I don’t get why he thinks people care about the main menu running at 40 fps. Who cares if it was running at 1,000 frames a second, what matters is the in-game FPS. Although I don’t really care for the emulator, the more obvious point is he is a gifted coder. Nice job, man.

Thanx for your hardwork on the emulator, but we have to be realistic and realise that it is extremley unlikely that it will ever run games at even half of full speed with sound, remember that daedalus was hardly the most popular and stable emulator on the PC,nevermid the PSP.

Mario Kart - time trials were running at 24-27 FPS. If this were GP mode the game would be playable. Great speed improvements though.

“Super Mario 64″ is really getting there - it’s flawless, for example, for the first few minutes as you move around outside (and inside) the castle. The battlefield afterwards is still slow, but playable.

Here’s to R9, R10,……and “Goldeneye”…

this is a real revalation. the abillity to play n64 games on a psp. all those years ago when i got my n64 i wouldnt have thought i would be playing the games on a handheld so soon. this is a mindblowingly hard skill and yet strmnNrmn is doing. what a guy. keep up the hard work.

What’s the point of this? Get a Nintendo DS and you can play the original Mario 64 with improved graphics and gameplay too.

2006-08-26 09:49:57

the point og this DJ is that you can play N64 on the PSP!
The hackers maybe like to do the unbelieveable trying to do things like this.
I think this is a great steph for PSP users!
AND can NDS play mariokart and zelda? or lylat wars and any other n64 games? there hasn’t even been an release on a zelda game yet……Phantom time glass will be out soon I guess but that is not Ocarina of time!
Ocarina of time is one of the very best zelda game in my opinnion……((yea I know off topic))

anyway I’m gonna try this emu out!

@ SomeBlackMan-

the psp can’t play ds games cuz most ds games require u to use the touch screen. it would b great if they made a ds emulator for the psp with full speed and added wifi connection. and when that came out, a hacker would replace the psp’s screen with the the ds touch screen and we could use the stylus with it & have a better light on our psp’s. Just think the “New Super Mario” game for the ds allows u to play a version of mario party wen u have both people have the same cartridge “same game” so if u had the rom it would b sweet if u could play a ds owner in mario party. but not only can u play a ds owner u could also play a person that has a psp. this is what i would want to imagine on the psp in the future around 2009 or 20010.

Ungh people still doubting that it can get to full speed? They played playstation games on the PSP and those take more to keep running @ top speed, its just a matter of time before it gets fully operational.

@Batman: Yes the PSP runs PS1 games at full speed, that doesn’t mean that the PSP can run N64 games at full speed. The PSP uses the same type of processor (MIPS) as the PS1 so emulation is far less difficult, when it comes to emulating the N64 it’s a case of simulating the operations that the N64 does in hardware using the PSP software.

It’s the same principal that means my PC can play Prey with full graphics and an excellent frame rate but struggles with Super Smash Bros!

Hey,
I have a updated PSP that is version 2.8

Does this mean I can’t play N64 games?

Can I downgrade my PSP to an earlier version and how do I do it if I can?

Should I never update my PSP over the web?
