PSPVBA: Gameboy Advance Emulator v1.2.1
greg | July 23, 2006
Its been a few days since we’ve heard from ZX-81, rest assure he’s been hard at work developing and improving the popular Gameboy Advance emulator, PSPVBA. Earlier today v1.2.0 was released, now comes v1.2.1 only a few hours later! Please note PSPVBA v1.2.1 does not function on FW 2.0 or higher – this release is strictly 1.50 only.

v1.2.1 changes:
- New feature to save and load a distinct setting file for each games
- Add option to enable/disable the cache with the Graphical Unit
- Emulator menus reorganisation (new menu for settings)
- Bug fix: Emulator menu is now launched on startup
- Bug fix: no more freeze when exiting the emulator (but HOME button still doesn’t work!)
- Bug fix: bad refresh of the emulator menu/screen
Download: PSPVBA v1.2.1

Awesome!!! Just wondering…is it still a little bit slow?
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
Keep up the good work ZX-81.
We’re all very proud of you.
is it faster?
excelent. thanks.
Game & Watch Gallery = 7-8fps. Still too slow.
It’s running pretty good now, sound is still staticy but its improved a but since v1.1.0. Lol, just wondering but you guys like the psp/gba fusion I did for the background and icon?
-…shadow…
Looking good ZX-81, I’aint going to point out the flaws cuz you know what they are, and given time it will kick ass.
can some 1 tell me how to run this version on fw1.0
its says fw 1.5 can u run’it on 1.0 and how..!??!?!?!?
use sei psp tool and make the two eboots to one. voila
lol i downloaded this rite when it was posted any way its looking good, any settings recomended for pokemon games?
I’m flattered, you know what they say “Immitation is the biggest form of flattery.”(I’m sure the guy who runs this site can tell by the posts whos the real one)
-…shadow…
That fusion thing kicks ass dude. Did you use photoshop?
damn the KING zx-81 team release another nice update again, thank you very much.
hey zx-81 dont quite this project even if those ignorant people say sh*t.
You know….there’s a difference between “talking shit” and providing constructive criticism. Seriously, the improvements in the options / menu system are nice, and serve positive purposes in the grand scheme of things…BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE EMULATOR IS STILL TO SLOW TO PLAY GAMES ON. PLEASE focus 100% of your time and energy on working out a way to get the program to run roms at FULL SPEED before you post 2-5 updates a week…the updates mean nothing if we can’t PLAY GAMES WITH IT.
@all: thx
@flamers: ask your mum to buy you a real GBA ;) …
making good progress :) if he didnt post up all the updates then people would be complaining and wonder ing if hes even working on it…
okay i dowloaded this thing, but where do u get the games from
you can download roms from here: http://www.emuwizards.com/
nice work. Checking out the options for releasing a skin pack for this, but it’ll take some work. Lucky for me that 2.6 -> 1.5 downgrader worked like a charm (thanks again) I love what you are trying to do for the scene, but dude, you gotta compact your updates, or you are gonna end up with 100 versions of this file floating around on the internet.
this emulator still too slow to play……..
thanks ZX-81 ;) all hard work but no pay.. respect
Great work ZX-81, I see that tommydanger has just released a GBA emulator based on your source code.
“tommy’s PSPVBA v0.1″
It has some excellent improvements, which would be good if brought into your emulator.
My suggestion would be to see if you could work together on this project as the updates would come even faster with 2 great minds on the job.
Thanks again
wow i cant believe it, no one said “yay 1st post” are the people here actually maturing?
Zx keep up the good work
cant wait to see it at full speed
just post the framerate first, save everyone from wasting time then, yeah?
yay 25th post on 25th of july!
mature enough for ya.. XD
concerning the speed it may never be as fast a a gameboy as it takes imense proccessing power to emulate any system and though the psp has a lot of power it may not be enough but I’m not realy sure but its a vast improvement over the first few emulators that appeared in the begging of all the homebrew gear keep up the good work ZX-81.
theres always gotta be one right? just wondering when is the gaming community oing stop being babies even though gamers are anywhere from 10 to 40 years old they mostly act like their 5 y/o not just here but everwhere
maybe its time to grow up
great work on….wait a sec, this is not ds its for psp duh!!!!!!
Hmm this might sound extremly negativ, but don’t get me wrong! I LOVE this Emu! Yet ressently the updates have become little an uneffescient (i know i spelled that horribly wrong xD) please focu all your skills on updating the speeeed! Sure it may look good with fancy menues and “bug-ereasations” (is that a word?!xP) yet the emulator fails to do the one thing people download for! All we want is to play gba games in 100% speed… screw the fancy menues and bug cleaning for the time being please…
I do not have sound with PSPVBA version 1.2.1, but version 1.2.0 had sound. I am puzzled.
I have deleted the emulator and reinstalled it and still no sound.
Can someone help me?
you guys have done an excellent job with this new emu-ver., but i also agree about the speed please let focus on way to make a faster emu with each version update :)!
