1.5 is deffinetly better… but i think i’ll have one of my psp’s at 1.5 and the other with a modchip at 1.0 with 2.71 custom… since my modchip came today :)

I appreciate DevHook especially since it’s the only solution right now to keep a homebrew friendly Sony firmware able to play almost any version game. However, I can see the advantage of being able to load custom firmware without special hardware e.g. modchip. It would be nice to have a PSP that can load any version UMD/ISO we own along with homebrew without needing to run a program everytime we decide to play homebrew or shutdown.

i dont see a use for this cuz if u already have 1.5 u can already do everything

Define ‘custom firmware’ cuz cant you already do that stuff with a 1.5 and something like FlashMod or even better, xFlash v10?

custom firmware means, having all the fun homebrew and still having ps1 emulator and web browser…

When you have FW 1.0 on your psp, its like you have a U.P. ModChip !! You dont need this chip anymore!

no less than 12 hours after this was posted, there will be a downgrader. We are going to see 1.00 firmware turn into something that will play all the other firmware functions, but still be 1.00…so how would it load and work…would we need menu shortcuts (similar to irshell shortcuts) to use new features, or would it be possible to add them straight to the xmb and make it work from there?

All in all, this is better news than people think it is, because it will most likely have hacks come out on it that will be what the psp will be remembered for.

It will be a while before we see a good custom firmware come out of this though….

ill downgrade to 1.0 when there is a custom firmware available (if you saw the video for the hacked 2.71, that is custom firmware, it cant be run on 1.5 or higher because 1.5 and higher will not allow unsigned code on the firmware, a downgrader tricks the psp into thinking it is being upgraded and then when it finds the files corrupt it tells you to set it back, in this case to the 1.5 firmware that was packaged into the downgraderyou could downgrade your psp to a 2.0 or a 2.5 (from 2.6 anways) if you replace the 1.5 files (i did and then i reuped to 2.5 then downgraded to 1.5 to see if downgrading to 2.0 works, and it does)

can someone please tell me the answer to this! My m8’s have psp’s but they are 2.01 + 2.50 so they need to upgrade first to downgrade So do they upgrade the f/w with a m/s or a game upgrade? there in the uk so does it matter which f/w eg u.s gos on there system? Just they dont want to make a brick!

My PSP-1000 Ceramic White PSP will be the first to sport the rare 1.00 firmware. It can’t get no better than that guyz…

Its gonna happen…. a replacement fw that will add all features u can currently use… then when sony keeps bringing out new fw versions developers wil just ad to the fw to add the new features!!! SONY CANNOT WIN HAXERS WILL FIND A WAY! My predicion.. they find a way to make ur psp auto-update for like a free online gaming or something…… so everyone will switch.. not me though! :) I shall stay strong to the psp haxing community!

lol, maybe we will see a 1.0 to 0.99 soon, the downgrades are coming so fast and evertime the firmware they downgrade to is lower, so soon we all have 0.99 or 0.4, lol :P

Is there any noob helper here? ^^ haha, I dont know how to use the RUNUMD UMD EMULATOR ? I downloaded Loco roco and i put it in the right place i loaded it so that it looks like the PSP is having the UMD in but when i load it up it cant read it :S Have i dont right ? i put UMD UMD% in game and the folder UMDEMULATOR in the root of my psp?

as far as I know LocoRoco is still unbootable, it requieres 2.70 which devhook/umd emulator cant emulate…

Anyone got a 1.00 Dump for download? (Not just the flash0, but the downdater thing)

LocoRoco works fine with DevHook,and it requiers only 2.6(if you mention full game,not demo).

I have LocoRoco running on my 1.5 fw with DevHook just fine.

Just dont get how to use devhook? :| And do i have to use devhook to play those games or can i use any other program? thats easier

I juss use the dev hook webbrowser to download porno clips on the web then open file assistant and move em to a video folder then open psp media player watch it jack off for like 1O mins or go in the shower and jack off then delete em and get new 1s and jack off more

Wasn’t there already a downgrader for virgin 1.5’s?….. Anyways i have a virgin 1.5 and never even thought twice about upgrading or downgrading the sucker. Runs everything perfectly the way it is…. this 1.0 isnt a very big break.
