Successful TA-082 Downgrade!

0okm has apparently done it again… This time successfully downgrading a 2.50 PSP with the dreaded TA-082 motherboard. As known the folks less fortunate with this particular motherboard version are left unable to downgrade and experience the glorious homebrew wonders which 1.50 provides. But not anymore! Well, actually… not quite yet… Nothing is publicly available yet as this hack is quite complex and involves some trickery; as 0okm explains in his blog:
Had found a method SoftDown TA-082’s FW2.50 PSP to FW1.00/1.50. But the method is quite complex, SoftDown a TA-082’s PSP need about 45min.
- Use software Read Data From TA-082’s NandFlash & DDR DRam
- Analyzes the Data than make a “FW1.00/1.50 NandFlash img” that can Boot on TA-082
- Use software Write that “FW1.00/1.50 NandFlash img” to TA-082
maybe late i will make a software to let “FW2.50 TA-082″ user to dump “NandFlash & DDR DRam” data to me
than i can make the “FW1.00/1.50 NandFlash img” to help them SoftDown their TA-082 :PNOTE :
- each TA-082 PSP need different “NandFlash img” CAN’T use this “NandFlash img” to OTHER PSP
That will Bricked the PSP !!
so SoftDown each TA-082 PSP DATA need each 45min!- if your FW2.60 TA-082 PSP is Update from FW2.50 this method can work for your PSP
- this method not work for Factory FW2.60 TA-082 PSP maybe later it can :P

Finally some good news, Now Ook find a way to downgraded 2.08 I will appreciated since my son updated mine, Little devil!, I was planning to buy another psp, but i’m going to wait a little bit more. You guys rock. if you find a way to downgrade 2.08 i send you $100 dollars, that i promise.

Great news, im a 1.5 owner but its still great to hear this for ta-082 users, by the way #16, 2.08 downgrader would take a while to make as a whole new exploit has to be discovered and it is more likely hacks in the 2.7 firmware would be discovered first.

If 2.7 gets hacked, wouldn’t 2.71 and 2.8 get hacked too if the security settings are the same?
Its great to see something like this brings everyone together. Besides comment #14 there was no hate and no one being a dick.
I am a stock 2.0 and i have updated and downgraded MANY times without the fear of the TA’s. I have always felt bad for these guys and worried about my girlfriend getting one but this is great news for everyone. I think sony needs to learn that they CAN NOT beat the homebrew scene :)

This is fantastic. I myself am a 1.5 user but thats great. As far as 2.71 and above downgraders I cant say there will never be one but not anytime soon. So the best bet is when this comes out just buy a couple 2.6 psp’s downgrade them and sell it on ebay make a little profit so you can have a 1.5 psp again and not crappy useless 2.80

This will be cool for ppl who have TA-082. and what about 2.6, 2.7, 2.71, and 2.8?! Sux for them right now. At least I’m going to downgrade on my 2.6 easier tommorrow…
awesome for the TA-082 owners. I bought my PSP only recently (maybe 10 days ago). Found out it was TA-082 and took it right back to the store. Have a non-TA-082 machine that’s doing the 1.5 thing and I couldn’t be happier. 082 owners, you guys are gonna be in shock once you get to this side of the ocean. 1.5 PSP is an amazing experience.

A 2.71 and 2.8 downgrader might not be that far off since Patrick has already dumped the 2.8 firmware, and 2.71 is available to emulate on DevHook.

Umm, if you guys try to read his quotes on this article carefully, this is what I understood: O0km says that even though he was able to downgrade his 2.5 TA-082, the catch is the downgrader data has to be unique for every TA-082 out there, which is why it takes 45 mins.; so like for example, if I had a TA then i would have to make a downgrader just for me based on the data on my PSP, so I think 0okm might make a tool so you do that part yourself, instead of requesting him to make the downgrader for you which he is implying that he would for the time being.
