I just played Daxter again with ChaosZeros pack and I played fine. Question: will the vshex 1.50 return mod work with devhook 043? Or is there an easier way to switch from UMD mode to ISO mode?

If anybody finds it freezes when you hit START then go to the OTHER menu option at the bottom and choose preload address and choose the first one in the list… It will work fine after you do that…

Oh, something’s wrong. Still can’t get wifi / browser of 2.60 to work, and 2.50 don’t work at all (it just freeze on PSP screen and turning off with my LocoRoco CSO). More to say, old 0.41d just can’t launch – black screen and turning off too. Maybe news about browser etc was a little bit to early? Is there anyone who made it work?..

this is great.
Just a question though, I got a few games that dont load with the “This game could not be started” error.
eg. Crash Tag Racing, Viewtiful Joe, Tokobots.
I havent tried different DevHook settings yet, but is there some general hints on what are the best settings for games with this error?
There are a rather alot of different settings which makes it a bit daunting with all the different combinations when you dont know exactly what they mean.

when in 2.60 mode you can change game’s by simply hitting HOME and R or L trigger! (you have to wait about 5 or 6 seconds before the Next game comes up.

it’s a scrolling feature … the game doesn’t start up … just the icon of the game. I have 4 games on memory stick and it showing me the next game on the stick when I hit the HOME and L or R trigger. Then I can decide if that’s the one I want to play next. I wasn’t sure I wrote it clearly in my first post.

If you’re having problems using devhook try another memory stick. In my case the 1GB Sony Stick was the cause of this problem. Both my Sandisk sticks have no problem running devhook.

This app cannot brick your psp. It is impossible as it does not wirte into the flash.
Check if your battery ran dry. ^^

I find it hard to believe if this did brick your PSP as mentioned above its impossible. Try taking your battery out and popping it back in.

So this version is exaclty as the other devhooks? just download the 2.6 update and exract DATA.PSAR and put it in the root of your memo and etc etc.. right?

it has bricked my PSP it went on the Sony Screen and then it crashed. I then Took the battery out and then put it back in and there is nothing. Tried turning it on there is no lights nothing. Its the Japanese 1000k PSP not the 1003 psp

it works for almost all untouched games up to FW 2.6 and yes GTA is one of the many working ones

HOW DO I GET THIS TO WORK I HAVE USED THE OTHER DEVHOOKS BUT HOW DO INSTALL THIS ONE!?

1) dont write with capslock on
2) grab the Full Pack from this site
3) delete your previous installation
4) copy the contents of the MS_ROOT folder to the root of your memcard
et voilá
it works

i agree with the above poster, if anyone is having any problems at all just use the chaoszero full install, i did have to swap the wlan.prx for 2.60 with the one from 2.50 to get the net to work on 2.60 though.

could a pmf encoder be floating around?

UH Wtf I could play Daxter already what the hell since when did Daxter need 2.6? I ran it off DaxZiso in fact i’ve beaten the game.

I think he was referring to playing the Daxter UMD and not an ISO rip. I was unable to play my Daxter UMD until this devhook 043. However I really didn’t try to hard to get it to work.

Is thier a way to reboot fw1.5 using devhook. This way we can try out new homebrew without worrying about bricking our psp.

Been using it to load all my games, ISO, UMDs no prob.
I think it even fixed the wifi problem running at 333.

Theres one thing though, does the “DevHook VSHEX 1.50 Return Mod” compatible with this?.. anyone tried it. ? Ive tried but it doesnt work.. or i did anything worng?..

Because it really makes life abit easier to reset back to 1.5.

Yeah, thats the only thing missing. But I’m sure that one will come out. Having to restart to get back to 1.5 sucks. I might just keep 2.5 firmware until one comes out.

I have tried a number of Devhook versions and have had no luck loading isos with it. none at all wich sucks. i have managed to reboot using it so i can load GTA UMD which required firmware 2.00 but no isos? all the readme files are not in english and do not seem to be in anyother language either!. I have used DAXZISo program and can load isos but not UMDs. can anyone help.
i just want to try and use one program

If anyone is having trouble with devhook, make sure you format your memoery card before you put the files on to it. This did the trick for me. Also use this version.

I have used the PRXDecrypter for 2.60 and now have two folders containing the firmware dump, F0 and FD. How do I properly install dumped v2.60 firmware so that it is usable with Devhook? I have tried everything I can think of and nothing works. All Devhook does when I tell it to start is go to a black screen.

The fw installer included with the latest devhook fix will extract all the files needed from the 2.6 data.psar except for the reboot.bin. you’ll need to get that from the PRXDecrypter dump which should be in the FD folder.

This run, new firmware for new games, is for now positive to us, but i am afraid, the upcomming version 3 of psp firmware, is gonna be very-very hard….

i dont thing we will have new playable games after 6 or 8 months…

i think the only way to avoid this (bad for us, good for Sony..) feature is a whole new project, maybe with all the good programmers(booster, dark alex, fanjita, and so many others…)

Works great and had not 1 crash or lock up so far. Outrun 2006 works with no changes made and so do a heap of other stuff. Excellent work

Of course this is fantasic work once again and umd games that come out with 2.60 will be copied and played as is(untouched). I dont know if sony will put 2.71 firmware on their games which will do no good with the recent decryption of 2.71 firmware are will they soon be putting 3.0 firmware. Well all I know is we never thought that a 2.6 downgrader would be possible we never thought we would be running all of the 2.6 games nor did we think we would run 2.5 and 2.6 emulation. So sure it might take awhile to crack the new firmware but theres an old sane if man can make it man can crack it.

Chaos Zero’s stripped down pack works for me but on my own try of installing it fresh from BOOSTER I still can’t get the 2.60 firmware to install correctly. At the end I get a couple errors:
*(0×10 bytes left at end of file)
*ms0:/dh/260/flash0/kd/loadexec.prx:could not be decrypted

Cant get Daxter to run on mine, the firmware sees it in the games menu but it comes up with an error message when I try to run it.

you need to reformat your ms people and it works just fine. to the people that says this sucks just sell your psp now becuse you have no clue. this is by far the best loader program ever to come out on the psp all games work and no changing out prx files. if your games arent working they probley were changed to run on a differnt loader get untouched iso dumps. THANKS TO THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THIS KICK ASS PROGRAM.

This is a great app and it just keeps getting better and better. One thing though, the square+home hack to return to the 1.5fw doesnt seem to be working for me. Does anyone knows if the PRX for this hack was included in the Full Installation? or do we have to add it as we did in 0.42?

Well I think this latest Devhook is the greatest homebrew so far and its getting better all the time. Talkman with the usb mic is now working!!!!. Thanks booster. Looking forward for the next release with 2.71!

Version 0.43 needs a fix for saving gams, it currupts game saves.

Devhook should implement a measure that requires you to have the UMD of the ISO in the PSP or at least maybe requires you to have at least put it in the PSP once for verification or even download a certain file from the UMD for even more antiwarez measures. Anyways…

Is the Devhook 0.43 firmware installer able to install 2.60 firmware from a data.psar taken from the 2.60 US update eboot? I have not been able to do so successfully. Are you only able to update from a UMD that has 2.60 on it?

Jap 1.5 + jap 1.5fw (psp1000) usually runs devhook well. DH 0.43 has corrupted mem stik twice running 2.6. all else fine. maybe emulation problem?

For those having trouble with the screen going black, you need to hit the ‘O’ button as soon as the menu appears the first time you use it.

Otherwise it tries to auto start and crashes I think.

Can someone please tell me what they mean by “hit Home and move over to Yes” means? I’m trying to reset my PSP back to 1.5 without shutting it down, but I don’t see the “yes” option. All I have (when I hit home and use L/R to scroll over) are the list of my CSOs. Where exactly do I find the “yes” option and when exactly do I hit L+R+UP+X???

its when you’re actually playing a game and when you want to quit and go back to 1.5 you hold L+R+UP and press x on the yes option

For ppl who have been having trouble using the RSS function on the PSP with the emulated 2.6FW here’s wut u do:

If have already attempted:
1)go into the ‘SYSTEM’ folder (inside the ‘PSP’ folder)
2)change the name of the folder named ‘RSSCH’ (cause it won’t let u delete it if u already tried to use it.
3)make ur own folder named ‘RSSCH’
4)use the test one and enjoy

If u haven’t tried the RSS yet:
1)go into the ‘SYSTEM’ folder (inside the ‘PSP’ folder)
2)make a folder named ‘RSSCH’
3)use the test one and enjoy

Hope that helped anyone who wanted to use the RSS Channels with this app. :)
