Its been awhile since we’ve heard from the PSP Rhythm Team, nonetheless here is v6.0!
Lots of new features and enhancements:
- New user interface with programming grid, graphical knobs for parameters, oscilloscope.
- Sample Loading from Pattern Mode with up to 1000 sample folders with 1000 samples each.
- New skin format and support for up to 1000 skins.
- Mute/Solo function.
- Export Pattern and load it back as a sample.
- Bass Line synth reprogrammed.
- Time Stretch Effect.
- High Pass Filter Effect.
- Lots of bug fixes and performance enhancements.
And for newcomers to the PSP homebrew scene, here’s a little excerpt:
Inspired by classic drum machines such as the Linndrum and Roland TR-series, PSP Rhythm has been created to use a similar simple, yet effective sequencer.
PSP Rhythm uses a parameter feature that enable you to change the pitch, volume, balance, start, end times, cutoff and resonance per step to create moving, changing melodies and effects. This control over your sounds will give you much more creative freedom.
The on board Bass Line synthesizer in PSP Rhythm is similar to the classic Roland TB-303. TB-303 style features such as Accent and Slide are available. The real time control of the Cutoff and Resonance give you that authentic “Acid” sound that made the TB-303 Bass Line Synthesizer so famous.
Included effects are: Distortion, Slicer, Delay, Time Stretch, High/Low Pass Filter and Monophonic Sample Mode.
So, with all that said, fetch PSP Rhythm v6.0 below and drop a beat y’all!

good work, will try this out later…
this thing sucks
great app!
cant be botherd trying good work tho.
I love this app!
I wish I could think of something constructive to write here ?!?
me too. That would be so cool
Seems too complicated for me lol. I’d never win any contest with that. I’ll just stick with Punk-O-Matic lolz. HEYY that would be a cool app on the PSP haha.
Wow, saying something “sucks” just because you’re too much of a dimbulb to take the time to learn it is great!
Great job with this release - 5.0 was great, and this new feature list is making me drool; can’t wait to get home and try it out!
Ay is there any way of porting Cubase to PSP? that would be the sickest thing ever, or allowing vsts to run on this app
I think running VSTs on this PSP sound studio software will be a great idea, like adding your own Effects for example. However using VSTs will use alot of processing power and some may even need too much processing power to include. Using some VSTs like VST instruments will be a pain without a keyboard and the small screen. These also take allot of processing power. Who knows what may be included in the next release. I say this release is fantastic and keep up the hard work.
P.S. I have a PDA and you can get some music studio apps on that, but PSP Rhythm is way better than any thing on your PDA.
less see if I cant sell a few beats to Diddy’s new group…
Hmm, maybe I could do something with the contest. It would give me a summer project for something to do before school starts :P
Dope application! Much respect to the creator/s for this…As a producer myself, it’s very good to have portable beats on the go. Once again, GREAT IDEA! The new generation will rise…

Cant get it working, why does it say ‘copy the rythm folder to the GAME folder, then say copy the rythm and rythm% folder to the GAME folder’?
‘Copy the what what where now?????’
I could just use the auto installer, but i like to know where things go in my psp. Yeah the other rythm was great, this will be to (when i get it working)
havent used it yet lol, i just worked out how to get it started. ok if you downloaded the manual install and you have realised the instructions are screwed up, what u need to do is paste the “common” folder in “GAME” on your psp then rename it rythm, after that just copy the folder or folders from 1.0 or 1.5 into “GAME” on your psp and then it will say something about replacing a folder just click yes and your good to go!!!!!!. i hope its not shit cos i just wrote all this…..
Sorry for the confusion, some changes where made and the ManualInstall.txt file was not updated correctly. I have updated the documentation in the download from my site and posted it here:
