’re gay’ and be really funny and give it to people at college and they’ll turn it on and be like “oh no”
#2 + 4…rofl…
Man, I’m a little confused of how to put comments on it. Can anyone help?
this is cool but not something i would use. great work Sousanator. maybe if u made it with animation i would probably use it but then i’m still not sure if i would use it. if it had like a south park animation with sound i would totally use it.
@1+2 don’t be hating on his work. at least he can make some programs unlike u 2. if the both of u made a program better than this then i would believe u. but until then STFU and stop hating on people’s work.
What FW is it for?
like awesome
sweet
@7.. who says I was hating his work? i was responding to an ignorant comment and being sarcastic. what i really meant was I hate when people respond with idiotic comments when people make a homebrew program thats not a complicated as final fantasy 7. every little program helps whether its one line of code or 10 million. people need to get more appreciative instead of expecting the world when it comes to the homebrew scene. the worst is on the 2.0-2.8 hello world when people make comments like ” whats this shit program do etc” i wanna f*ckn smack em.
ok…….
wut FW?
Not that i could do any better but i think this is poop, sorry. The time taken to do this could maybe go into something more useful, but what do i know, im not hating im just putting my thoughts accross.
hopefully many others will be happy about this, but i sadley am not.
this is just for fun and stuff
wats the point of this?
personalisation. what’s the point in changing the wallpaper of your psp? or any of that other gay shell shit. i mean, at the end of the day. it’s still the same but just another colour. it’s to make your psp your own little baby, because some people enjoy doing that, just like some people enjoy playing racing car games, which i personally thing suck arse.
Well put #17
i think ppl need to appreciate me cause ihelp alot in this buisness so please b nice
@11 sorry about that i just realised u were being sarcastic
this program would be sweet if you were gay!
how do i make a new ASCII to put on this? i cant figure out how to put it in the message.txt to get it to look right hehe
I find the discussion above rather ridiculous – whenever you make “function” the basis of a post which rejects the program in question, you open yourself to the following criticism:
“NOT EVERYTHING HAS TO HAVE A MAJOR FUNCTION”.
What does my appendix do? Well, nothing really, but it’s nice to have it, just in case my body decides it might have a use for it. Better to stick to the mentality of options – you now have more options for what to do with your PSP. Now go and put the above quote as your PSP greeting – it will help you accept versatility.

@7 stfu, im allowed to leave a comment if i wish.
and i bet i could code better than you, java, java script html and php and vb so stfu.
i agree withsome guy up there who said its cool but not something id use…
WTF H4X! This can help with the modding!
One brick can become a city with some work
One cut can become a massive infection.. to keep it simple (cause otherwise you ungratefull bitches dont understand it) this small program maybe will lead to great devolepments.
and yh i know my english sucks, but thats because i’m from the netherlands, asswipes.
One brick can become a city… I think many failed downgraders would like that.
ok i am as u guys would call a “noob” but i am confused on 2 things, what section of my psp does this go on, and how do i change the text :)
@afroman
“…Add to the config.txt
# Extra PRX’s to load on boot.
loadmodule0 = “ms0:/psp/system/Hello.prx”
or loadmodule1 = “ms0:/psp/system/Hello.prx”
or loadmodule2 = “ms0:/psp/system/Hello.prx”
etc…”
wtf does that mean
I assume that you do not even have a custom firmware installed if you cannot interpret that above. Just leave this app alone. ;)
brick (bricks) those things people build their house with :P i never use brick as in (i bricked my psp) cause i’m not that stupid to let it brick ( reading the readme’s always helps, a lesson for all the noobs :P )
hopfully we all will soon with the hello world demo release
have custom fw that is
I wonder how many people actually use custom firmware. I’m in the category that doesn’t. But it’s cool that they exist.
the only think that dont work for me is the whole thing i put the loadmadual thingy in and every thing is in the right place but when i turn it on it just goes straight to the XMB ill check back later for any one who can help me to get this to work
Hah, when this comes more developed, I’m gonna make an Xbox 360 PRX and fool my friends.
offtopic but how can you have more than one iso on the same memory stick? i try but since they have the same name it just replaces it and i tried changing the name but then when i start up dev and look for it, its not there.
pls help i wenna carry all my fighting games!
oh and is multiplayer capable while using an iso?
@chong
Convert it to .ciso. Use PSP ISO Shrink v2.3, it’s very user friendly (with an awesome GUI), I hear. Set compression level to 9. Files of the same name and extension cannot coexist in the same directory.
this is dumb man, just make an eloader for version 2.00+
Errr, I think he’s just too dumb to rename the file. I think now that you told him to use the ISO shrink he’ll probably end up formatting his harddisk.
lol #41
I’m from the netherlands and I’m not a PSP Dictionary, so could you make a short film how to get it done.
No
drftoonarmy@yahoo.co.uk
how can i install it on my psp….

… Play a short MP3, or image.
what about a flash movie, or even an mp4 video clip.
im sure that shouldnt be hard, a flash player has been brought out (homebrew) for
what firmware is this for
Read people!
Like it says, this is for custom firmware!
I would use it, but I have no interest in custom firmware.
