Daedalus PSP WIP Update

Tayaki | August 3, 2006

StrmnNrmn has just announced some more news regarding his progress on the coming R7 release of his Daedalus PSP. Over the past few days he has managed to gain a now overall 20-25% increase in emulation speed in comparison to the R6 release of Daedalus PSP.

He has just fixed a few nagging bugs which were preventing further improvements on the project, but behold, StrmnNrmn does not plan to stick with the 20-25% speed increase for long; he has quite a few more optimizations up his sleeve that he has yet to implement before releasing R7 to the public. Great work StrmnNrmn, and good luck!

Check out more information on Daedalus at StrmnNrmn’s blog here

Well i was playing it on my PSP at the time so i hope it is the full game otherwise that would be a waste of a download wouldn’t it :)

Please. Next time tell the FPS straight in a comparable game. If a 25% increase means 10FPS instead of 8FPS, then it is completely pointless.

But progress is progress. Keep it up! :)

awsome guys im glad to hear this project is going smoothly! im already impressed by what’s being emulated at the moment with R6..caint wait till these games are emulated at the proper FPS.

lol and mark, this kind of work takes enourmous amounts of time and knowledge and is something to be appreciative of, that something like this can be made possible by the creators of Daedalus. keep it up guys!

In R6, Mario runs at 15 fps tops outside of the castle. This will become my favorite emulator overall. I hope when StrmnNrmn eventually implements sound that the fps doesn’t decrease too much.

Overall, this rocks.

@Mark

Hmm, no one at all being rip off. The N64 is a discontinued console. If you feel that way about Daedalus, just don’t touch R7 when it is released or post any comments. That’s it.

lol @ Mark
I have an N64 and Zelda. I like Zelda. I want to play it on my PSP so I can take it out with me (PSP stands for playstation PORTABLE). Sorry if that upsets you, but I’m sure Nintendo and Sony are reading your comments as you speak, and are very proud of you defending their copyrights.

Well done Mark for being the moral guardian of PSP hacks. Maybe you should try visiting nintendo.com, and post your comments somewhere that people will listen. Maybe you’ll even get a kiss from Mario.

Oh whoopty frickin’ do!

So, someone is making an N64 emu, so?
Why are some people acting upset?

Nintendo is no longer manufacturing N64s.

So what!?!

I own a 64, and Ocarina of Time.

That’ll probably be the only game I play on
this emu.
Like someone said, it’s not a crime.

We can play our games.

Heh, and I thought I’d be playing Ocarina
of Time on a DS.

HA!

To “Mark”

You are a twat, go away and make sweet love to the mario doll you fall asleep with every night.
Could YOU make an N64 emu 4 the PSP?

No, because you are a moron, a moron that thinks that Nintendo cares if PSP owners play games that it can no longer make any money from.

I think daedalus goes so slow because it is not continoaly loading

After it load you dont need the memory card

what I meen is that it should go faster is the emulator was an ISO it would not go a little fast but will go as fast an the original system because it would be allwas loading.

If it daedalus was an iso it will go faster.

Hey mark, first of all if you dont like this emulator why dont you just leave the page and not have anything to do about it? Second, there is no reason at all you use so many commas it is very annoying. But just shut up about this, most ppl know about the legal end of this and if they dont its not your problem it’s thiers. And yes many ppl have a N64 but would like to be able to take thier games with them on the road, plane, train, ext. Thats all thx
