eLoader with USB for FW 2.50/2.60!

Posted by greg

Originally developed by Fanjita and Ditlew, and without a doubt one of the most downloaded homebrew apps, comes eLoader with USB support - courtesy of 0okm. Now while you’re in eLoader you can create a USB connection between your PC and PSP granting the ability to transfer files to & from without rebooting back to the XMB. This is great news for those left unable to downgrade (due to the TA-082 PCB) and experience the wonders of 1.50! Thanks 0okm!

To get this running simply start eLoader as normal and execute “USB for eLoader GTA” - afterwards you can toggle USB mode by pressing Triangle.

PSPMaster Updated to v0.0.3b

Posted by greg

The new emulator on the block, PSPMaster, has been updated to v0.0.3b! As you’ll recall from [Bo]Trops’ release yesterday, PSPMaster emulates the classic Sega Master System console and Game Gear handheld, and it does it quite well!

PSPMaster Shinobi Screenshot

v0.0.3b changelog:

  • Fixed a bug in the Master System background render code.
  • Fixed a bug in the state files.
  • Fixed a Game Gear screen shot bug.
  • User can select the language file from the main menu.
  • Start to rewrite render routines in assembly to gain some speed. Function Render_UpdateBgCache() done.

Changing PSPMaster language:

PSPMaster read menu strings from a script file. These files are in languages directory. To create a new language just translate the strings in the file “english.c” using a simple text editor like Windows Notepad.

Changing the default theme:

You can change the default emulator font by changing the script file “theme.c” in theme directory. The background image displayed in menus is in the file “bg.bin”. You can create your own background image by using the background generator. The background generator convert a windows bitmap file into a PSPMaster background file.

PSPMaster: Sega Master System/Game Gear Emulator

Posted by greg

Remember these classic Sega innovations - the Master System console and the Game Gear handheld? Well if ya don’t, here’s a little blast from the past: the cartridge-based Master System, predecessor to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, was released in 1985 in Japan (1986 for the US) during the 8-bit gaming era. In 1990 Sega released the Game Gear in response to Nintendo’s Gameboy. Yadda, yadda, yadda…

Now onto this newly released emulator from [Bo]Trops, PSPMaster - emulating both the Sega Master System and Game Gear! I just gave this a quick test-run and it runs quite well.

The emulator uses the old Marat Z80 emulator by Marat Fayzullin, some parts of SMS Plus by Charles Mac Donald, and is heavylly optimized for the PSP system. PSPMaster is running at full speed without frame skiping when the YM2413 sound emulation is disabled. Please do not change default options if you don’t know what you are doing.

SEGA Master System

v0.0.2b changelog:

  • Game Gear emulation is ok.
  • Some speed optimizations.
  • The analog button can be used as the SMS DButton.
  • Fixed a sound bug.
  • Options menu.
  • Screen shots in gif format.
  • Language file suport.
  • Suport for YM2413 sound chip, but emulation became slow when enabled.

X-Flash Kerrang Build 4 Released

Posted by greg

This app is extremely powerful - if you know what you’re doing… For unknown reasons its been neglected to some extent on PSP Hacks as we haven’t covered the continuing updates & improvements. No less, here is X-Flash Kerrang Build 4 from homebrew developer Art! When used properly [and with caution] this application can change various aspects of your PSP’s firmware, also resulting in your very own unique customized firmware version!

Kerrang Build 4 changelog:

  • Fixed in program sound effects to come out of both speakers instead of just the left speaker. Program also displays Mikmod Sound Library version on startup.
  • Added support for analogue joystick in XMB Menu Editor, Document Reader, and Custom Firmware Configurator.
  • Improved XMB Label Editor with faster cursor movement, and changed text is highlighted.

Again, this app touches the PSP’s flash memory - it’s to be used with caution and at your own risk.

PSPVBA: Gameboy Advance Emulator v1.2.2

Posted by greg

PSPVBA - the popular PSP Gameboy Advance emulator, ported from VisualBoyAdvance by none other than homebrew ninja ZX-81, has been updated to v1.2.2. Unfortunately there’s some bad news to go along with it… quoted from ZX-81 himself:

After days of intensive work on this emulator, I have to say that I’ve tried many things, and unfortunately none give better speed results.

It seems that I’ve reached the limit of what I can do on this emulator (from speed point of view).

PSPVBA Screenshot

Here’s the changelog:

  • Rewrite some part of the Gfx code (up to 5% faster)
  • Bug fix and code cleaning

Nonetheless, give it a try and provide your feedback below. Thanks for all your hard work and devotion Sir. Jacomme!

Much thanks XazZ!

Pimp My Garage (PORTABLE) Released

Posted by greg

Awesome! Absolutely awesome! I couldn’t word it any better myself:

What is that I here you all cry…? What do you mean portable…? Well, I mean a full on homebrew version of the ever so popular online tool with all the online features and more (apart from percent submerged which didn’t do anything anyway by the way)…

That’s right, all you lucky PSP owners with firmware 1.5 can now pimp out cars to your hearts content without ever having to use that pesky USB cable because this version runs straight off your PSP… On top of all that you can have customizable colour palettes and even choose your background music as it also double as a basic MP3 player…

If that isn’t enough for you I’ve provided you with 4 save slots to save work in progress… If you get bored working on one car then just save it and load up another one you were working on… When done, Export to the game, load up LCS and try it out… Still not right, hard reset, load up
Pimp My Garage Portable again and fix it… It will remember where you were up to…

Anyway, enough talk, download it from here (and enjoy)…

For a download and more info, check out http://www.cheatsync.net/

Thanks for the email mz8691, and great work ADePSp!
