Very cool Chaos Zero! Great job! DevHook with updates are probably going to come soon, so this will have to be updated. Especially since DevHook 2.71 emulation is buggy.

In addition, may you also include an option to install a regular DevHook 0.44 with WiFi and Save fix and the official Sony firmware with no custom fonts, backgrounds, sounds, game boot screens, etc.? I like to try both to see which is best. “POLSKY” on “http://www.psp-hacks.com/2006/07/13/devhook-v044-released-with-271-fw-emulation/#comments” also wanted an uncustomized version.

0.44 is different mainly because it contains fw. 2.71 emulation, i think.

I still think the older, older version(s) are better. these ones seem so much more buggy

Will wait for the Debugged out version to be released. 0.43 works fine, Bug free as far as I noticed. 2.71 Emu you can’t even use the settings with out it sticking to the error correction press O.

I dont know what you are all complaining about, the umulation is just fine!
for it it works with no bugs, all the games and features work just great!

can someone please include an idiots guide on how to use this.
I have downgraded to 1.5 from 2.6 firmware, and have installed several loaders but the only 1 i can get to work is daxziso, everything else just returns to the system 1.5 menu.

Hey, I was wondering, as I’m sure there is, if there’s a way to play backed up ISOs from the emulated version of 2.71? as I can’t figure out how to do it

As a quick note, the next version I release will have the option to install the Stripped Version first, then add the customization :P

Firstly in answer to Cuppa’s question, yes it will play ISOs. Just press ‘O’ when it loads, and click on “UMD Select” to switch between UMD Disc, and the various ISOs.

Now I’ve got a question. The above seems to work for newer games, but some older games (Namco Museum etc) don’t seem to work even if the UMD Ver is set to “No change”.
I know I can just use Fastloader, but I don’t see the logic as to why it doesn’t work.

Any ideas?

I just can’t boot it….it seems not to work, I have my cute GTA:LCS UMD and Im trying to play it on my 1.5 (downgraded)…every time I try to boot from DH it turns into a blank screen and after some seconds the PSP goes off. Any help ??? How do I boot it to use the browser ??? :| thanks to all of you and very thanks to Booster and chaos and all the guys working behind the scenes. ;)

Hey CHAOS great work mate…one thing though i noticed if u press home to exit a game (iso)-in firmware 2.71 (anyumd) and select yes to exit the psp shuts down and doesnt go back to the main screen as per usual just me or every body??

you put the isos in a folder in the root directory called “ISO”

has anyone had problems with this corrupting savedata? cause for some odd reason it keeps making my syphon filter:dark mirror save go corrupt…

and now a good question i came up with that will make some people think… i hope… Will or can this ever run a custom fimware?

can`t get it to work. just get a black screen then it goes off. i am using the following settings:
umd mount: umd disc
umd version: no change
firmware: 1.5 ( just to test)
cpu clock: no change
boot select: reboot xmb

ok i have it running 2.71 now i tryed in 333 and 222mhz modes but i cant get rss to work or to save videos on my psp it says for saving a video “memory stick full” when it has 430meg free and on the rss its a code of some sort when tryed to add a rss audio feed which i know works on non devhook psp

DevHook rocks! but not as much as 1.5, if it wasnt for 1.5 this wouldnt be possible. I a little pissed tho because u guys should have released this in a few months time after some sweeter games came out, e.g. Vice City Stories or GT4 Mobile, coz now Sony will release another firmware update that we wont be able to emulate, which will be required to play these new games. This means for some of us who dont wanna pay for another PSP system that we will have to live without – no big deal but still. I never thought it possible to emulate firmware! what a good idea from the creator of DH, keep it up.

i have tried several versions of devhook…..this shit does not work.
downgraded from 2.6 to 1.5 installed as per instructions tried to load a game that is supposed to work with devhook….guess what? FUCK ALL!!!!!!!
The tutorials aren’t worth the paper they’re written on either, better off using UMDEMULATOR or DAXZISO becuse this sucks.
If anyone would like to offer an explanation on how they get this shit to work I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who would appreciate it

Hey! This is pretty awsome :P I’v got a few .iso files and some work and some dont. Is there an option that i have to change to get some games to work? Like, Megaman powered up works great! but I can’t get Megaman Maverik Hunter X or Metal Gear Acid to work :/ What can I do to get them to work? I’m running 1.5 but I have DevHook upgrade to 2.71 so I can run newer .iso files if that counts for anything.

Sincere apologies to the developers, DEVHOOK 0.44 does work, I have now realised the error of my ways and am selecting START from the top of the menu after changing the settings instead of EXIT from the bottom of the menu.

Just a thought though, how about putting START at the bottom, it seems a natural progression once you have worked down the list of settings, to have START as the next option.

Man, the 2.71 emulation is buggy. When loading I keep getting the “settings are corrupt” screen with 8 languages on it. I’m sure this will be fixed soon anyways. 2.6 plays whatever games I need to run anyways. Love Devhook!

I will probably get flamed for asking this question but, once I have already installed the 2.5 emulator on my 1.5 firmware PSP, is it still possible for me to install the 2.71 firmware emulator somehow?

If it is then could somebody please be so kind enough to post a link to a tutorial that might help me out how to switch from 2.5 emulation to 2.71 emulation.

All credit goes out to these guys, I’ve just recently downgraded from 2.60 to 1.50 thanks to some genuis called Dark Alex, took me some time to have the balls to do it (scared I would brick my little beauty). Anyway thanks to these guys I can have the best of both worlds, Homebrew accessed straight from the PSP menu and 2.71 firmware!

Devhook 44 works for most of my games, and I’ve found it easy to use.

hello, props to every1 who made devhook, its very kewl, its nice to actually be able to play real psp games on my 1.5, but recently there is a problem i cant solve, i cant seem to save my games. i mean i used to be able to do it for a few days, but just yesterday, i am unable to save my game at all. and the save games i did have have disappeared, is there neway to fix this? thanks in advance

How do you go back if you emulate 2.71 firmware? It wont start Devhook from 2.71. Get data corrupted.. Its probably a dumb question – I know :(

i d/g’d from 2.71 on a ta-082 to 1.5 put on a smash bros game that works, then instaled dev hook, the dev hook device won tlet me play and i dnt know how to get the games on to the psp correctly, also i cant play my rainbow six vegas game that i bought, it says i have to update to ver 2.82
