greg | August 1, 2006
From the keyboard of danny_kay1710 arrives PSP Compressor v1.2; the user-friendly front-end which provides simplicity when converting/compressing ISO images to DAX and/or CSO format. The graphical interface has been totally revamped to make things even simplier, and it no longer requires the Visual Basic runtime files; however, you now need the .NET Framework 2.0 from Microsoft.
v1.2 changelog:
- GUI has been completely overhauled
- Batch Support! You can now select multiple files.
LIMITATION: If you do select more than one input you can NOT change the default file name and location of the multiple outputs. - Code rewritten in .NET
- System tray icon has been added with pop-up ballon alerting the user how many images have been converted during batch processing.

cool, but does it compress it more in cso or is it the same
(1ST POST, BITCHES)
Nice update. Keep it coming.
nice one.. thx
a compressed ISO into DAX is the smallest file however it will not run in DEVHOOK and its only 5MB smaller than a CSO so theres no point to me personally.
Good program but ill stick to CISO Compresser for the time been, its even more simpler and doesnt need anything but a DOS :D
20 mb of download (.net) just for a gui that issue simple shell commands…
What’s wrong in doing manually something like:
ciso 9 nameoftheiso.iso nameofthecso.cso?
Regards.
Sweet =D

its worth downloading the .net framework anyway!!!!
freeddy that dosent work it only changes the type of file it dosent compress it just changing the extention
Not working for some reason.. I get an error when I try to run the application.
To the guy that says there’s no point to the program because dax is uselss. You do realize that this doesn’t just do iso->dax but also iso->cso as well as dax->cso right?
Oh and Jay Jay, make sure you have the .net framework installed.
I made a proggy like this, only just for CSO, and simpler :P Also, I think the only thing u need is the VB6 runtimes. Most people have it, anyways ^^
You can all get it here: http://www.home.no/xern/ciso.zip
Arg, I get an error also! And yes I have the .NET framework installed, I installed it from the link provided… :(
Command line tool work tho so no biggy…
Also, why is my firewall picking up PSP ISO Compressor.exe trying to act as a server? *suspicious*
@ Freddy:
There is nothing wrong with doinf it from command prompt, bus some people find this difficult and do not know how to do it. Also this apps lets u do batch programming a lot easir than creating a batch file.
And also people moaning about .NET framework 2.0, pretty soon every app will require this – it’s even built in with Windows Vista -it’s really quitwe pointless programming things in vb6 continiously when support will end not long after the release of Windows Vista. (and also most people that use Windows Update will probably have .NET 2.0 installed anyway)
nice makes things alot easyier
and its true about dax only being 5-6 megabytes smaller than cso lol thats pretty dum :/
Now you just need to make it recurse sub-directories, So I can choose a root directory, and it will find all ISO’s contained within all of that folders sub-folders, and I’d be a happy man.
@Snarg:
Well batch supports is there if you put all images into one folder than u can just select them all and it will convert them all for you.
I may see about implementing folder search into my next version – no promises but i will see what happens lol
@ danny_kay1710:
The problem with the .NET framework is it adds a lot of bloat to your OS, and not everyone wants to install a 20+ meg framework just to run a tiny app.
As for every app requiring it soon… Dude wake up. .NET and VB aren’t the only ways to develop apps. Ever hear of natively compiled code?
Thanks for at least considering it. :)
anyone know where to get ciso compressers source code? Not everyone runs windows or mac…
