NeoGeo Emulator v0.2.2

greg | July 14, 2006

Amongst all the wonderful rapid homebrew developers, NJ, ZX-81, BOOSTER, etc… I wonder who sleeps the most. This update comes from NJ, developer of the popular NeoGeo emulator for the Sony PSP. Now sitting comfortably at v0.2.2, NJ has regretfully informed us he is putting a halt on development and v0.2.2 will be the last for awhile. Many thanks to NJ for his devotion and hard work over the past few weeks, your emulator will be put to good use!

Loosely translated v0.2.2 changelog (provided by Google!)

  • BIOS while executing raster effects is always made effective
  • During game execution depends on the value which is set with the menu.
  • Modification for the operation improvement of uni-bios v2.0/v2.1/v2.2 deleting the excessive processing of the drawing part.

metal slug (1) works perfect for me (very slight slowdown with +5 badguys on the screen), so overall an “almost” perfect emulator, thanks NJ

Anyone know how to fix the sprite cache error sfix or whatever when loading Metal Slug 1? I get it with all the metal slugs and some other games. I even made the cache using the converter. I can’t find the answer anywhere.

Is there a way to turn off the low battery warning? I can’t play this because my battery doesn’t work, and it won’t let me load any roms with the warning flashing constantly.

forget about I finally got it working.

NJ great emu but let everyone know to get the roms get the mame version of the neogeo roms NOT the neogeo systems of the neogeo roms.

JUST ONE QUESTION NOW!!!!
SINCE I GOT TWO OF THE SAME ROMS OF THE CACH OF THE SAME GAME IN BOTH CACHE FOLDER. SHOULD I DELETE THE ONE ON THE ROM FOLDER.

TRYING TO SAVE MEMORY YOU KNOW….

I hope it will be usefull but like all emu and roms you might get some bugs like game will work but no sound. But hey take on what you could get I rage of dragons rom but the sound doesn’t work but this game was hard to get. so I’m happy playing it this double dragon update is real kool

TO:QUENTIN and OTHERS

when it come to sounds emu for example I didn’t get sound in the last blade 1 and 2 fighting game. but the game works great. Hopefully when NJ comes back maybe NJ will fix the bugs to this problem.
but all and all a lot of my neogeo roms working great even rage of the dragons. But not samurai showdown 5 special I think you might need a special file on that.

My SvC Chaos stopped working for this version, but it worked on the last version I had. Should I change back? I prefer to keep playing SvC but I’m assuming 2.2 has less lag. I got Samurai Showdown 5, Metal Slugs, Real Bouts, Kof 2002 and Matrimelee to work just fine. If you download the rom you have to download all versions, like Samurai Showdown has 3 and SvC PCB 1 and 2, You have to put all them in the rom folder, just Cache the largest file and it should work just fine. The no sound doesn’t bother me, I love this and thank you so much for making it.

Also be sure to read the List, you may need to rename some roms to fit the converters needs.

does samurai showdown 5 special work on this also.

Yeah, Samurai Showdown 5 does work. It’s been a little difficult for me because of the no move list. I just want to be able to do supers as well as play, I just unlocked Geese in Real Bout Fatal Fury Special which is awesome mind you. If you fight Geese and beat him it’ll tell you how to unlock him. You can beat it even on Easy if you want, also abuse the save states.
