Sony should have fired a couple of their coders today…tsk tsk tsk. 2.80 isn’t cracked at all… it was cracked to begin with apparently.

From an outside, non-psp-hacking community standpoint, one can make note that Sony is doing well to at least TRY to protect from piracy…which is more than any other company has done for their systems (non pc). However, something comes out from Sony under the same encryption key… just plain retarded.

Don’t know if this is what you have to do to get this program to work or not, but before when i tried it all i got was the stupid 2 TXT files, and it deleted the Data.PSAR.

What I did was:
Added the Folder 280 to mx0:/dh/

So I made the folder for 2.8 in DevHook

When you’re finished the file structure should look like this:

ms0:/dh/280

then put the DATA.PSAR in ms0:/
and the program in ms0:/PSP/GAME
and run it via 1.5

For all you people having trouble with this, here’s the solution:

After you copy the two folders into the GAME folder, and after you copy DATA.PSAR into the root of the stick, there’s one more thing to do, a very important step that the “tutorial” failed to mention. You need to go to this place in your memory stick:

“ms0:/dh”

In the “dh” folder, you need to make your own folder called “280″. All the other firmware decrypting programs made the firmware folder themselves, but this time you have to make it youselves. After that “280″ folder is made, then go and run the application on your PSP.

for u all people it decrypting only the files from 2.8 to ur Dh folder ,so basicly wait until a new devhook arrives for 2.8 and u may enjoy the 2.8 ok?and another thing stop blabbering like an 5 year old childeren, cuase with all respect sony is the best company but it can be a pain in the ass by knowing they don`t want to lose money that`s why its protected for u all 2 know.so chill and wait for the santa clause to bring presents for us :D

I got a question, since it uses the same encryption key and theres no security updates, wouldnt it be safe for 2.7+ users to update? because if there almost identical with just that video folder thing, then any exploit in 2.7+ would most likely work on 2.8 too, right?

anyhows the firmware dump is useful cos when DAX decrypted the 2.71 firmwares he used a file called sysmem.prx to extract the reboot.bin and when devhook supports a firmware it loads all the individual files as the NAND flash would, so they did need to be extracted.

It’s not fake, just got to make sure you create a ms0:/dh/280 folder before running it.

Also noticed it said it could not decrypt loadexec.prx and loadexec.dec

first you firmware version 1.50 but you can downgrade from versions 2.00 , 2.50 and 2.60 . To use it just extract the RAR to the root of the memory stick and run the Eboot then select you firmware and UMD or ISO and you are emulating that firmware

This isn’t decrypted and the installer doesn’t except the 2.80 data.psar, we can already dump the files encrypted which is useless without the decrypted reboot.bin. And weener it is you fault for updating.

First off, a dump is not the same as a security hole. All these dumps are, is taking the files from the update that it writes to the flash disk. We can dump those files, but we haven’t created a file that can run on the computer, those files alone does not make a emulator…………

Well the PSP is nearly the same way, only diff is that the memory stick is listed as ms0:\ so basically, u know how u put music and photos on, that wuld basically be set up like this “ms0:\PSP\MUSIC” and “ms0:\PSP\PHOTO” so wut they’re saying to do here is right next to that “PSP” folder make another folder named “dh” and in that folder make another folder named “280″ so it’s like they say it’s “ms0:\dh\280″

Ok, first off, for your pics and music to work, they must be in the PSP folder, mine has:

secondly, after using all this time with me, i’m hopping that ur on a v1.5 PSP

Thirdly, yes, a folder should be created named “dh”, and inside that “dh” folder, make another named “280″ for the firmware; next to the PSP and MP_ROOT folders, that is considered the “root of the memorystick”

Fourthly (wow): yes, u just drag it there and and run the thing in the PSP and it will dump all but one file, the one file that actually has to be decrypted

if u got 1.50 why do u need to have a 2.80 dump?

1) 1.5 is needed because it has security holes that allow things like this to be run…..

2) we can use it to emulate in DevHook…this is not ready yet to, one file needs to be decrypted
